Ro-Ro 구역용 미분무 소화설비의 개발을 위한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on development of water mist fire-fighting systems for Ro-Ro spaces)

  • 선박의 Ro-Ro 구역이나 특별범주구역의 화재방호를 위해 설치하는 고정식 수계소화설비의 개발 및 실용화를 위해, 특히 방수량이 적으며 관련기준에서 요구하는 성능요건을 만족하는 미분무 노즐을 개발하고자 실물화재실험을 수행하였다. 본 설비의 화재시나리오는 크게 두 가지로 트럭화물화재와 승용차화재로 구분되며, 각각 고정 설치된 미분무 노즐과 화원과의 세 가지 위치에 대한 시나리오로 이루어져 있다. 모든 화재실험은 30분간 진행되었으며 천장부의 가스온도와 우드펠릿의 손상율, 타깃합판의 착화여부로 판단되었다. 본 논문은 두 가지 화재실험 중 조건이 더욱 까다로운 트럭화재용 미분무 노즐의 결과를 위주로 방수압력과 방수량, 미분무수의 유동특성에 따른 화재실험결과와 화재진압특성을 고찰하였으며, 수십 회의 반복실험 결과 분당 약 40 L의 유량을 가지는 저압 미분무 노즐로 Ro-Ro구역의 화재진압이 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

  • A series of experiments were conducted to study the effectiveness of the extinction of a liquid pool fire with two different water atomizing nozzles. Fire source is small-scale circular stainless steel pan of 120mm in diameter with the fuels of hexane and ethanol. K-type thermocouples were used to measure the flame and fuel temperature along the pool centerline and under fuel surface. A digital camera was used to visualize the process of the fire suppression. The experimental results show that water mist droplet size is $115{\sim}180{\mu}m$ with nozzle A and $130{\sim}190{\mu}m$ with nozzle B. The extinguishing time of pool fire was reduced with the increase of pressure. When water droplets are small, they do not reach the flame base since they may be deflected or evaporated by the fire plume. However, influence of flow rate is more important than droplet size on fire extinction. Among the fire extinction mechanisms, drop of flame temperature is superior to suffocation of O2 concentration.

  • In this paper, as there are many cases of fires occurring due to the failure or inoperability of the thermostat of electronic products, the purpose is to test and analyze the risks and probabilities through fire cases and reproduction experiments, and suggest countermeasures. Among electronic products, water purifiers are composed of a refrigerant system with a compressor to make cold water, a heating device to make hot water, and an electric device used as an energy source. Due to the nature of the water purifier manufacturing, these devices are subject to a lot of moisture and dust. etc. exist in large quantities and use electrical energy, so there is a possibility of fire due to short circuit in the wire, electrical abnormal overheating (tracking phenomenon) in the thermostat, electronic board, starting relay, etc., and overheating of the heating device (Band Heater). there is. Therefore, in order to prevent fires from these devices, a system to remove foreign substances inside the water purifier is necessary, the use of heat-resistant (fire-resistant) wires for electrical devices is essential, and the use of non-combustible materials (semi-combustible materials) for each part is necessary to prevent fire. The risk must be eliminated through prevention and combustion expansion prevention devices.

재래시장의 화재확산 방지를 위한 수막설비 설치 지침 (The Water Curtain Installation Guideline for Fire Spread Prevention in Market)

  • This paper aims to suggest the water curtain installation guideline for prevention of fire spread. The water curtain systems play a role in preventing fire spread which is caused by fire flames and radiation heat release from a fire source. The radiation attenuation ratio is affected by the water droplet size, vertical distance from the nozzle and flow rate. This study suggests the water curtain installation guideline as follows : (1) Investigation of a reference store array (2) Calculation of the number of drencher heads (3) Review of the relationship between droplet size and attenuation factor depending on the height of the drencher head (4) Review of a drencher head array and spray overlapping. The reference traditional market in which a fire compartment is installed using a water curtain can be predicted to have a radiation attenuation ratio of 50%.

알칼리 금속염을 함유한 미분무수의 헵탄 Pool Fire 소화 (Extinguishment of n-heptane Pool Fire by Water Mist Containing Alkali Metal Agent)

  • An experimental study is performed for extinguishing of n-heptane pool fire by water mist containing potassium acetate as a fire suppression additive. Water mist was generated by a single pressure nozzle in a small-scale chamber. The drop size distribution of water mist was measured using laser diffraction(Malvern particle sizer). The flame temperature, oxygen concentration and carbon monoxide concentration were measured. In case of using additives, the fire extinguishing time was shorter than that of pure water at a given discharge pressure and it was because the momentum of a water droplet containing additives was increased. And also dissociated metal atoms, potassium, were reacted as a scavenger of the major radical species OH, H which were generated for combustion process. Moreover, at a high pressure of 4MPa, the fire was extinguished through blowing effect as well as primary extinguishing mechanisms.

  • This paper is study about establishment with water membrane sprinkler in fire prevention block of special Building. The testing program was directed toward investigating the temperature of fire and adjacent room. The results of fire test indicated that under the test conditions in this study, adjacent room temperature is very low in compare with fire room temperature at operating of water membrane sprinkler. Therefore, if exclusion of smoking can be soluted, substitution of water membrance sprinkler in fire resistance wall of fire prevention block is possible.

도로터널 저압 물분무설비 화재진압 실험 (Fire Suppression Experiment for Road Tunnel Low Pressure Water Spray Systems)

  • The real scale fire suppression test inside a road tunnel were carried out for water spray systems. The dimension of the tunnel is 7.5m in height and 11.6m in width. 3 different water spray nozzle systems with low operating pressure less than 3.5 bar were used in the experiment. Two types of fires were tested. One is a $1.4m^2$ heptane pool fire and the other is a 2000CC passenger car fire. From the experiment, the spray densities of tested systems were about $6.0\;l/min/m^2$ which is currunt domestic guideline. Although all the systems cannot extinguish the tested fires, it was found that they can reduce the tunnel temperature and have a capability to control and suppress the tested fire.

  • 이 연구는 옥내소화전설비에 자동화점추적 기능을 부가하여 화재 발생위치에 따라 방수노즐이 이동하여 유효하게 방수하는지를 방수중심 지향여부, 방수범위 유지여부, 방수형태의 일관성 유지여부로 구분하여 실험하고 결과를 고찰하였다. 첫째, 방수중심 실험결과는 최초 화원의 중심을 찾는 정확도는 시스템 설계에 있어서 유효한 결과를 도출하게 됨을 확인하였다. 둘째, 방수범위 실험결과 방수최대반경의 물 분사를 하는 경우 방수범위의 오차는 허용공차 범위 내에 들어가는 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 방수형태 실험결과 형태의 변화 없이 정상동작하여 설정블록에 대하여 설계상태가 이상 없음을 확인하였다.

  • Reliability of fire protection systems is often discussed, written about, and even put into codes and standards. However, reliability is seldom considered for the fire protection system as a whole. Why does this happen and why should the designer consider the system as a whole\ulcorner Existing codes and standards incorporate the concept of reliability usually In the form of key component redundancy for some parts of a system. The "Fire Safety Concepts Tree" presented in the National Fire Protection Association Guide 550, Guide to the Fire Safety Concepts Tree, provides a starting point for considering the performance of a water based fire suppression system. Considering fire protection objectives for water based fire suppression systems, means of evaluating system reliability can be developed. This development requires identification of system components that are significant to the overall system reliability.

가솔린 화재의 소화를 위한 수분무의 특성 (Characteristics of Water Spray for Extinguishment of Gasoline Pool Fire)

  • This study discribes characteristics of water spray for extinguishment of gasoline pool fire. Experiments are carried out for the gasoline pool fire in a small tank with a diameter of 150mm and a height of 8mm. Droplet size, spray pressure, amount of water which reaches the flame base and velocity of water spray are measured to find extinguishment conditions and air entrainment due to the water spray is visualized. Critical conditions of water spray for extinguishment of gasoline pool fire is quantitatively shown.
