  • The most widely used scheme for detecting loss of excitation on generator is used to sense apparent impedance from generator terminals. This paper presents loss of excitation algorithm using DFT filter based negative offset mho elements for generator field protection. It's algorithm includes two negative mho characteristics looking in the generator. The generator control system was modeled by PSCAD/EMTDC software, and then the proposed algorithm was tested by the collecting relaying signals from selected the generator model. From simulation results, the loss of excitation algorithm can be used to field protection for generator.

And it is also possible to operate in the dual-band purpose. Futhermore, the inserted bandstop fiilter with T-type configuration is also possible to operate in the same purpose. The dual-band bandpass filter has the first operating frequencies and its bandwidth which are 5.8 GHz and 60 % respectively and the second operating frequency and the bandwidth are 16.2 GHz and 60 % respectively. The insertion loss and the return loss of the first frequency has 0.4 dB and 17.4 dB and the insertion loss and the return loss of the second frequency has 0.62 dB and 19.8 dB, respectively.

  • During the construction of vertical cutoff walls, filtration of bentonite slurry into the adjacent soil formation fabricates a layer of bentonite filter cake on the wall surface. The bentonite filter cake possesses much lower hydraulic conductivity compared to that of backfill materials in the cutoff wall. Hydraulic conductivity of bentonite filter cakes formed with three different types of bentonites has been measured by performing the modified fluid loss test under various pressure levels. Three different mixture ratios, 4, 6, and 8%, were selected for fabricating bentonite filter cakes to represent common field conditions. Two analysis methods for interpreting the experimental data from the modified fluid loss tests were employed to estimate hydraulic conductivity of the bentonite cakes. The range of hydraulic conductivities of the three bentonite cakes is between $2.15{\times}10^{-11}\;m/s$ and $2.88{\times}10^{-10}\;m/s$ which is 1 to 2.7 orders of magnitude lower than that of the design cutoff wall backfill. The stress distribution and thickness of the bentonite cakes were also evaluated in this paper.

  • A Loss-in-Weight (LIW) feeder, a type of automated measuring device, is a continuous feeder used in many mass production industries. Due to its versatility, there have been constant demands of LIW feeders in food production supply lines as well as chemical and pharmaceutical industries. In this paper, the process of designing a LIW feeder system with better performance will be examined and compared with commercial products. This system is characterized by low pass Butterworth filter and feed forward PI control. The filter is for noise disposal caused by dynamic condition of a LIW feeder. The feed forward PI control, based on linearity feature of feeders, is adequate for stable driving of the system. At the end, a possible evaluation method of LIW system will be proposed to verify the specific achievement of this paper.

  • Recently, one of remarkable tends in the development of optical communication industry is the miniaturization and integration of products. The alignment system of micro optical module is a key apparatus for the miniaturization of optical module and the development of optical communication parts with high functionality. In this research, we have developed a system capable of automatic alignment of a $30\mu\textrm{m}$-thick film filter and a lensed fiber in order to improve the speed and losses in the optical fiber-to-filter alignment of optical modules. Using the developed automatic alignment system and silicon optical bench, we have measured optical loss and characteristics of the assembled optical add/drop module before packaging $1{\times}1$ OADM optical module. Whole size of add/drop module was less than $5mm{\times}5mm{\times}1mm$. The measured maximum insertion loss was 0.294㏈ that is below 0.3㏈ which is a standard loss of optical module.

  • A spurious suppressed bandpass filter is proposed and discussed using the stepped impedance resonator(SIR) on a substrate-integrated waveguide(SIW) structure with a double-layer substrate. The second resonance of the fundamental $TE_{10}$ mode can be controlled by adjusting the electrical length and impedance ratio of each SIR. The spurious suppressed SIW bandpass filter shows the measurement results of the insertion loss of 3.98 dB and return loss of less than 11.58 dB at the center frequency of 12 GHz. Also, the second spurious frequency is improved to about $1.5f_0$ compared with $1.33f_0$.

  • In this paper, microstrip stepped-impedance hairpin resonator (SIR) lowpass filter f.PF) by surface rnicromachining on GaAs substrate is sugsested. This filter has the advantages of compact side, easy fabrication, and sharp cutoff frequency response. The new SIR LPF shows the 3 dB passband of dc to 33 GHz, the insertion loss of 0.82 dB, and the return loss of better than 17 dB up to 25.57 GHz. This filter is useful for many microwave system applications.

  • A new Fabry-Perot tunable filter has been built with simple construction, which does not require any additional aligning and/or beam-confining components for the reduction of the diffraction loss. For this feature, one of the two fibers for the filter is processed to have a concave mirror whose curvature is the same as that of the wavefront of the Gaussian beam from the first fiber. After high reflection coatings, the two fibers are aligned to result in an FP filter whose bandwidth, free spectral range, and insertion loss is 1.47nm, 52nm, 5.6dB respectively.

  • This paper introduces new wideband antenna-filter-antenna (AFA) uniform arrays that can be utilized as frequency selective surfaces (FSS) with low loss and sharp roll-off response, which are highly desirable characteristics for millimeter wave applications. The design adopts a simple 3-layer single polarization structure consisting of two patch antennas and a resonator. Both simulations and measurements are used to characterize the performances of the proposed design. Overall results show 18.5% 10-dB bandwidth. For the targeted band the insertion loss is less than 0.2 dB. Possible applications include quasi-optical amps, grid mixers and radomes for aircraft radar antennas.

  • A novel RF tunable bandpass filter structure using dielectric resonators and varactor diodes is considered for the optimization to achieve constant bandwidth with minimum passband insertion loss. The coupling between resonators is realized by coupling windows and series lumped L, C elements are used to realize the input/output stage couplings. A 5 poles, 0.01 dB ripple Chebyshev type filter tuned from 800 MHz~900 MHz is designed and presented in this paper. The passband bandwidth for the design is 10 MHz (fractional bandwidth = 1.2 %). Experimental results show that the 3 dB passband bandwidth variation is 12.04 MHz~12.16 MHz (less than 1 %) and passband insertion loss is 15 dB~7 dB depending on the tuning voltages.
