Fenestrated popliteal vein pierced by a branch of the tibial nerve

  • Knowledge of anatomical variations is important so as to avoid potential iatrogenic injury or misdiagnosis on imaging. Here we report an unusual finding and relationship between the tibial nerve and popliteal vein. During the routine dissection of an adult cadaver, it was noted that a branch of the tibial nerve in the popliteal fossa pierced the most distal part of the popliteal vein. This unusual finding is described and relevant reports in the literature discussed. Our hopes are that such a report might help surgeons avoid injury to such a fenestrated popliteal vein and the tibial nerve branch traveling through it therefore decreasing patient morbidity.

초등교사와 예비교사의 수학 수업에 대한 신념 분석 (Analysis on the Belief about Mathematics Teaching of Elementary Preservice Teachers and Mathematics Teachers)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학교에서 수학을 가르치고 있는 초등교사들과 교육대학교에 재학 중인 예비교사들이 수학 수업에서 수학 지도에 초점을 두는 지식과 수학적 활동에 대해 어떤 신념을 가지고 있는가를 조사 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 수학 지도에 초점을 두는 지식에 대한 15개 문항과 수학 지도에 초점을 두는 수학적 활동에 대한 19개 문항으로 구성된 설문지를 만들었고, 초등교사 114명과 예비교사 100명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 수학 지도에 초점을 두는 지식에서는 예비교사들이 개념적 지식에서 초등교사들보다 높은 점수를 나타내었고, 초등교사들은 절차적 지식과 메타 인지적 지식, 인식적 지식에서 예비교사들보다 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 그리고 수학 지도에 초점을 두는 수학적 활동에서는 지식의 표현, 지식의 생성, 지식의 심의, 지식의 발표에서 예비교사들이 초등교사들보다 높은 점수를 나타내었고, 지식(구문)의 사용에서 만 초등교사들이 예비교사들보다 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 초등교사들과 예비교사들 간에 차이가 있는가를 검증하기 위하여 독립표본 t-검정을 실시한 결과, 유의미한 차이가 나는 수학적 지식과 활동의 항목이 나타났지만, 전체적으로 예비교사들과 초등교사들은 다양한 수학적 지식과 활동을 강조하고 있었다.

허혈성 심질환자의 질병관련지식, 불안 및 환자역할행위 이행과의 관계 (A Study on the Correlations among Knowledge, Anxiety and Compliance of Patient Role Behavior of Outpatients with Myocardial Ischemia)

  • Purpose: This study is to provide effective care to each individual with myocardial ischemia by finding out how the patient's knowledge related to the disease and anxiety level affect his/her compliance of patient role behavior. Methods: The subjects of study were 100 patients diagnosed as ischemic heart disease at a university hospital located in Gyeonggi Province. The data were collected from May 19, 2008 to August 30, 2008. A cross-sectional descriptive survey was done using a structured questionnaires. Results: The average score of knowledge level about myocardial ischemia was $22.24\pm5.07$(out of 31), anxiety level was $54.68\pm9.15$(out of 80), and compliance of patient role behavior was $34.28\pm6.00$(out of 50). A significant correlation between the patient's level of knowledge and his/her compliance of patient role behavior was found(r=0.239 p=0.017). The patients who are females, singles, without occupation, have a long term being diagnosed, under-educated, tend to be excellent in their compliance. Conclusion: The patient with a higher level of knowledge is better in his/her compliance of patient role behavior. Therefore, it is suggested that we need to develop nursing intervention to increase knowledge level as well as consistent educational support.

중동호흡기증후군 관련 교육과 의과대학생의 개인 위생 실천도 (Education on Middle East Respiratory Syndrome and Personal Hygiene Practices of Medical Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to inquire into the knowledge of medical students on the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and evaluate whether infection prevention education impacts students' level of knowledge and individual hygiene practices. This study also investigated the route by which medical students obtain disease-related information. The study involved a survey conducted in August of 2015 at two medical schools in Busan. In the first year to fourth year, a total of 345 students are enrolled (111 students in A school and 234 students in B school). Before the study was carried out, university A performed infection prevention education related to MERS, but B did not. We used self-developed questionnaires to survey the demographic characteristics, routes of acquisition of MERS information, degree of knowledge of MERS, educational satisfaction, and personal hygiene practices before and after education. Knowledge level differences according to gender and year in school were not statistically significant. Students obtained their information about MERS from various news media sources and the Internet, and through social network sites. Students practiced sanitary control behaviors in an average of 2.2 manners (standard deviation=0.95). The level of knowledge of MERS revealed a positive correlation with the frequency and total numbers of personal hygiene practices. This finding suggests that the infection prevention education program played a role in knowledge acquisition and personal hygiene practices for the medical students. In order to provide accurate and reliable knowledge of disease and preventive health behavior to medical students, continuous and well-planned education programs are necessary.

라이트봇을 활용한 컴퓨팅 사고력에서 지식 정보의 진단 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Diagnosis Method of Knowledge Information in Computational Thinking using LightBot)

  • 현대 사회는 다양한 분야의 문제를 컴퓨터와 접목하여 새로운 방향으로 생각하고 문제를 해결할 필요가 있다. 이렇게 자신만의 아이디어로 컴퓨팅 기술을 활용하여 다양한 문제를 추상화하고 자동화하는 것을 컴퓨팅 사고라고 한다. 본 논문에서는 프로그래밍 교육 상황에서 다양한 문제를 제시하고 이를 해결하기 위해 다양한 문제해결 방식을 찾도록 하는 과정을 통해 컴퓨팅 사고 기반의 지식 정보를 어떻게 진단하고 향상시킬 수 있는지를 분석하고자 한다. 학습자를 진단하기 위해 사전 검사와 라이트봇을 수행하고, 그 결과의 상관관계를 파악하여 학습자의 지식 상태를 체크한 뒤, 문제 해결 학습 기법에 따라 강의를 진행한 평가 결과와 라이트봇 수행 결과의 상관관계를 분석하여, 제안하는 기법에 따라 학습한 학습자들의 집단 평균 성적을 비교 분석한 결과 학습효과가 유의미하게 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 문제해결을 위한 컴퓨팅 사고력 기반의 지식 정보를 도출하고 향상시키는 기법을 소프트웨어 교육에 적용한다면 학생들의 흥미와 관심을 유도하여, 학습 효과가 높아질 것이다.

Breast Cancer Knowledge and Screening Behaviour among Women with a Positive Family History: A Cross Sectional Study

  • Background: Breast cancer is the commonest type of cancer among women, and in Malaysia 50-60% of the new cases are being detected at late stages. Do age, education level, income, ethnicity, relationship with breast cancer patients and knowledge of breast cancer risk factors influence breast screening practices? This study revealed interesting but significant differences. Objectives: To assess the knowledge of breast cancer risk factors and early detection measures among women in a high risk group. Materials and Methods: A cross sectional survey of one hundred and thirty one women relatives of breast cancer patients was carried out. Participants were selected through purposive sampling, during hospital visits. A self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. Results: The majority of the respondents (71%) had poor knowledge of the risk factors for breast cancer. Income, relationship with a patient and practise of breast cancer screening predicted performance of mammography, $R^2$=0.467, F=12.568, p<0.0001. Conclusions: The finding shows inadequate knowledge of breast cancer risk factors and poor cancer screening practise among women with family history of breast cancer. Poor knowledge and practise of breast screening are likely to lead to late stage presentation of breast cancer disease. Some important predictors of breast cancer screening behaviour among women with positive family history of breast cancer were identified. An understanding of the strengths and significance of the association between these factors and breast screening behaviour is vital for developing more targeted breast health promotion.

R&D 전주기 지원형 과학기술 지식인프라 통합서비스 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Building of Integrated Service for Science and Technology Knowledge Infrastructure Supporting the Entire R&D Cycle)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 R&D 활동에 도움이 되는 다양한 과학기술 지식인프라를 통합적으로 서비스하기 위한 통합서비스 구축 방법을 정의하고 실제 구축 사례를 보이는데 있다. 아이디어 생성/개발, 펀딩파악, 과제수행, 성과창출 확산 등 R&D 전주기별로 산재되어 있는 지식인프라들을 서비스·기능·정보·데이터 측면에서 세분화하여 연계, 융합함으로써 한 곳에서 이용자가 원하는 지식인프라를 적시에 제공할 수 있는 통합시스템 구축 방법을 제시하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 통합서비스가 개별 지식인프라 서비스의 물리적 통합이 아닌 논리적 연계·통합을 고려하여 통합서비스 분류체계, 통합수준모델, 통합아키텍처, 이용자 통합인증체계를 정의하여 통합서비스 구축의 효율성과 유사 통합서비스 구축시 참조모델로의 확장성을 고려하였다.

소음성난청 예방교육 실시에 따른 소음에 대한 인식 및 태도, 예방행위 비교 (Comparison of the Knowledge, Attitude and the Preventive Behavior of Noise According to Noise-induced Hearing Loss Prevention Education)

  • Purpose: The research were conducted to identify the knowledge, attitude and the preventive behaviour of noise according to noise-induced hearing loss prevention education and to provide primary data for effective noise-induced hearing loss prevention education for noise-exposed workers. Method: 104 noise-exposed workers were included in this study. The instrument used in this study was knowledge, attitude and preventive behavior of noise tool by Lee & Lee(1996). The first data were collected before the noise education from August to September, 2002. During 6 months, the education was provided, and then the second data were collected from April to May, 2003. Data were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 win program for finding frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: The results of this study were as follows: There were statistically significant differences of knowledge and attitude of noise related education level, and adhesion quality of wearing ear protection equipment after noise education. Also, otitis media's history, received education of the personal protective devices for the hearing conservation was significant in the preventive behaviour of noise. Conclusion: In conclusion, the noise-induced hearing loss prevention education was effective in changing the knowledge, attitude and the prevention behaviour of noise. Therefore, the noise-induced hearing loss prevention education is strongly recommended for noise-exposed workers and it will be necessary repeated education for changing prevention behaviour of noise.

성교육프로그램이 여중생의 성 지식과 성 태도에 미치는 효과 (Effect of the Sexual Knowledge and Sexual Attitude of the Middle School Women Students through Sexua l Education Program)

  • Purpose: This study aims at not only suggesting some ideas useful in planning and doing the sexual education in the middle schools in the near future putting into test the sexual education program which has been developed by researchers in accordance with the national education courses but also improve sexual health of the adolecents through taking right sexual knowledge and sound sexual attitude. Method: Non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The number of experimental group students was 37 and the number of controll group students was 37. A total of 74 first grade 'H'middle school girls at H district in KangWon-Do were selected for a convenience sampling method and have been taught the sexual education program during 6weeks, 12times. Result: The findings of the study are as follows: After the sexual education program, the sexual knowledge of experimental group show to be significantly different from that they had before(t=-5.861, p=.000). So, this finding indicating that the adolescent sexual education program helps the ado have and expand the correct sexual knowledge accordingly. In order to look into any change of the sexaul attitudes of experimental group after the sexual education program, there were not significant difference(t=-1.083, p=.286). But some items were significant. It is discovered that the adolescence come to have more affirmative and sound sexual attitude after sexual education program. Conclusion: As the findings of the study indicate, it may be concluded as follows: Since the sexual education program can affirmative influence on the sexual knowledge and sexual attitudes of the adolescence, it is recommendable to perform the sexual education program suitable for every stage of growth and development should be developed, qualified teachers and the educational materials should be reinforced and added enough and institutional device should be made to execute the sexual education program systematically.

치위생과 학생의 손 씻기에 대한 지식, 태도, 수행도 (Knowledge, Attitude, Performance on the Hand Washing by Dental Hygiene Students)

  • 본 연구는 치위생과 학생들의 손 씻기에 대한 지식도, 태도, 수행도를 분석하고자 2014년 9월 5일부터 11월 20일까지 K대학과 H대학의 치위생과에 재학 중인 학생 288명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 일반적인 특성에 따른 손 씻기 지식도를 보면 학년에서는 3학년 4.72점으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 스켈링 실습을 이수한 경우에 손 씻기 교육을 많이 받을수록 지식도가 높게 나타났고 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 일반적인 특성에 따른 손 씻기 수행도에서 손 씻기 교육 후 인식의 변화 '있다'가 4.17점으로 '없다' 4.03점보다 높게 나타났으며 유의한 차이를 나타냈다(p<0.05). 손 씻기에 대한 지식도, 태도, 수행도의 상관관계는 태도(r=-0.020)와 음의 상관관계를 보였고(p>0.05), 수행도(r=0.161, p<0.05)는 양의 상관관계를 나타냈으며 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 이상의 결론으로 치위생과 학생들의 올바른 손 씻기에 영향을 미치는 정기적인 손 씻기 교육프로그램을 개발하여 적용한다면 손 씻기에 대한 지식도, 태도, 수행도를 증진시키는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
