Oil과 Modified Styrene을 사용(使用)한 미립(微粒) 무연탄(無煙炭)의 응집(凝集) (Agglomeration of fine anthracite using oil and modified styrene)

  • Fine anthracite is very difficult to upgrade by conventional processes such as gravity concentration or froth flotation, because large quantities of fine coals are generated at the mining and preparation stages and a significant portion of these fine coals are mixed with gangue minerals. This study, therefore, was carried out for the purpose of improving recovery of low ash clean coal, effective beneficiation of low-grade coking coal and removal of sulphur from high-sulphur coals by employing the method of selective agglomeration using oil or polystrene flocculants, for coals which are generally hydrophobic in nature will be extracted by using flocculants. Studies were performed by varying solid concentration, concetration of bridging liquid, mixing speed and mixing time, balling speed and balling time, dispersant dosage, flocculant dosage, pulp pH, and particle size. The results were : when the methods of the oil agglomeration and selective flocculation were employ(in the two process the sample was ground to the size of -74 micron), 1) ash content of the agglomerated coal was 9.85, 7.83%, 2) combustibel recovery of it was 98.5%, 93.5%, respectively. It was observed in selective flocculation that polystyrene is an effective flocculant for coal, De-entrapment of shale from the concentrate flocculated by mechanical agitation was necessary for substantional reductions in final ash content.

석분의 효과적인 이용에 관한 연구 (Effective Use of Aggregate Fines)

  • Portland cement concrete is made with coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, portland cement, water and, in some cases, selected chemical admixture such as air-entraining agents, water reducer, superplasticizer, and so on, and mineral admixture such as fly ash, silica fume, slags, etc. Typically, in the concrete, the coarse aggregate and fine aggregate will occupy approximately 80 percent of the total volume of the finished mixture. Therefore, the coarse and fine aggregates affect to the properties of the portland cement concrete. As the deposits of natural sands have slowly been depleted, it has become necessary and economical to produce crushed sand(manufactured fine aggregate). It is reported that crushed sand differs from natural sands in gradation, particle shape and texture, and that the content of micro fines in the crushed sand affect to the quality of the portland cement concrete. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the characteristics of fresh and hardened concrete with higher micro fines. This study provides a firm data to apply crushed sand with higher micro fines.

Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the characteristics of fresh and hardened concrete with high content of micro fines. 우리밀 Semolina의 이화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Characteristic of Korean Wheat Semolina)

  • 우리밀 semolina의 면류가공 산업현장에 적용될 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 제분과정 중 발생하는 coarse semolina (CS), medium semolina(MS), fine semolina(FS)의 이화학적 특성을 비교 분석하였다. 실험에 사용한 semolina 모두가 FS를 제외하고는 $250{\mu}m$ 이상의 큰 입자가 약 75% 이상을 차지하였고, MS의 경우 durum semolina(DS)와 가장 유사한 입도분포를 나타내었다. 조단백, 조회분은 DS가 유의적으로 높게 나타났고, 우리밀 semolina는 CS, MS, FS 순으로 감소하였다. 조지방은 DS가 가장 낮게 나타났고, CS, MS, FS는 유의적 차이를 나타내지 않았다. L값은 작은 입도분포를 많이 가질수록 높게 나타났고, 손상전분은 DS와 FS에서 낮게 나타났으며, CS에서 가장 높은 손상전분을 나타내었다. 아밀로오스 함량 또한 비교적 작은 입도분포를 가지는 DS와 FS에서 각각 29.80%과 29.08%로 높게 나타났으며, 물결합력은 DS가 가장 높았고, 우리밀 semolina의 경우 FS에서 높게 나타났다. 용해도와 팽윤력에서도 낮은 손상전분과 작은 입도분포를 가지는 FS에서 높게 나타났다. 미세구조 관찰시 FS와 MS에서 가루로부터 깨끗하고 뚜렷한 작은 전분입자가 파열되지 않고 전분 입자형태를 유지하면서 가루 표면에서 떨어져 나와 있는 전분립들을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과로부터 제분에 의한 semolina의 이화학적 특성변화가 많이 일어남을 알 수 있으며, 부가적인 제면특성 검사를 통해 FS의 면류가공 적용이 가능하리라 생각된다.

Effects of Aerosol Hygroscopicity on Fine Particle Mass Concentration and Light Extinction Coefficient at Seoul and Gosan in Korea

  • The sensitivity of aerosol light extinction coefficient to the aerosol chemical composition change is estimated by (1) calculating the aerosol water content and chemical concentrations by a gas/particle equilibrium model and (2) calculating the aerosol light extinction coefficient by a Mie theory based optical model. The major chemical species are total (gas and particle phase) sulfuric acid, total nitric acid, and total ammonia which are based on the measurement data at Seoul and Gosan. At Seoul, since there were enough ammonia to neutralize both total sulfuric acid and total nitric acid, the dry ionic concentration is most sensitive to the variation of the total nitric acid level, while the total mass concentration (ionic concentration plus water content) and thus, the aerosol light extinction coefficient are primarily determined by the total sulfuric acid. At Gosan, since the concentration of ambient sulfuric acid was the highest among the inorganic species, sulfate salts determined aerosol hygroscopicity. Thus, both ionic and total mass concentration, and resultant aerosol light extinction coefficient are primarily determined by the sulfuric acid level.

인천지역 항로 준설토의 침강자중압밀시험에 의한 유보율 결정에 관한 연구 (Retention Ratio of Dredged Soil at Incheon Habour Route using Self-Weight Consolidation Test)

  • 준설 매립 부지의 최종 계획고를 얻기 위한 초기 준설 매립량과 매립두께를 결정하고 자중압밀에 소요되는 시간을 예측하기 위해 인천지역 항로 준설 시료에 대한 자중압밀시험과 공학적 특성을 분석하였다. 준설투기된 시료의 시간경과에 따른 함수비, 간극비 및 체적변화비에 관한 인자를 Yano의 경험식을 이용하여 평가하였다. 세립분 함유율이 낮은 경우 침강압밀계수의 변화폭이 작게 나타났으며, 세립분 함유율 50%에서 가장 크게 나타났다. 자중압밀에 따른 체적변화비를 이용하여 준설매립공사에 제시된 입도별 유보율의 포괄적인 측면을 보완할 수 있는 세립분 함유율에 따른 유보율을 산정하여 제시하였다.

하천 및 호소 퇴적물 입도분석 방식의 비교와 입도에 따른 중금속물질의 분포경향 (Comparison of Particle Size Analysis and Distribution of Heavy Metals in River and Lake Sediments)

  • 한강, 낙동강, 영산강, 금강의 하천 및 호소퇴적물을 대상으로 건식체질법, 습식체질법, 광산란법(PSA) 등의 입도분석법을 비교연구 하였다. 건식체질법의 경우 건조과정에서 발생하는 엉김현상에 의해 오차가 크게 발생하며 이러한 현상은 호소시료의 경우 두드러지게 나타났다. 습식체질법은 건식체질법에 비해 복잡하고 노동력이 보다 많이 필요하지만 정확한 분석이 가능하며 PSA의 경우에도 습식체질과 유사한 경향을 나타내었다. 엉김현상을 방지하기 위한 동결건조 및 과산화수소수에 의한 유기물의 산화/동결건조의 경우 엉김현상을 일부 개선할 수 있었으나 여전히 습식체질에 비하여 미세입자의 분율이 적게 나타났다. 입도별 중금속의 용출량 및 함유량이 조사되었으며 예상된 바와 같이 호소 및 하천시료 모두 미세입자에서 높은 농도의 중금속이 용출되었다. 퇴적물의 관리에 있어서 정확한 입도분석법의 사용과 미세입자에 대한 관리가 보다 중요하다.

2015년 봄철에 선박으로 관측한 서해상 이차에어로졸 성분의 농도 및 오염 특성 (Concentration and Pollution Characteristics of Secondary Aerosol Components Over the Yellow Sea by Ship-Borne Observation in Spring, 2015)

  • The $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ particles over the Yellow Sea of Korea were collected by ship-borne observation during two cruises in spring, 2015. Their water-soluble ionic components such as $NH_4^+$, $Na^+$, $K^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, $SO_4^{2-}$, $NO_3^-$, $Cl^-$, $F^-$, $CH_3COO^-$, $HCOO^-$, and $CH_3SO_3^-$ were analyzed, in order to examine the pollution characteristics of the secondary aerosol components. The comparative study of particle size distribution has resulted that $NH_4^+$, $nss-SO_4^{2-}$, $nss-Mg2+$, $nss-K^+$, $HCOO^-$, and $CH_3SO_3^-$ species mostly existed in fine particle mode. Meanwhile, nss-F-and sea-salt species were distributed in both fine and coarse particle mode, $NO_3^-$, $nss-Ca^{2+}$, $CH_3COO^-$ species were rich in coarse particle mode. The concentrations of secondary pollutants($nss-SO_4^{2-}$, $NO_3^-$, $NH_4^+$) increased in fine particles, and those of natural components ($nss-Ca^{2+}$, Sea-salt) increased in coarse particles. $NH_4^+$ exists as the form of $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ and $NH_4NO_3$, and mostly as $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ in fine particles. $NH_4NO_3$ has lower content compared to $(NH_4)_2SO_4$, and it mostly existed in fine particles at Yellow Sea I and in coarse particles at Yellow Sea II. The concentration ratios of $NO_3^-/nss-SO_4^{2-}$ for Yellow Sea I and Yellow Sea II were 0.52 and 0.16 in coarse particles, and they were 0.64 and 0.38 in fine particles, respectively, showing that the stationary source emissions were more important than mobile source emissions in Yellow Sea II (except Passage II-4).

  • This study aims to investigate the usage of nano-scale particles in a micro metal injection molding ($\mu$-MIM) process. Nanoscale particle is effective to improve transcription and surface roughness in small structure. Moreover, the effects of hybrid micro/nano particles, Cu/Cu and SUS/Cu were investigated. Small dumbbell specimens were produced using various feedstocks prepared by changing binder content and fraction of nano-scale Cu particle (0.3 and $0.13{\mu}m$ in particle size). The effects of adding the fraction of nano-scale Cu powder on the melt viscosity of the feedstock, microstructure, density and tensile strength of sintered parts were discussed.

Ethyl Silicate를 고순도 $\beta$-SiC미분말 합성에 관한 연구(I) 반응조건과 $\beta$-SiC의 생성율 및 특성 (A Study on Synthesis of High Purity $\beta$-SiC Fine Particle from Ethylsilicate(I) -Reaction Conditon, Yeild and Properties of $\beta$-SiC-)

  • In order to obtain the high purity $\beta$-SiC powder that possesses the excellent sinterability and is close to the spherical shape, the carbon black was mixed into the composition of Si(OC2H5)4-H2O-NH3-C2H5OH which the monodispersed spherical fine particles is formed the hydrolysis of Ethylsilicate and the mixture was carbonized under an argon atmosphere. Particle shpae, size and the yield of $\beta$-SiC powder were investigated according to the molar ratio of carbon/alkoxide and variations of reaction temperature and reaction time. The results of this study are as follow ; 1) The yield of $\beta$-SiC gained from the reaction for one hour at 150$0^{\circ}C$ almost got near 100% and the particle size of $\beta$-SiC from the reaction for 15 hrs at 150$0^{\circ}C$ was 0.2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ on the average and close to the spherical shape agglomerate state. 2) When the molar ratio carbon/alkoxide is over 3.1 and the reaction occurs at 145$0^{\circ}C$ for 5hrs, the carbon content has not an effect on the kind of crystal of product.
