마찌니 조반니 파올로 더블베이스의 마감층 재현연구 (A Reproduction Study on Finishing Layer of Double Bass, Maggini Giovanni Paolo)

  • 국내 악기 박물관에 전시되어 있는 악기는 목재, 석재, 금속, 가죽, 흙 등 다양한 재질로 구성되어 있다. 그 중 유기재료로 제작된 악기는 시간 경과에 따라 물리적·화학적·생물학적인 손상이 발생한다. 이러한 악기를 보존·복원하는 경우, 소리를 내는 악기라는 특성상 악기재료의 연구뿐만 아니라 제작자의 의도와 제작기법에 대한 연구가 동시에 진행되어야 한다. 이에 따라 17세기에 제작된 더블베이스를 대상으로 마감층을 연구하였다. 마감층은 표면관찰과 FT-IR, SEM-EDS를 이용한 정성분석을 실시하였고 바탕재인 목재 수종분석을 통해 제작자가 사용한 재료와 제작기법을 확인하였다. 목재 수종은 단풍나무류로 식별되었고 수지의 일종인 곰마라카(Gommalacca)를 주 용매인 알코올로 혼합하여 마감처리를 진행하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 마찌니 조반니 파올로(Maggini Giovanni Paolo) 더블베이스 마감층 제작방법을 재현하여 바이올린을 제작하였다.

Finishing 용 전자빔 집속 장치의 성능 실험 (Performance Experiment of Electron Beam Convergence Instrument)

  • Finishing process includes deburring, polishing and edge radiusing. It improves the surface profile of specimen and eliminates the alien substance on surface. Deburring is the elimination process for debris of edges. Polishing lubricates surfaces by rubbing or chemical treatment. There are two types for electron finishing. The one is using pulse beam. The other is using the convergent and scanning electron beam. Pulse type device appropriates the large area process. But it does not control the beam dosage. Scanning type device has advantages for dosage control and edge deburring. We design the convergence and scan type. It has magnetic lenses for convergence and scan device for scanning beam. Magnetic lenses consist of convergent and objective lens. The lenses are designed by the specification(beam size and working distance). In this paper, we evaluate the convergence performance by pattern process. Also, we analysis the results and important factors for process. The important factors for process are beam size, pressure, stage speed and vacuum. These results will be utilized into systematizing pattern shape and the factors.

마그네토리오메타 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fabrication of Magnetorheometer)

  • A new, commercially available polishing process called magnetorheological finishing is used to polish and figure precision optics. To understand and model this process correctly it is important to determine the mechanical properties of the fluid under the influence of the magnetic field. Magnetorheological (MR) fluids are commonly modeled as Bingham fluids, so one of the essential properties to measure is the yield stress. Since MR fluids are inherently anisotropic, the yield stress will depend on the mutual orientation of the magnetic field and the direction of deformation. The relative orientation of the field and deformation in polishing does not coincide with common rheological setups, so a new rheometer has been designed and tested. This new magnetorheometer design has been shown to give correct stresses during calibration experiments using Newtonian fluids with a known viscosity. The measured stress has also been shown to have a magnitude consistent with published finite element approximations for magnetic fluids. The design of the instrument was complicated because of the requirements imposed upon the magnetic field, and the difficulty in satisfying the no slip boundary condition. Our results show the importance of having a homogeneous field in the test region during measurements. The solutions to these problems and discussion of the measurements on nonmagnetic and magnetic fluids are given.

Influence of Surface Finishing Material Types to Formaldehyde and Volatile Organic Compounds Emission from Plywood

  • Formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted from wood-based panels that have been made using wood particles, wood fiber, wood chips, formaldehyde-based resins and so on. In this study, we examined formaldehyde and total VOCs (TVOC) emission behaviors for plywood overlaid with water-soluble phenolic resin impregnated linerboard (PL), and two kinds of surface materials (decorative veneer and pre-impregnated finishing foil) that were adhered onto the PL that named DPL and PPL. EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) was used to overlay the decorative veneer and pre-impregnated finishing foil on the plywood with water-soluble phenolic resin impregnated linerboard by a hot press instrument. The debonding test and accelerated aging test were conducted to assess their mechanical properties. Formaldehyde and TVOC emission concentrations were measured using the FLEC method and a VOC Analyzer, respectively. The debonding test results of PL, DPL and PPL were 1.2, 1.5, and $0.5N/mm^2$, respectively. The surface appearance of the samples were not changed after the accelerated aging test. The PL and DPL exhibited reduced formaldehyde and TVOC emission levels, respectively. In the case of PPL, the VOC value was relatively higher than those of PL and DPL.

복합레진 표면의 연마방법에 따른 표면조도 (SURFACE ROUGHNESS OF COMPOSITE RESIN ACCORDING TO FINISHING METHODS)

  • 본 연구는 복합레진의 종류와 연마방법, 복합레진 연마 후 레진전색제의 적용이 복합레진의 표면조도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 복합레진의 표면조도 측정과 FE-SEM 관찰을 통하여 상호 비교하였다. 미세입자형과 nanofill 복합레진을 이용하여 $8{\times}3{\times}2mm$의 시편을 각각 100개씩 제작하였고, 연마방법과 레진전색제의 적용 유무에 따라 20개의 군으로 분류하였다. 복합레진의 종류에 따라 Micronew를 사용한 군은 M군, Filtek Supreme을 사용한 군은 5군으로 분류한 후, 연마방법에 따라 M1 과 S1군 은 polyester strip만을 사용한 군, M2군와 S2군은 Sof-Lex disc를 사용한 군, M3군과 S3군은 Enhance disc와 polishing paste를 사용한 군, M4군과 S4군은 Astropol disc를 사용한 군, M5군과 S5군은 carbide finishing bur를 사용한 군으로 다시 분류하였다. 또한 연마 후 Biscover 레진전색제를 적용한 군은 연마방법에 따른 각 군에 B를 추가하여 M1B군-M5B군 및 S1B군-S5B군으로 분류하였다. 제작된 모든 시편은 표면조도의 측정과 주사전자 현미경 관찰을 시행하기 전에 실온의 증류수에서 24시간 동안 보관하였다. 표면조도측정기를 사용하여 각 시편의 상면과 하면 모두에서 각각 5회씩 측정하여 평균 표면조도 값을 산출하여 통계적으로 분석하였으며, 각 군에서 대표적인 시편 1개를 선택하여 FE-SEM에서 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 복합레진의 표면조도 값은 polyester strip에 의해 형성된 모든 군에서 가장 낮게 나타났고, 레진전색제를 적용한 S군을 제외한 다른 모든 군에서 finishing bur로 연마한 군이 가장 높게 나타났다 (p<0.05), FE-SEM 관찰에서 레진전색제를 적용하기 전의 표면은 polyester strip을 사용한 M1군과 S1군이 가장 평활한 표면을 나타냈고, finishing bur를 사용한 M5군과 S5군은 필러의 탈락에 의해 형성된 여러 개의 기포와 함께 울퉁불퉁한 표면을 보였다. 2. 복합레진의 종류에 따른 표면조도는 레진전색제를 적용하기 전에는 통계학적으로 차이를 나타내지 않았으나, 레진전색제를 적용한 후에는 Micronew가 Filtek Supreme보다 평활한 표면을 나타내었다 (p<0.05), 3. 레진전색제를 적용하기 전에는 복합레진의 종류와 연마방법에 따른 표면조도 간에 상호 연관성이 있었으나, 레진전색제를 적용한 후에는 복합레진의 종류와 연마방법 간에 상호 연관성이 없었다. FE-SEM관찰에서 레진전색제를 적용한 후의 표면은 모든 군에서 대체적으로 평활한 표면을 나타내었다. 4. 동일한 복합레진과 연마방법으로 처리된 군에서 레진전색제 적용 전과 후의 표면조도 값은 M1B군이 M1군보다, S1B군이 S1군보다 통계학적으로 높게 나타났으며, M4B군과 M5B군은 각각 M4군과 M5군 보다. 그리고 S5B군은 S5군 보다 통계학적으로 낮게 나타났다 (p<0.05). 본 연구를 종합하여 보면, 복합레진의 종류에 따라 표면조도의 순서는 다르게 나타났고, polyester strip 하에서 복합레진이 중합된 경우 가장 낮은 표면조도 값과 평활한 표면을 제공하였으며 전반적으로 anishing bur는 가장 높은 Ra값과 거친 표면을 제공하였다. Enhance, Astropol, carbide finishing bur로 연마한 표면은 레진전색제의 사용으로 평활한 표면을 얻을 수 있었지만, polyester strip과 Sof-Lex disc로 얻어진 표면은 레진전색제의 사용으로 표면조도의 개선이 이루어지지 않았다.

Efficacy of reciprocating and rotary retreatment nickel-titanium file systems for removing filling materials with a complementary cleaning method in oval canals

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy of the S1 reciprocating system and the D-Race retreatment rotary system for filling material removal and the apical extrusion of debris. Materials and Methods: Sixty-four freshly extracted maxillary canines were shaped with size 10 and size 15 K-files, instrumented using ProTaper Gold under irrigation with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), obturated according to the principle of thermo-mechanical condensation with gutta-percha and zinc oxide eugenol sealer, and allowed to set for 3 weeks at 37℃. Subsequently, the teeth were divided into a control group (n = 4), the D-Race rotary instrument group (n = 30), and the S1 reciprocating instrument group (n = 30). After classical retreatment, the canals were subjected to a complementary approach with the XP-Endo Shaper. Desocclusol was used as a solvent, and irrigation with 2.5% NaOCl was performed. Each group was divided into subgroups according to the timing of radiographic readings. The images were imported into a software program to measure the remaining filling material, the apical extrusion, and the root canal space. The data were statistically analyzed using the Z-test and JASP graphics software. Results: No significant differences were found between the D-Race and S1 groups for primary retreatment; however, using a complementary cleaning method increased the removal of remnant filling (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Classical removal of canal filling material may not be sufficient for root canal disinfection, although a complementary finishing approach improved the results. Nevertheless, all systems left some debris and caused apical extrusion.

CCM을 이용한 변퇴색 견뢰도 등급의 판정 및 New Fastness Formula에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Colour Fastness by CCM and New Fastness Formula)

  • A new fastness formula based on CIEDE2000 color-difference formula is developed by B. Rigg and his coworkers. It is very simple to calculate fastness grade for color change than ISO 105-A05 fastness formula based on CIELAB color-difference formula. Sample pair sets which cover a wide range color space were accumulated from NCS(Natural Color System) color book. For those sample pair sets, visual measurement experiment and instrument measurement experiment of fastness grade were carried out and each performance of ISO 105-A02 fastness formula and newly developed fastness formula was compared through degree of agreement for visual measurement result. Newly developed fastness formula indicated improved performance for measuring fastness grade but current ISO fastness formula for assessing change in color, ISO 105-A05, was confirmed that it's performance is inadequate to measure fastness grade. Then fastness formulae were examined more closely according to particular color spaces and the correlation of hue, lightness and chrom for measuring fastness grade was also considered in this study.
