  • Currently the Web, multiple files in the Client to upload to the server of the multi-upload method, files are stored in specific folders on the server, the file name field in DB(Database Field) stored in a way that the process has been widely utilized. Therefore, a minimum number of file upload as many file names in the Database and the Table should be created in the field, but also a variable number of files can be uploaded has no limits. In this paper we proposed the new method that files to be uploaded to the server, you can upload a limited number of files, nor due to upload files to reduce load on the database to improve the processing speed of a single field using a multi-method file uploads using PHP directly implemented

  • The improving performance and utilizing application fields of mobile devices are getting bigger and wider. With this trend, applications that use database engines on mobile devices are also becoming common. Applications requiring mobile databases include mobile server databases, edge computing, fog computing, and the like. By the way, the most representative and widely used mobile database is SQLite3. In this paper, we test and compare the update performance of SQLite3 by some file systems. The update performance of the file systems in the mobile environment is an important performance factor in the limited H/W environment. The comparison file system was chosen as FAT, Ext2, and NTFS. Under the same conditions, experiments with each file system to test update performance and characteristics were processed. From the experimental results, we could analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each file system for each database update pattern.

  • Recently, IoT sensors are often used to produce stream data locally and they are provided for edge computing applications. Mass-produced data are stored in the mobile device's database for real-time processing and then synchronized with the server when needed. Many mobile databases are developed to support those applications. They are CloudScape, DB2 Everyplace, ASA, PointBase Mobile, etc, and the most widely used database is SQLite3 on Linux. In this paper, we focused on the performance required for synchronization with the server. The search performance required to retrieve SQLite3 was compared and analyzed according to the type of each Linux file system in which the database is stored. Thus, performance differences were checked for each file system according to various search query types, and criteria for applying the more appropriate Linux file system according to the index use environment and table scan environment were prepared and presented.

  • The allocation of files is essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of a distributed system that must meet geographically dispersed data processing demands. In this paper, we address an optimization model that generates optimal file migration policies in distributed database systems. The proposed model is a more generalized model that includes system's capacity constraints - computing sites' storage capacity and communication networks' capacity - which have not taken into consideration in previous researches. Using this model, we can establish initial file allocation, file reallocation and file migration polices that minimize a system operating cost under system's capacity constraints at an initial system design or reorganization point The proposed model not only can be adopted by small-sized systems but also provides a foundation for effective and simple heuristics for adaptive file migration in large systems.

  • This paper presents an efficient algorithm to retrieve similar music files from a large archive of digital music database. Users are able to navigate and discover new music files which sound similar to a given query music file by searching for the archive. Since most of the methods for finding similar music files from a large database requires on computing the distance between a given query music file and every music file in the database, they are very time-consuming procedures. By measuring the acoustic distance between the pre-classified music files with the same type of emotion, the proposed method significantly speeds up the search process and increases the precision in comparison with the brute-force method.

  • This paper presents a technique for estimating distribution of data stored in a database. This technique is very useful for accurate selectivity estimation, which is essential in query optimization and physical database design. To maintain data distribution, we employ the directory of the multilevel grid file, a multidimensional dynamic file organization. The major advantage of our technique is that data distribution information is maintained dynamically in the multilevel grid file. In contrast, other static methods such as the histogram method use static date structures, which requires periodic restructuring. Furthermore, we propose a method for keeping the abstract information of data distribution in main memory. This is advantageous in the situation where the size of main memory is not sufficient. Finally, We also suggest formulas for calculating selectivies of various queries based on our data distribution information.

  • In most biological laboratory, sequences from sequence machine are stored into file disks as simple files. It will be hard work to store and manage the sequence data with consistency and integrity such as storing redundant files. It is required needed to develop a system which integrated and managed genome data with consistency and integrity for accurate sequence analysis. There fore, in this paper, we not only store gene and protein sequence data through sequencing but also manage them. We also make a integrate schema for transforming the file formats and design database system using it. As integrated schema is designed as a BSML, it is possible to apply a style language of XSL. From this, we can transfer among heterogeneous sequence formats.

  • Various input data required for water quality modeling have considerable impacts on modeling results and relevant analysis due to the absence of data standardization and lack of data accuracy. With this in mind, this study mainly focused on the designing Korean Reach File for more effective water quality modeling through the supply of database composed with accurate hydraulic and hydrologic data. The Korean Reach File is the hydraulic database with the locational information of individual reaches, and each reach represents the stream reach of homogeneous hydraulic characteristics. In detail, it has reach code designating each stream reach, and topological information including catalog unit, segment, marker and index. It was also designed considering linkage of existing codes such as stream name and stream code. The devised reach code was implemented to Kyungan River at the City of Gwangju of Kyunggi Province and the results showed that the reach code could effectively support the input database integrating basic numerous data required for water quality modeling based on a criterion as well as easier linkage and utilization with existing database. In addition, more systematic water quality management was enabled through the linkage of existing data such as treatment facilities, pollutant data, and management institutes using the reach codes defined for each stream section. In the future, more efforts need to be made to adopt the reach code as the national standard data thereby enabling utilization of numerous relevant database through the assigning of reach code to individual stream reaches nationwide.
