딥러닝 샘플 생성을 위한 포아즌-볼츠만 방정식의 대수적 멀티그리드를 사용한 수치 예측 (An algebraic multigrids based prediction of a numerical solution of Poisson-Boltzmann equation for a generation of deep learning samples)

  • 포아즌 볼츠만 방정식 (Poisson-Boltzmann equation, PBE)은 생물물리, 콜로이드 화학 등에서 등장하는 문제들을 모델링하는데 사용되는 방정식이다. 따라서 PBE의 수치해를 효율적으로 예측하는 것은 중요한 이슈이다. 저자들은 기존의 연구에서 PBE를 풀기위한 딥러닝 방법을 제안하였으나, 딥러닝을 훈련하기 위한 샘플을 생성하는 시간이 컸다는 어려움이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 FEM 수치해를 생성하는데 걸리는 시간을 줄이는 두가지 방안을 마련하였다. 첫째로 대수 방정식을 만들 때 bilinar form에 포함되는 penalty 파라메터를 실험적으로 조정하였다. 두 번째로, 대수적멀티그리드 기법을 활용하여 대수 방정식의 컨디션 넘버를 meshsize와 무관하게 만들었다. 따라서 PBE 방정식의 대수 방정식을 풀 때 계산 시간을 효과적으로 줄였다. 이러한 대수적 멀티그리드를 사용한 방법은 다양한 분야에서 딥러닝의 샘플을 생성하는데 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

측면 절개된 판형 스프링으로 지지된 경수로 연료봉 진동의 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Study on the Vibration of the PWR Fuel Rod Supported by the Side-sloted Plate Springs)

  • One of the methods that are used to compare and verify the supporting performance of the spacer grids developed is the vibration characteristic test. A modal test in this paper is performed for a dummy rod 3,847 mm tall supported by eight New Doublet (ND) spacer grids. For the vibration test in air, nine accelerometers, one displacement sensor and one shaker are used for acquiring signals, and an I-DEAS TDAS software Is employed for analyzing the signals. Also, a finite element (FE) analysis is performed by a beam-spring simple model and a contact model simulating the contact phenomenon between the rod and the ND spring. And then, the results of the modal testing are compared with those of the FE analysis. The natural frequencies as well as the mode shapes obtained by the experiment have a greater similarity to the results by the contact model than the previous beam-spring model. In audition, for grasping whether or not the modal parameters are influenced by where shaking spot is, two kinds of tests are performed : one is for the shaker attached at the fourth span (center), the other is for the shaker at the fifth span that is one span nearer to the bottom of the rod. The latter shows higher MAC than the former Finally, the vibration displacements are measured in the range of 0.l12∼0.214 mm for the excitation force of 0.25∼0.75 N.

경수로 연료봉을 지지하는 5×5 지지격자체의 자유진동특성 (Free Vibration Characteristics of 5 × 5 Spacer Grid Assembly Supporting the PWR Fuel Rod)

  • This paper described the free vibration characteristics of Optimized H Type (OHT) spacer grids (SG) supporting the PWR fuel rod. The vibration test and the finite element (FE) analysis are performed under the free boundary condition and the clamped at two points (or three points) in the bottom which is the same one as the experimental condition for the dummy rod continuously supported by spacer grids. A modal test is conducted by the impulse excitation method using an impulse hammer and an accelerometer, and the TDAS module of the I-DEAS software is used to acquire and analyze the sensor signals. The softwares related to the FE analysis are the I-DEAS for the geometrical shape modeling and meshing, and the ABAQUS for solving. The fundamental frequency of the OHT SG by experiment under a clamped condition at two points is 175.18 Hz, and shows a bending mode. We think there is no resonance between the fuel rod and the SG because the SG's frequency is higher than that of the fuel rod existing in the range from 30 to 120 Hz. The fundamental frequency of the SG under the free boundary condition is 349.2 Hz showing a bending mode, and the results between the test and the analysis have a good agreement with maximum 7 % in error It is also found that the FE analysis model of the OHT SGs to analyze an impact, a buckling and vibration et al. has been generated with reliability.

  • It is important to identify dynamic characteristics of nuclear fuel components. Since the fuel always exposed to turbulent flow, the dynamic contact between grids and rods is one of the fuel failure modes. The dynamic behavior of grids in nuclear fuels is quite complex, since two pairs of spring support are placed in the limited space. The strap in a cell has single spring and double dimples and this paper focuses on investigation of the grid strap(Test Fuel Strap, TFS) vibration in one cell. To identify the grid strap vibration, modal analysis of the strap is performed using Finite Element Method (FEM). Modal testing on a $5{\times}5$ grid structure without rods is performed. The modal testing results are compared to analytic results. In addition, random test considering rod effect is performed about a $5{\times}5$ grid with rods under real contact condition in the air. Finally, the strap vibration of a $5{\times}5$ fuel bundle in INvestigation of Flow INduced vIbraTion(INFINIT) facility is measured in real fluid velocity condition without heating. It is shown that modal frequencies from the test are almost equal to those peak frequencies in the INFINIT test.

  • 두 개의 서로 다른 수문지질학적 성질을 갖는 다공성 매질이 대수층을 이룰 때, 수두분포를 적분방정식을 이용한 준해석적인 방법으로 구하는 방법을 연구하였다. 하단(下端)에서 지하수위(地下水位)의 위치가 알려져 있고, 하단(下端)에서의 경계조건이 일정수도 혹은 일정 유동량으로 주어질 때의 1차원 해석 알고리즘을 개발하고, 충적층(沖積層)(alluvium) 위에 석탄재(fly ash)를 매립하는 처분장의 경우에 적용하였다. 그 결과 얻어진 수두분포는 경계면 바로 윗부분에서 매우 큰 압력경사를 나타내었고, 이것이 수치해석을 어렵게 만드는 요인임을 발견하였다. 해석적으로 얻은 압력경사는 수치해석 수행시 격자(格子)의 배열을 어떻게 할 것인지에 대한 대안을 제시하였고, 그에 따른 수치해석 결과는 해석치와 근사함을 보였다.

  • Recently, much attention is imposed on the design of the fuel assemblies in the Pressurized Light Water Reactor (PWR). Spacer grid is one of the main structural components in a fuel assembly. It supports fuel rods, guides cooling water and protects the system from the external impact loads. Various space grids have been proposed and new designs are also being created. In this research, a new spacer grid is designed by the axiomatic approach. The Independence Axiom is utilized for the design. For conceptual design, functional requirements (FRs) are defined and corresponding design parameters (DPs) are found to satisfy FRs in sequence. Overall configuration and shapes are determined in this process. Detail design is carried out based on the result of the axiomatic design. For the detail design, the system performances are evaluated by using linear and nonlinear finite element analysis. The dimensions are determined by optimization. Some commercial codes are utilized for the analysis and design.

  • Owing to the increasing number of intelligent homes(or called Smart home), the corresponding cost is much higher. Low voltage circuit breakers are widely used in the intelligent homes to interrupt fault current rapidly and to assure the reliability of the power supply. The distribution of magnetic field induced by arc current in the contact system of molded case circuit breaker depends on the shape, arrangement, and kinds of material of grids. This paper is focused on understanding the interrupting capability, more specifically of the grid and the arc runner, based on the shape of the contact system in the current MCCB. The magnetic driving force was calculated by using the flux densities induced by the arc current, which are obtained by three-dimensional finite element method. There is a need to assure that the optimum design required to analyze the electromagnetic forces of the contact system generated by current and the flux density be present. This is paper present our computational analysis on contact system in MCCB.

  • 항공기의 기체 생존성에 있어서 연료탱크는 중요한 부분이다. 회전익 항공기의 연료탱크는 자기 밀폐성과 내충돌성의 기능을 필요로 한다. 이에 따라 고기능유연연료탱크를 필요로한다. 이 논문에서는 상용 소프트웨어인 MSC.DYTRAN을 이용하여 연료탱크의 낙하시험을 시뮬레이션 하였다. 연료탱크 낙하 시험 시 시험 큐브의 파손 없이 내충돌성 요구조건을 만족하는지 알아보았다.

NUMERICAL MODELLING OF SEDIMENT TRANSPORT IN CONNECTION WITH ARTIFICIAL GRAIN FEEDING ACTIVITIES IN THE RIVER RHINE

  • The bed evolution of the stretch of the River Rhine between km-812.5 and km-821.5 is characterised by general bed degradation as a result of the river training works and dredging activities of the last two centuries. The degradation of the river bed affects the water levels, and so the navigation conditions. To combat the erosion of the river bed with the aim to keep up the shipping traffic and to avoid the ecological system damages due to water level reductions, sand-gravel-mixtures were added to the river (so called artificial grain feeding activities). This paper presents the results of an application of a graded sediment transport model in order to study morpholodynamical characteristics due to artificial grain feeding activities in the river stretch. The finite element code TELEMAC2D was used for flow calculation by solving the 2D shallow water equation on non-structured grids. The sediment transport module SISYPHE has been developed for graded sediment transport using a multiple layer model. The needs to apply such graded sediment transport approaches to study morphological processes in the domain are discussed. The calculations have been carried out for the case of middle water flow and different size-fraction distributions. The results show that the grain feeding process could be well simulated by the model.

Shape Optimization of the H-shape Spacer Grid Spring Structure

  • In pressurized light water reactor fuel assembly, spacer grids support nuclear fuel rods both laterally and vertically. The fuel rods are supported by spacer grid springs and grid dimples that are located in the grid cell. The support system allows for some thermal expansion and imbalance of the fuel rods. The imbalance is absorbed by elastic energy to prevent coolant flow- induced vibration damage. Design requirements are defined and a design process is established. The design process includes mathematical optimization as well as practical design method. The shape of the grid spring is designed to maintain its function during the lifetime of the fuel assembly. A structural optimization method is employed for the shape design. Since the optimization is carried out in the linear range of finite element analysis, the optimum solution is verified by nonlinear analysis. A good design is found and the final design is compared with the initial conceptual design. Commercial codes are utilized for structural analysis and optimization.
