강화섬유와 세라믹이 충진된 NBR 고무 복합체의 기계적 물성 특성 (Mechanical Properties of NBR Rubber Composites Filled with Reinforced Fiber and Ceramics)

  • 본 연구에서는 NBR 고무의 물성을 향상시키기 위해서 충진재의 함량 조절 및 복합화를 통한 가황고무의 기계적 특성에 대해 실험하였다. 충진재는 내열성이 우수하다고 알려진 아라미드 섬유와 유리 섬유를 사용하였고, 상호보완 효과를 기대하여 세라믹을 적용하였으며, 적용된 세라믹 재료는 형상에 따라 침상구조의 세라믹과 판상구조의 세라믹을 적용하였다. 각 충진재의 기초 물성 조사를 위해 각 충진재는 5.0, 10.0, 15.0, 20.0 phr의 양으로 사용되었으며, 증량에 따른 물리적 특성을 비교 및 분석하였다. 세라믹 적용을 통한 상호 보완 효과를 확인하기 위해 각 10.0 phr 섬유와 세라믹을 1 : 1 복합 충진하여 기계적 물성 특성에 관한 평가를 하였다. 그 결과, 충진재 단독적용의 경우 아라미드 섬유, 침상 세라믹, 유리 섬유, 판상 세라믹 순으로 열 노화 후 인장강도 감소율이 작은 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 섬유와 세라믹 기반의 복합 충진재가 적용된 가황고무의 기계적 특성을 평가하였으며, 복합 충진재가 열 노화에 대한 상호보완 효과를 가지는 것을 확인하였다.

  • It is analyzed the erosing process of the polymeric insulator for outdoor use with the inclined plane method. Materials used are the different type of silicone rubber, they have the content of filler and component each other. As the content of filler added to improve the tracking and erosion resistance. It has the difference of electrical performance and erosion rate. The dry-band arc is also the parameter of accelerating erosion, and appear in the form of leakage current, and the activities of leakage current has a close relationship with the surface hydrophobicity. In this paper, the erosion growth is observed by measuring the time from the voltage application to the whole breakdown, and the erosion depth. In addition, it is measured the hydrophobicity and leakage current to be a cause of erosion by the erosion steps, studied SEM, EDX for observing the transformation of surface structure by erosing.

  • A bipolar plate is an important component in a fuel cell in the sense of cost and weight. This study aimed at developing highly conductive, lightweight, and low cost bipolar plates. Hybrid carbons filled poly(phenylene sulfide)(PPS) composite bipolar plates were prepared by using the compression molding technique. Various types and amounts of conducting carbon fillers such as graphite, carbon black, carbon fibers, and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were adopted for the composites. Electrical conductivity and mechanical properties of the composites were measured in order to investigate effects of each components of fillers. When the graphite is only used as a conducting filler, the electrical conductivity of the composites increases with increasing the content, but the flexural strength decreases dramatically. However, for CNTs and carbon fibers, the flexural strength initially increases and then decreases with increasing the amount of the conducting fillers. The amount of graphite corresponding to the peak of flexural strength was moved to lower content with increasing the amount of CNTs or carbon fiber. When hybrid conducting fillers such as fibrous and particulate fillers were used, the synergy effect in mechanical and electrical properties was observed.

석회석을 원료로 사용한 재생용지의 친환경 In-situ Filler로서의 광학적 특성 연구 (Optical Characteristics of Eco-friendly In-situ Recycled Paper with Limestone as Filler)

  • The study was performed with low-grade limestone, which is used to make cement or is disposed of due to its low CaO content. In this study, the optimal condition of limestone with which to manufacture precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) and limestone in fiber was determined through in-situ reactions. The best firing condition is with slaked lime with rapid cooling after 2 h of firing at $1000^{\circ}C$. In addition, the content of CaO can be increased by sorting the low-grade limestone using a 200 mesh filter, and the optical quality of old newspaper (ONP) was similar when using both low-grade and high-grade limestone. Also, controlling the particle size of PCC is an important factor pertaining to the optical characteristics of paper.

  • Highly porous silicon carbide (SiC) ceramics were fabricated from polysiloxane, SiC and carbon black fillers, AlN-$Y_2O_3$ additives, and poly (ether-co-octene) (PEOc) and expandable microsphere templates. Powder mixtures with a fixed PEOc content (30 wt%) and varying SiC filler contents from 0-21 wt% were compression-molded. During the pyrolysis process, the polysiloxane was converted to SiOC, the PEOc generated a considerable degree of interconnected porosity, and the expandable microspheres generated fine cells. The polysiloxane-derived SiOC and carbon black reacted and synthesized nano-sized SiC with a carbothermal reduction during a heat-treatment. Subsequent sintering of the compacts in a nitrogen atmosphere produced highly porous SiC ceramics with porosities ranging from 78 % to 82 % and a flexura lstrength of up to ~7 MPa.

고온 증기를 이용한 잎담배의 팽화연구 (Method for expanding tobacco leaves with steam at high temperature and velocity)

  • A study of expanding tobacco includes the steps of adjusting the moisture content of cut tobacco, without the use of exogenous impregnants by contacting the filler with a high velocity gaseous medium at elevated temperature such that heat is rapidly and substantially uniformly transferred from the medium to the filler for a total contact time sufficient to expand the tobacco leaves. Study is disclosed for drying and expanding cut tobacco by introducing the tobacco into an elongated tubular shaped conduit through which steam high temperature 150-35$0^{\circ}C$ and high velocity above the 18m1sec, super steam is recycled. moisture content of shreded tobacco leaves, immediately before treatment within the range of from 10% to 24% and, most preferably, within the range of from 18% to 21%. Expanding rate showed 70% in NC -82(B.3) and 42% in Burley -21(B.1) which is produced in 1993 under this condition. When expanding tobacco expanded tobacco did not change significally, but they were decreased at 27$0^{\circ}C$ very largely. The curtailment of cost price and physical and chemical properties of various items were improved in cigarettes. 모델예측제어 기법을 이용한 제지공정에서의 지종교체 제어 (Control of Grade Change Operations in Paper Plants Using Model Predictive Control Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 제지공정에서의 wet-end 와 dry section 부분을 통합한 모델을 구하고 이를 바탕으로 하여 지종교체 공정의 모델예측제어 방법을 제안하였다. 폐회로 공정 인식기법을 이용하여 state-space 모델을 구한 후 지종교체 제어를 모사한 결과와 실제 제지공장의 지종교체 운전데이터를 비교 분석하였다. 입력 변수로서 이전까지는 간과되어 왔던 4가지 변수(thick stock, filler flow, speed, steam pressure), 그리고 출력변수로서 3가지 변수(basis weight, ash content, moisture content)를 고려하였으며, output trajectory는 1차 전달함수 형식으로 하여 적용하였다. 모델예측제어 모사결과를 지종교체 운전데이터와 비교하여 본 결과 지종교체 시간이 짧아지고 보다 안정적으로 정상상태에 이르는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 아울러 모델예측제어로 인하여 지종교체 이후 입력 변수들이 큰 진동이 없이 보다 신속하게 정상상태에 도달함을 확인하였다.

보강성 충전제가 첨가된 SBR/BR 블렌드의 가황특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Vulcanization Characteristics of SBR/BR Blends Containing Reinforcing Fillers)

  • 가황반응에 대한 반응차수, 반응속도상수 및 활성화에너지, 가교결합에 의한 가교밀도 및 탄성상수를 동일한 가황시스템하에서 실리카와 카본블랙을 함유한 SBR/BR 블렌드에 대하여 조사하였다. 반응차수는 충전제 종류에 관계없이 1차 반응이었으며, 카본블랙이 첨가된 배합고무는 실리카가 첨가된 배합고무보다 반응속도가 빠르게 나타났다. 그러나 활성화에너지는 충전제 종류 및 고무 블렌드 조성에 관계없이 일정하게 나타났다. 가교밀도 및 탄성상수는 고무와 카본블랙간의 강한 상호작용으로 인해 카본블랙이 첨가된 조성물에서 높게 나타났다. 한편, 고무 블렌드중 부타디엔 고무 함량이 증가할수록 가교밀도 및 탄성상수는 감소하였다. 가황고무중 결합 황 함량 비교결과, 실리카가 첨가된 조성물중 일정한 결합 황 함량은 반응시작 후 20분 후에 나타났으나, 카본블랙이 첨가된 조성물은 10분 후에 나타났다. 또한 실리카가 첨가된 조성물은 카본블랙이 첨가된 조성물에 비해 반응 유도시간($t_2$) 및 최적 가황시간($t_{90}$)이 길게 나타났다.

Wear Particulate Matters and Physical Properties of Silica filled ENR/BR Tread Compounds according to the BR Contents

  • The demand for truck bus radial (TBR) tires with enhanced fuel efficiency and wear resistance have grown in recent years. In addition, as the issue of particulate matter and air pollution increases, efforts are being made to reduce the generation of particulate matter. In this study, we investigated the effect of varying the content of butadiene rubber (BR) on the properties of the rubber compounds and the amount of particulate matter in the TBR tire tread compound. Furthermore, we utilized carbon black in the NR/BR blend compounds owing to its excellent compatibility, and we used silica in the ENR-25/BR blend compounds because it can interact chemically with epoxide groups. The NR/BR blend compounds and the ENR-25/BR blend compounds were evaluated by varying their BR content between 20 phr and 30 phr. The results showed that the ENR-25/BR blend compounds had superior wear resistance than the NR/BR blend compounds. This was caused by the interaction between silica and ENR. In addition, it was confirmed that the increased wear resistance as the BR content increased. Furthermore, compared to the NR/BR blend compounds, ENR-25/BR blend compounds exhibited a lower tan 𝛿 value at 60℃ because silica was used as filler. This indicates a higher fuel efficiency. The measurement results for wear particulate matter showed that as increasing the BR content resulted in generation of less wear particulate matter. This was caused by the increased wear resistance. Moreover, the ENR-25/BR blend compounds with excellent filler-rubber interaction exhibited lower quantities of generated wear particulate matters as compared to the NR/BR blend compounds.

A Study on Mechanical Properties of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber Composites

  • The mechanical and dynamic properties according to the content of filler, plasticizer, and crosslinking agent of rubber composites for Lipseal were measured in this study. The mechanical properties of the composite including the silane coupling agent and silica were found to be superior to those of the composite containing carbon black. It was found that the rebound resilience characteristics were influenced by the crosslink density of sulfur rather than the filler or plasticizer. In the case of recovery, it was confirmed that the elastic restoring force improved in the compression deformation condition and recovery increased as the crosslinking density increased. The rubber composite for Lipseal of this study is expected to improve the manufacturing technology of the rubber composite which can implement the optimum function for recognizing the performance such as oil resistance, durability and compression set.
