  • The interest in textile which has far-infrared ray emissive property has been increased in the field of biophysics and medicine. In this study, far-infrared ray emissive polyurethane nano-web was obtained using electrospinning of polyurethane(PU) solution mixed with ceramics powder and far-infrared ray emissive properties of nano-web were evaluated by measuring far-infrared ray emission power and emissivity(%). To investigate the influence of concentration of ceramics powder in PU solution and temperature for far-infrared ray emissive properties, far-infrared ray emissivity was measured at varied temperature using various nano-web including varied concentration of ceramics powder. Polyurethane nano-web was characterized by SEM to observe the deposition of ceramics powder on polyurethane nano-web surface. The far-infrared ray emissivity was increased with the concentration of ceramics powder in the nano-web. The far-infrared ray emission power was enhanced with increasing temperature of the samples; however, far-infrared ray emissivity was decreased with increasing temperature because the increase of emission power of ceramic containing nano-web was lower than the emission power of black body one.

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) arc grown on Ni catalysts employing an inductively-coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition (ICP-CVD) method. The structural and field-emissive properties of the CNTs grown are characterized in terms of the substrate-bias applied. Characterization using the various techniques, such as field-omission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), Auger spectroscopy (AES), and Raman spectroscopy, shows that the structural properties of the CNTs, including their physical dimensions and crystal qualities, as well as the nature of vertical growth, are strongly dependent upon the application of substrate bias during CNT growth. It is for the first time observed that the provailing growth mechanism of CNTs, which is either due to tip-driven growth or based-on-catalyst growth, may be influenced by substrate biasing. It is also seen that negatively substrate-biasing would promote the vertical-alignment of the CNTs grown, compared to positively substrate-biasing. However, the CNTs grown under the positively-biased condition display a higher electron-emission capability than those grown under the negatively-biased condition or without any bias applied.

  • Carbon nanotubes [CNTs] are grown on TiN-coated Si substrates at $700^{\circ}C$ by inductively coupled plasma-chemical vapor deposition (ICP-CVD). Pre-treatment of Ni catalysts has been performed using an RF magnetron sputtering system. Structural properties and field-emission characteristics of the CNTs grown are analyzed in terms of the RF power applied and the treatment time used in the pre-treatment process. The characterization using various techniques, such as FE-SEM, AFM, and Raman spectroscopy, show that the physical dimension as well as the crystal quality of CNTs are changed by pre-treatment of Ni catalysts. It is also seen that Ni catalysts with proper grain size and uniform surface roughness may produce much better electron emission. The physical reason for all the measured data obtained are discussed to establish the relationship between the structural property and the electron emission characteristic of CNTs.

  • $II-III_2-(S,Se)_4$ structured of phosphor have been used at various field because those have high luminescent efficiency and broad emission band. Among these phosphors, europium doped $BaGa_2S_4$ was prepared by solid-state method and we try to look into an application possibility due to an emissive property of UV region. Also, general sulfide phosphors were synthesized by using injurious $H_2S\;CS_2$ gas. However, this study prepared $BaGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor is addition to excess sulfur under 5% $H_2/95%\;N_2$ reduction atmosphere. So, this process could large scale synthesis because of non-harmfulness and simple process. The photo-luminescence efficiency of the prepared $BaGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor increased 20% than commercial $SrGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor. The prepared $BaGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ could apply to green phosphor for white LED of three wavelengths.
