Color Simulation to Demonstrate the Effects of the Filter Layer with $CoAl_2O_4$ on Inner Face of CRT Panel

  • Nanosize cobalt aluminate($CoAl_2O_4$) power was coated as filter layer for us to improve the color purity and contrast performances on the inner face of CRT panel. We simulated color properties by measuring the transmittance and thickness of the coated filter layer. Contrast performance could be improved and color gamut was also changed by the selective light absorption of filter layer at 580${\sim}$605 nm.

  • In this paper, we study the performances of optical system design using the 1 panel LCD without color filter for projection color television. We analyze the optical efficiency compare this system with 1 panel LCD system using the color filter, and work out a constraint condition of 1 panel LCD without color filter for optical design. We design a high brightness 1 panel optical system using a complex reflection mirror and suggest a method of the optical system design.

  • In recent days, a wide angle for slim depth in CRT(Cathode ray tube) is required to meet other rapidly growing slim FPD such as LCD and PDP. However, in making the CRT with a wide angle screen, problems, such as a difficulty in forming black matrix, and excessive formation of black matrix, can be occurred. In this work, we designed a new exposure filter systm to avoid these problems for a wide angle CRT. We changed the design concept from a filter-to-Panel method to a Panel-to-fater control method, which can control the Black Matrix to easily satisfy the user's request. This study suggests new filter design method for a wide angle CRT which has good screen qualify.

  • Transparent dielectric layer having color-filter function in front panel for PDP(Plasma Display Panel) was successfully fabricated and characterized. Transparent dielectric layer in front panel was made of glass based on $PbO-SiO_2-B_2O_3$ ternary system. The change of properties with content variation of oxide colorants in transparent dielectric layer having color-filter function was systematically accessed. It was demonstrated that the optimized content of oxide colorants to parent glass could greatly increase up contrast ratio and color temperature without significantly degrading luminance.

  • A shielding effectiveness of mesh screen filter of plasma display panel (PDP) has been calculated in this paper. Since the screen filter is located near the radiation source, the near field wave impedance of the radiation source, i.e., the PDP electrodes, has been considered to calculate the shielding effectiveness. The near field shielding effectiveness of screen filter at 30${\sim}$300 MHz has been estimated to be more than 65${\sim}$80 dB. The measured shielding effectiveness of screen filter is 10${\sim}$50 dB at 30${\sim}$300 MHz[1]. The resulting discrepancy indicates that there are other EMI emission sources such as emission from PCB and cable besides the PDP electrodes.

  • In this paper, an automated line-defect detection method for TFT-LCD panel is presented. A DFB(Directional Filter Bank) and line-projection method are used to find line-defect which is one of the major defects occurred in TFT-LCD panel. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm gave promising results for applying automated inspection technique for TFT-LCD panel.

  • High Power factor Active Filter converter is used for Inverter Air conditioner power supply to meet IEC standard. In the active filter topology for power factor, extra switch just control the input current indirectly to meet the IEC standard for reducing the cost and size. In this paper, low cost converter was suggested by simulation using extra switch which auxiliary pulse is inserted and quasi resonant soft switching topology control is adapted for panel's inverter air conditioner converter Inserting auxiliary Pulse method to the extra switch has the benefit of reducing THD by low cost input control circuit. And also quasi resonant soft switching topology can reduce switching loss. So both technical is suitable for Panel's Air conditioner.

  • A high efficiency ZVS PWM asymmetrical half bridge converter for a plasma display panel (PDP) sustaining power modules is proposed in this paper. To achieve the ZVS of power switches for the wide load range, a small additional inductor L/sub 1kg/, which also acts as an output filter inductor, is serially inserted into the transformer's primary side. At that point, to solve the problem of ringing in the secondary rectifier caused by L/sub 1kg/, the proposed circuit employs a structure without the output filter inductor, which helps the voltages across rectifier diodes to be clamped at the output voltage. Therefore, no dissipative RC (resistor capacitor) snubber for rectifier diodes is needed and a high efficiency as well as low noise output voltage can be realized. In addition, since it has no large output inductor filter, the asymmetrical half bridge converter features a simpler structure, lower cost, less mass, and lighter weight. In addition, since all energy stored in L/sub 1kg/ is transferred to the output side, the circulating energy problem can be effectively solved. The operational principle, theoretical analysis, and design considerations are presented. To confirm the operation, validity, and features of the proposed circuit, experimental results from a 425W, 385Vdc/170Vdc prototype are presented.
