Climate change not only has various impacts such as human shoes, economics, the environment, industry, etc. but the damage caused by this is also increasing, it is expected that severe damage will not occur without efforts to respond to climate change ing. Therefore, as the impact of climate change like the extreme weather phenomenon is dailyized and its strength tends to become stronger, as much as the mitigation measures of climate change, as a comparative effort to reduce the negative impact of climate change, adaptation to climate change is necessary. Especially when the damage caused by climate change (intense heat, torrential rain, cold wave and heavy snow etc.) as an institution responsible for the provision of public services such as public institutions, the socio-economic spread to the nation and the people The effect is very large. We confirmed the level of response to climate change for the entire public institution, and selected climate change risk which is relatively important for specific facilities and business establishments of public institutions, climate change adaptation measures We will try to utilize it as basic material of establishment.
Previous earthquakes show that, structural safety evaluations should include the evaluation of nonstructural components. Failure of nonstructural components can affect the operational capacity of critical facilities, such as hospitals and fire stations, which can cause an increase in number of deaths. Additionally, failure of nonstructural components may result in economic, architectural, and historical losses of community. Accelerations and random vibrations must be under the predefined limitations in structures with high technological equipment, data centers in this case. Failure of server equipment and anchored server racks are investigated in this study. A probabilistic study is completed for a low-rise rigid sample structure. The structure is investigated in two versions, (i) conventional fixed-based structure and (ii) with a base isolation system. Seismic hazard assessment is completed for the selected site. Monte Carlo simulations are generated with selected parameters. Uncertainties in both structural parameters and mechanical properties of isolation system are included in simulations. Anchorage failure and vibration failures are investigated. Different methods to generate fragility curves are used. The site-specific annual hazard curve is used to generate risk curves for two different structures. A risk matrix is proposed for the design of data centers. Results show that base isolation systems reduce the failure probability significantly in higher floors. It was also understood that, base isolation systems are highly sensitive to earthquake characteristics rather than variability in structural and mechanical properties, in terms of accelerations. Another outcome is that code-provided anchorage failure limitations are more vulnerable than the random vibration failure limitations of server equipment.

In this study, it is proposed that an analysis method using charatersistics curve of PICV in the CFD simulation for hydronic system. From the results, the pressure drop characteristics appeared in the region of PICV at a specified flow rate. And the CFD results are in good agreement with the experimental results. Proposed analysis method is proved that the characteristics of PICV applied to the hydronic system were properly applied in the flow analysis. This result can be applied to PICV in the complex hydronic systems. Therefore, the optimal selection of PICV in hydronic system contribute the building energy saving.
Of the Korean military's 3,959 ammunition depots, 1,007 - more than 25% - violate safety requirements for distance and equipment. There is a risk of explosion in old depots that are vulnerable to various interior and exterior accidents. This paper examines 10 scenarios, with varying values for ammunition amount and safety distance. The study calculated the overpressure that can be applied to risk-exposure objects, based on the safety distance; expected damage was predicted using constructed spatial information from 3D explosion simulations. The simulations confirmed that explosion overpressure increased the most when the safety distance violation rate increased from 80% to 90%. It also confirmed that secondary damage such as fire and explosion can cause casualties and property damage when the violation rate is 60% or higher. The results show that building collapse becomes a risk with a violation rate of 70% or higher. We conclude that taking ammunition depot safety distance violation into account when planning military facilities and their land utilization could better protect life and property.

Chemical accidents are increasing day by day as the industry develops. To prevent such chemical accidents, Korea enacted the Chemicals Control Act. Through these laws, systematic management of chemical substances began. There are various positions in the companies. hazardous chemical supervisors, equipment and technical human, operators and employees. Chemicals-related education for each position should be provided. As a result of the survey, hazardous chemical supervisors and equipment and technical human liked the overall content of the Chemicals Control Act and the education subject on safety management standards for facilities. Conversely, the operators liked the course on how to wear personal protective equipment. The employees preferred subjects such as classification of chemical substances and prevention of chemical accidents. Currently, various modular textbooks are widely available. Rather than general education, it is necessary to select and provide customized subjects that are preferred and interested according to the position. Then it will be more effective in understanding harzardous chemical substances and in preventing chemical accidents.

Operating and decommissioning nuclear power plants generates radioactive waste. This radioactive waste can be categorized into several different levels, for example, low, intermediate, and high, according to the regulations. Currently, low and intermediate-level waste are stored in conventional 200-liter drums to be disposed. However, in Korea, the disposal of intermediate-level radioactive waste is virtually impossible as there are no available facilities. Furthermore, large-sized intermediate-level radioactive waste, such as reactor internals from decommissioning, need to be segmented into smaller sizes so they can be adequately stored in the conventional drums. This segmentation process requires additional costs and also produces secondary waste. Therefore, this paper suggests repurposing the no-longer-used spent nuclear fuel casks. The casks are larger in size than the conventional drums, thus requiring less segmentation of waste. Furthermore, the safety requirements of the spent nuclear fuel casks are severer than those of the drums. Hence, repurposed spent nuclear fuel casks could better address potential risks such as dropping, submerging, or a fire. In addition, the spent nuclear fuel casks need to be disposed in compliance with the regulations for low level radioactive waste. This cost may be avoided by repurposing the casks.

In this paper, through the development of a smart panel (LCD kiosk) controller, contents to develop a system that can be operate in a desired environment by operating the window control and ventilation facilities according to the automatic controller operation based on the set values such as temperature, humidity, sunlight, and rainfall. In particular, the MQTT protocol-based sensor module can be directly manufactured and applied at any time based on various communication and power sources such as wireless, wired, and PLC (power line communication) to obtain the desired data, as well as fire, power failure, and intrusion in the house. It is also a system that enables operation and monitoring from a remote location based on the cloud environment by connecting sensors. Kiosks are currently being used in many places, and the demand for them is on the rise, and an active influx of young people can be expected through environmental improvement. It is expected to increase interest and understanding for improvement.

Major industrial accidents in which workers die due to fires or explosions while working at chemical substance handling workplaces continue to occur. Among the major industrial accidents that occurred between 2005 and 2021, the accident status by work situation and equipment was analyzed. Through analysis, it was confirmed that storage, reaction, and piping facilities were the main causes of the accident, and a self-checklist for each facility was developed. Verification was conducted through the supply and use groups to evaluate the suitability of the use, duties, and items of the self-checklist. The user group showed higher satisfaction than the supplier group for all three suitability of use, job, and item. In particular, since the inspection items of the self-checklist were organized around the cause of the accident derived through the analysis of actual accident cases, the satisfaction level was high in all groups. It is expected that the self-checklist developed through this study will be useful not only for large companies but also for small and medium-sized chemical industries that lack professional manpower.

The underground utility tunnel is an urban infrastructure that accommodates and manages important facilities such as water and sewage, electricity, and communication in the city, and is a national facility that needs to be protected from disasters such as fire, earthquake, and flooding. In establishing a disaster safety life cycle management system such as prediction, prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery, a disaster safety management platform for underground utility tunnel is being developed by utilizing digital twin technology in which advanced ICT technology and data are converged. In this paper, the maturity model for the disaster safety digital twin was reviewed, and the datasets necessary for implementing the digital twin at each stage were defined.
This study aims to introduce a method for risk assessment analysis aimed at preventing electrical fires within the manufacturing industry. Initially, we provided a functional block diagram illustrating the electrical equipment employed in various processes within a food manufacturing company in Chungcheongbuk-do. Subsequently, we categorized the components of each machine outlined in the functional block diagram and determined the priority of failure for each classified component. Upon implementing the model in the frying process of the food manufacturing company, specific components, including MC, motor, mixer heater, electric wiring, and terminal block, exhibit a risk priority number (RPN) of 40 or higher. This identified an electrical issue within the manufacturing process and environment. Consequently, we propose a methodology to identify latent failure modes that could escalate into fires or systemic issues if not promptly addressed. It is essential to note that while the FMEA presented in this study may not immediately impact food manufacturing, its applicability extends to various workplaces.
