Quality system management adapted by small and medium enterprises in Kangwon province to enhance the competitiveness was studied. Variance analysis on several questionnaire answers was performed. Motives for acquiring the accreditation, such as product export, adjustment to international trend, enhancement of brand/product recognition, CEO's mind change, and management innovation, have been changed significantly among business types. Mind changes after the accreditations were setting company's first priority on quality, enhanced recognition on compliance of in-house standards and regulations, employee's performance with the recognition of quality. Amongst service problems to maintain the accreditations were difficulties in maintaining the recognition of the company's quality management, labor increase to maintain the ISO 9000 enforcement team, and financial burden to keep the accreditation. Quality recognition after the accreditations was significantly improved in setting company's first priority on quality, enhanced recognition on compliance of in-house standards and regulations, employee's performance with the recognition of quality.

Almost accidents in construction sites are occurred by unsafe work conditions and failure making safe environment. As recent construction projects become more complex, various and diversified, So the potential of construction-related accidents is increased as well. Comparing the frequency of construction-related accidents in large-sized construction sites, small-sized construction sites are more vulnerable because of lack of workforce and less effective technology system. Furthermore, the absence of safety committee, poor financial condition leads to lack of safety education, installation of safety facilities, and provision of individual protective equipment, which indicates difficulties handling even basic safety management. Therefore, in order to lower the hazard rate at small-Sized construction sites, it is necessary to proceed with more structural and thorough actions for preventing accidents. In other words, it is necessary to analyze the causes of the accidents at small-sized construction sites, set criteria for safety management, and suggest safety management items according to work classification by evaluating the relative importance of the items.

Due to the potential growing capability that reflects future value, the market value of internet business companies (IB) are still evaluated high although major players like Amazon continuously suffer losses. Then, how do investors valuate the potential growing capabilities given that traditional financial/accounting based valuation approaches seem to be inappropriate for IB. This study attempts to provide an answer to this issue. We, therefore, analyzed the predictability of various accounting and non-accounting variables for IB value. These include book value, net income, unique visitors, page view, reach rate, public float and institutional holdings. Because of being in infant stage and difficulties in obtaining necessary web traffic data, sample of 20 pure IB were selected from Korea Stock Exchange Market, KOSDAQ, and informal market. The results of this study showed that web traffic date had the strongest relationship with IB value. In particular, unique visitors and reach rate were found to be best predictors for IB value while page view was reasonable indicator. Interestingly, net income was not found to related to IB value. This calls for an attention to the typical characteristics of IB that my hinder the usage of traditional valuation approaches for IB. Another results revealed that none of both public float and institutional holdings was significantly associated with IB value, indicating market’s supply-demand factors were less important than traffic information.

Since the middle of 1990's, domestic apartment building suppliers have set up brand images to overcome the difficulties in financial situation after IMF foreign exchange crisis. The main trends in recent apartment buildings could be classified generally into several types, such as 'Ubiquitous Intelligent(standing for High-tech)', 'Walkable Community(community-friendly)', 'Eco-friendly', 'Ergonomic Humanity(Human Engineering)', 'e-easy Home through Internet(Digital Home)'. With those brand images, construction enterprises have been making inroads into local apartment markets, especially one of the region around Dae-gu. It is meaningful and worth researching and analyzing the local residents' preferences and tendencies to form marketing strategies of brand images. Here, this research and analysis is of pre-examination before getting down the study of this subject.

The environment of digital broadcast which represents as multi-channel and multimedia provides more crisis and pressure to newspapermen called as an uncrowned monarch in region of the press. The circulation of newspaper is declining dramatically and newspaper companies are turning their attention into digital broadcast in order to survive. Furthermore, besides of Chosun, Jung-Ang and Dong-A which are the three major newspapers in S. Korea, local newspaper companies are suffering from severe financial difficulties. However it could be an opportunity for digital broadcasters who undergo the lack of contents whether they are qualitative or quantitative. For the purpose of this study, it is to present a number of strategic approach in order that local newspapers outlast in the competitive digital broadcasting marketplace. Beyond the localism it intends to discuss about tapping into valuable newspaper contents as on-line journalism.

The purpose of this study is to explore strategies for development which could help academic libraries expand and strengthen their significances in the midst of structural innovations for universities in Korea. In this study, the trend in changes in academic libraries affected by financial difficulties and structural reforms in universities is analyzed, and major issues and challenges that academic libraries have currently faced are investigated. Also, reviewed are strategies that major academic libraries in advanced countries have built, and it is suggested how to establish strategies for development and medium-and long-term plan for improving academic libraries. which should be carried out on the government level.

Recently many small and mid-sized hospitals are closing down or experiencing financial difficulties. As a result, in order to provide exceptional service that would increase their competitiveness, they implemented telemedicine service for the prescription of medicine necessary before a colonoscopy. This study is an analysis of how telemedicine service affects patient satisfaction. Through the focus group interview (FGI) of medical service providers, regarding telemedicine service and face-to-face service, it was appraised that telemedicine service was more effective than face-to-face service. Afterward, a second survey aimed at endoscopy patients was conducted in order to find out the value of telemedicine service. First, through the analysis of the three main factors of telemedicine service, conclusions were drawn(safety/reliability, convenience/rapidity, and economics). A follow-up analysis showed that convenience/rapidity had the greatest effect on telemedicine service satisfaction. Next the factors of the quality of medical service were analyzed and 3 main factors were deduced (the superiority of the external and internal environments/appropriateness, superiority of the medical team, telemedicine service). A follow-up analysis found that telemedicine service had the greatest effect on patient satisfaction. This study found that providing exceptional medical service that utilizes telemedicine service would improve patient satisfaction. Therefore, we would be able to form a strategic plan that would strengthen the competitiveness of small and mid-sized hospitals.

The objective of this study was to develop an ecotourism planning model for Woopo area in Changryoung-Gun, Korea. To accomplish this objective, Ecotourism Planning Framework that was established from a previous study was applied into the study area as a case study. As a result, there was proved the necessity and justification of ecotourism development in Woopo area. Based on results in the basic environment survey, ecotourism themes were determined, then, space planning for proper facilities and programs was presented in this study. However, difficulties from public sections such as administrative, legal, and financial limitations must be considered in order to apply a master plan presented in this study into Woopo area.

This paper provides an overview of the experiences of the people's housing process (PHP) in South Africa. The discussion is done against the backdrop of the different outcomes of the government public housing provision initiative, commonly known as the Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) that directly produced more than three million subsidized housing to formerly segregated and disadvantaged populations. Notwithstanding the huge success in providing the much needed accommodation to such previously marginalized communities, the over-reliance on direct provision has the PHP ostensibly less impactful in housing delivery. Against the backdrop of the soaring housing backlogs, concerns with housing quality and the financial difficulties as well as the shrinking fiscal space; the article recommends improved support of the PHP. This can be achieved by the adoption of innovations that make land and minimal infrastructure and services available to the urban poor and to support their initiatives of self-building.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the job of Head hospital coordinators based on the DACUM(Developing A Curriculum) method. The contents of this study were to extract the duties, tasks and performance standards consisting of the job of a Head hospital coordinator and to investigate levels of importance, difficulties, frequency and entry level on each task, and to make out a job model of Head hospital coordinators. A DACUM committee(seven members) was composed to analyze the job of Head hospital coordinators and the committee members were totally nine : a facilitator, seven Head hospital coordinators and a recorder. This study was conducted in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from August to December, 2015. The major findings of this study were as follows; first, a Head hospital coordinator is defined to be an expert to create values and culture of a hospital, plan and manage hospital's efficient management methods to maximize customer satisfaction and improve the management of a hospital. Second, the job of Head hospital coordinators was categorized into total nine duties and sixty eight tasks. Third, duties in the job of Head hospital coordinators were classified into organization of medical management planning, medical management analysis, medical service quality management, hospital marketing, hospital customer management, hospital human resource management, hospital organization management, hospital financial management and self development.
