Fish community structure in the Pyeongchanggang River was investigated from April to November 2009. About 900 individuals representing 24 species from eight families at six sites in the Pyeongchanggang River were collected. It was similar to the 2001's survey and it was less than 2006's survey. The Korean endemic species, Zacco koreanus was the most abundant, whereas subdominant species were native species, such as Pungtungia herzi, Zacco platypus, Rhynchocypris kumgangensis and Rhynchocypris oxycephalus. Three endangered species were collected at the sampling area, Acheilognathus signifier (relative abundance [RA] 0.9%), Pseudopungtungia tenuicorpa (RA 1.4%), and Cottus koreanus (RA 3.6%). One natural monument species, Hemibarbus mylodon, was included. According to the analysis of ecological indicator characteristics, the relative proportion of tolerant species was 6.3% (57 individuals), whereas the proportion of sensitive species was 65.9% (593 individuals). Species evenness, richness and diversity indices decreased gradually through the month from April to November during the study. Community indices in Pyeongchanggang River showed a high evenness index (J'>0.6), a low level of species richness (R<3.5) and a medium level of diversity (1.5
The seasonal variations in species composition and abundance of the fish assemblage were studied in the rocky subtidal habitat around the Jam-do, Jinhae. Fish samples were collected monthly from September 2007 to July 2008 using a pot. During study, a total of 48 fish species belonging to 24 families were collected. The dominant species were Sebastes longispinis, Pseudoblennius cottoides, Sebastes inermis, Rudarius ercodes, Ditrema temminckii, Ernogrammus hexagrammus, which accounted for 71.0% of the total number of individuals collected. The number of species, number of individuals, biomass and diversity greatly fluctuated showing a peak in the number of species, number of individuals and species diversity in autumn, whereas the biomass was the highest in spring. Abundance of dominant species varied with season. S. longispinis was abundant during spring and summer, while the abundance of P. cottoides was higher during autumn and spring. S. inermis occurred with high number in September, December and May, whereas R. ercodes occurred exclusively during autumn.

In order to secure basic data on biodiversity for wetland conservation and management used the data from Wetland Protected Area surveys conducted in South Korea (2015-2019) to analyze the distribution of fish from a total of 15 orders, 45 families, 134 species, and 12,972 individuals. The predominant species identified were Zacco platypus (Temminck and Schlegel) (19.47%) and Zacco koreanus (Kim, Oh and Hosoya) (8.16%). Of all emergent species, 52.9% (n=71 species) were freshwater species, 26.9% (n=36) were brackish species, 3.0% (n=4) were migratory species, 27% (n=36) were marine species, and 9.0% (n=12) were riffle benthic species. Overall, 5.2% (n=7 species) were endangered species, 3.0% (n=4) were exotic species, and 23.1% (n=31) were Korean endemic species. The eight identified Wetland Protected Areas (WPA) were classified based on their habitat characteristics and on the analysis of their emergent fish communities, as estuarine (n=2), coastal dune (n=1), marsh (n=2), stream (n=2), and stream-marsh (n=1) types. The environmental factors revealed to have the greatest influence on the species diversity of emergent fish were maintenance and repair, installation of reservoirs, and construction of artificial wetlands around them. The present study offers basic information on the diversity of fish species in different Wetland Protected Area types that can be used to inform conservation and management decisions for WPA.
In this study, to identify ichthyofauna of the Seomjin River, which has no barrage at estuary, and to estimate effect of estuary barrage, fish sampling was conducted at 16 study sites in mainstream of the Seomjin River from 2010 to 2012. A total of 54 species classified into 17 families were collected. Cyprinidae was the dominant family and Zacco platypus (relative abundance, RA: 47.8%) was identified as the dominant species. In total, 17 Korean endemic species (31.5%) were collected, and it is higher than the average endemic rate of Korean peninsula (22.5~25.9%). Although the relative abundance of exotic species (1.1%) was low, it is higher than the past studies (2002: 0.0%, 2009: 0.4%). Dominance index of freshwater region (St.4~St.16) was relatively higher than estuary (St.1~St.3), because Z. platypus showed high relative abundance at freshwater region. But diversity and evenness index showed contradictory results, as estuary was higher than freshwater region. The ratios of sea fish, peripheral freshwater fish and economic fish, and diversity index are higher than the Nakdong River, the Yeongsan River and the Geum River. In conclusion, to conserve the value of the Seomjin River ichthyofauna, continuous monitoring is necessary.
Biodiversity (or biological diversity) is defined as the variability of living organisms, the "diversity of life on Earth," and the complex relationships that make up ecosystems. This study aimed to investigate the spatial and temporal patterns in animal species composition and diversity at the Deukjin River, located in Hapcheon Province, Korea. The fauna community at the Deukjin River during 2016 season was identified with a total of 55 taxa, representing the following six classes: Mammalia (mammals), Actinopterygii (bony fish), Chondrichthyes (cartilaginous fish), Aves (birds), Amphibia (amphibians), Reptilia (reptiles), and invertebrates. The Berger - Parker index (BPI) for mammals varied from 0.233 (Station A) to 0.333 (Station D). The Shannon - Weaver index (H') and two diversity indexes (N1 and N2) for mammals and birds in the upper region were higher than those in the lower region. The values of ${\beta}$-diversity for animals varied from 0.229 for fish to 0.339 for invertebrates. The richness indices for animal taxa also varied among the stations and seasons. Station A showed considerably high richness in mammals, birds, and reptiles/amphibians. Although the richness indices (R1 and R2) for six animal kingdoms during the seasons were different from each other, the difference was not significant (p<0.05). The evenness indices for five animal kingdoms were different from each other, but again, the difference was not significant (p<0.05).
Rock bream (Oplegnathus fasciatus) is a highly valued aquaculture species in Korea. However, the aquaculture industry suffers huge economic losses due to rock bream iridovirus (RBIV) infection in summer. The objective of this study was to determine genetic diversity and relationships of DNAs isolated from two groups of rock bream after RBIV infection using five microsatellite (MS) markers. The first group of fish died early and the second group of fish died later after RBIV infection. In this experiment, 90 fish (5.1±1.0 cm and 4.1±1.3 g) were injected with 50 μl of RBIV (104 TCID50/ml) and maintained at 26℃ for 15 days. Genomic DNAs were extracted from fins of 20 fish that died earlier or later after RBIV infection. These DNAs were subjected to genotyping using five MS markers (CA-03, CA3-05, CA3-06, CA-10, and CA3-36). Of these markers, CA3-05 (early death group), CA3-06 (late death group), and CA3-36 (both early and late death groups) showed different alleles distribution rates. In-depth studies are needed to provide valuable information for selecting RBIV-resistant fish. In conclusion, microsatellite marker distribution pattern differences between early- and late- death groups of rock bream after RBIV infection showing different RBIV susceptibilities were determined using MS markers and genotyping. Results of this study suggest that MS markers could be used to facilitate the selection of RBIV resistant rock bream.

Digital character rigging is an important technology to improve animation vividness, and there are many kinds of complex ways of rigging system. To move naturally, the fish are tested for movement. Because 2,4 family role information although some, but the study of fish (0 family) action information is not much. As the diversity and complexity of fish production increases, inefficient time and capital are required. How to build a fish-like skeleton system depends on how to build an efficient and agile rigging program. The aim of this study is to compare the Advanced Skeleton-based animation process with Maya Rig, which can solve the high time-cost rigging problem, and to explore the best automatic plug-in based on the advantages of Advanced Skeleton, broadening the research scope of fish animation.
Feeding habits of Micropterus salmoides were investigated from the stomach contents of specimens ranging from 13 to 511 mm in standard length (n = 419), which are collected in the Lake Okjeong, Korea, 2006 to 2007. M. salmoides is a very strong carnivorous fish eating living organisms such as lots of fishes, small amount of aquatic insects and shrimps. As they grow, the feeding habits changed : they fed mainly on Branchioda in 10 to 20 mm in SL., aquatic insects and small fishes in 30 to 50 mm in SL., fishes including Zacco platypus, Hemiculter eigenmanni and Rhinogobius brunneus over 50 mm. However, among the prey organisms, M. salmoides most preferred living fishes. Analysing ichthyofauna of the Lake Okjeong from 1981 to the present investigation, after and before introduction of M. salmoides, it was showed that there was a certain reduction in fish diversity. Consequently, it is likely to let the strongly fish-eating habit to reduce a diversity of native fishes in the lake.
Influx of exotic fishes is the reason of destruction of the ecosystem and Eco-Diversity Recently, River project was conducted to consider environmental function. Therefore, farmlands structure along the river was removed such as vinyl greenhouse. In order to supply water eco-diversity, ecological park was built. In spite of nature river improvement, the ecological system in river will be break down by exotic fishes. This study was conducted to investigate analyze the fish faun and prevailing species occupancy in Nakdong river. This data will be used to make the management plan of exotic fishes in ecological park around Nakdong river.
