Measurement of the Device Properties of Fixed Temperature Heat Detectors for the Fire Modeling (화재모델링을 위한 정온식 열감지기의 장치물성 측정)

  • The high predictive performance of fire detector models is essentially needed to assure the reliability of fire and evacuation modeling in the process of Performance-Based fire safety Design (PBD). The main objective of the present study is to measure input information in order to predictive the accurate activation time of fixed temperature heat detectors adopted in Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) as a representative fire model. To end this, Fire Detector Evaluator (FDE) which could be measured the device properties of detector was used, and the spot-type fixed temperature heat detectors of two thermistor types and one bimetal type were considered as research objectors. Activation temperature and Response Time Index (RTI) of detectors required for the fire modeling were measured, and then the RTI was measured for ceiling jet flow and vertical jet flow in consideration of the install location of detectors. The results of fire modeling using measured device properties were compared and validated with the experimental results of full-scale compartment fires. It was confirmed that, in result, the numerically predicted activation time of detector showed reasonable agreement with the measured activation time.

As the small from the fire extinguisher as the large to the sprinkler system of automatic fire extinguishing equipment the kinds are various. With the development of architecture technique while modern higher buildings are increased. As fire is a first product that human make, it performed many profits and services for our mankind. Sometimes as it is profitable fire or harmful fire, it takes charge of human's life culture. With the development of architecture technique while modern Higher buildings are increased high level and fire prevent facilities aren't reached to that level. The object of this study is present the problem which appear from the analysis of place standard for fire protection facility. This study described as a following order. First. We are going to look history of the fire protection system and change course of that with the year and facility. Second, We say the frame system and special nature of the foreign fire prevent Act. Third. We understand the control reality of fire protection system. Fourth. We took out the merit of foreign fire prevent law and the problem of our current domestic system. The placing standard of proper fire protection facilities that be presented from this study are followed next. 1) We have reinforce sprinkler system placing standard for the fire extinguishing and check the spread of fire. 2) We must to be ruled the standard for keeping fire prevention system that are received reality and people's idea. 3) We should prepare lawful basis which can be place fire prevention center. 4) We have to correct the standard of use about complex building without mainuse and we take increase the real effectiveness of this. 5) We ought to match the use of current fire prevention act and the use of architecture law.

  • The OECD defines regulatory reform as both better regulation and deregulation, and emphasizes that governments must continue to regulate in areas such as environmental quality and safety. In contrast, Korean regulatory reform in fire services in the 1990s shows quite a strange trend, having been carried out only to the direction of softening and abolishing regulations. In the UK, fire prevention legislation has been strengthened since the enactment of the Fire Precautions Act 1971, and the Building Regulations 1991, which apply to all new buildings including a private house, require that there should be at least one smoke alarm on each floor. This research shows that the tightening of fire prevention legislation in the UK has promoted fire safety, which is very instructive for Korean fire services. In order for Korean fire services to protect citizens'lives and property from fires, one of basic directions of regulatory reform, to improve the quality of regulations relating to safety, health and the environment, should be observed strictly. Moreover, the flexibility of the basic direction of regulatory reform should be ensured so that the regulations concerning safety could be even increased under the overall reform strategy of reducing all regulations.

  • We have carried out the test using the cone calorimeter and the smoke density chamber to evaluate the characteristics of the combustion for the car interior materials passed horizontal burning test. We have analysed many parameters related to fire hazard. These parameters are the ignition time, the heat release rate, the maximum average rate of heat emission, the flashover propensity and specific optical density. There was a significant difference in HRR and optical smoke density. The HRR was $185{\sim}446kW/m^2$ and optical smoke density was $119{\sim}1207$. Only horizontal burning test was performed to evaluate the fire hazard for the car interior materials.

  • Fire Protection Industry is essential industry in order to protect our lives and property, and to mange stability in our lives. However, due to its insufficient law system and promoting strategy, no more development has been progressing. Accordingly, in this study, We are going to search and investigate the status and problems in domestic fire protection industry so that We can propose any directions for a way to improve these.

  • As cultural Heritages are source of the national history and a life transition, their extinction is a fatal shock as result of cutoff the genealogy of the creative national spirit. So, we have necessarily to protect them, and to get the duty and the responsibility which the cultural inheritance hands over tnem to descendants with preserving and meaning safely at present time. In these days, the risk of fire in the Cultural Heritages building is increased because of rash changing environments from the indiscreet development of them. Accordingly, in order to get the original transmission of the Cultural Heritages, this paper involves being intensive the fire safety information of the Cultural Heritage in kyonggi-do province, analyzing their diagnoses, and studying a Fire Safety Prevention Management model to protect and to maintain them continuously. Therefore, it is to contribute from this approach to collecting fire safety information, analyzing diagnostic problems in fire accidents, and to manage the prevention method for protecting and maintaining the Cultural Heritages.

  • 현 화재 감식 및 조사에서는 일반적으로 화재 조사관의 경험이나 지식으로 판단하는 사례가 있다. 그러나 PL법 및 실화책임법에 따라 국내에서도 과학적 화재조사방법론이 필요시되고 있으며 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 과학적 화재감식 및 화재조사방법론의 일환으로 FDS를 이용한 화재조사매뉴얼의 필요성에 대해서 조사하였다. 그러나 현재 FDS를 화재조사 및 감식에 무분별하게 이용하기에는 어려움이 있으며 이를 활용하기 위한 기초적 화재데이터의 수집이 필요하다고 판단된다.

  • 지하대공간은 특수한 가연물 및 높은 밀도의 화재하중을 지닌 가연물이 많으나, 국내 내화성능기준은 이를 고려하지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 슬래브실험체를 제작하여 표준가열곡선(ISO834)과 지하대공간의 화재하중을 고려한 화재조건으로 내화실험과 수치해석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과 모든 실험체에서 0.96~1.03로 10%내의 오차범위에 있는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

  • 유속을 측정하기 위한 다양한 기법들 가운데 양방향 저속 차압 프로브(bi-directional low velocity pressure probe)는 고온의 연소생성물이 존재하는 조건에서 화재유동장의 속도 측정에 가장 적합한 방법으로 인식되어 왔다. 그러나 양방향 유속계의 프로브 상수(probe constant)는 레이놀즈 수와 유동과 프로브의 받음각(attack angle)에 크게 영향을 받게 된다. 본 연구에서는 화재유동장 측정 기법들을 비교 평가하고 양방향 유속계의 받음각에 따른 프로브 상수의 변화를 실험적으로 평가하여 양방향 유속계의 측정 오차를 정량함으로서 화재 유동장 측정의 신뢰성 향상을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.
