  • We performed nonlinear transmission measurements and quantum-chemical calculations on dithienothiophene(DTT)-based molecules to gain insight into the effect of acceptor and donor groups on two-photon absorption(TPA) properties. The TPA intensity showed dispersion characteristics of the single-photon absorption spectrum. When the molecules included an asymmetric donor-acceptor pair, the single- and two-photon absorption maximum wavelengths were red-shifted more than when the molecules had a symmetric donor-donor structure. We interpreted this result as indicating that the $S_2$ state plays the dominating role in the absorption process of molecules with a symmetric structure. The experimental TPA ${\delta}$ values at the absorption peak wavelength showed a dependence on the structural variations. We found the self-consistent force-field theory and Hartree-Fock Hamiltonian with single configuration interaction formalism to be valid for evaluating TPA ${\delta}$. Although the quantum-chemical calculations slightly underestimated the experimental ${\delta}$ values obtained from nonlinear trans -mission measurements, they reasonably predicted the dependence of the ${\delta}$ value on the structural variations. We confirmed the role of molecular symmetry by observing that donor-donor substituted structure gave the highest experimental and theoretical TPA ${\delta}$ values and that the donor-acceptor substituted structure showed a greater red-shift in the TPA absorption maximum wavelength. Overall, the theoretical ${\delta}$ values of DTT-based molecules were in the order of $10^{-46}\;cm^4{\cdot}s{\cdot}photon^{-1}$ and are higher than that of AF-50 by nearly two orders of magnitude.

  • (PZT, PST, PT)/ YBCO structured have been grown on single crystal $LaAlO_3$ using in-situ Nb:YAG pulsed laser deposition technique. The optimum conditions of fabrication for high quality films have been established under various oxygen pressure. TBCO was used as a metallic electrode for polarizing ferroelectric thin fillms. Lattice mismatch of these materials were found to be with in 3%. As a result XRD patterns and rocking curves, (PZT, PST, PT)/ YBCO multiayered thin films on $LaAlO_3$ substrates showed preferred orientation to c-axis. For invastigation on electrical properties of ferroelectric thin films, remanent polaiztion $P_r$ and coercive field $E_c$ were measured for three samples. At each optimum condition, they showed the values of P_r=60 \mu C/cm^2 and E_c=240kV/ cm for PT, 30\mu C/cm^2 and 105kV/cm for PZT, 1.5\mu C/cm^2$ and 15kV/cm for PST. Frequency dependence of dielectric properties of ferroelectric thin fillms was also investigated. As a result, it showed the frequency dependence was relatively small in the range of 10Hz~10kHz.

  • Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUVL) is the most promising technique in the field of Next Generation Lithography (NGL) expected to be used in the 1x-nm node for High Volume Manufacturing (HVM). But there exits remaining challenges for proper defect control of EUV mask. It was considered development of EUV pellicle for protecting the EUV mask has many obstacles due to high extinction coefficient of EUV wavelength. Recently researchers in the industry of semiconductor argue about the necessity of EUV pellicle and make effort to achieve it. In this paper, we investigated that the relationship between imaging performance and transmittance of EUV pellicle quantitatively. We made in-house EUV pellicle and analyzed its imaging performance of the dependence of pellicle transmittance using Coherent Scattering Microscopy(CSM). The imaging performance of EUV mask with pellicle is affected by its transmittance and we found that the performance of EUV mask improved with higher transmittance pellicle.

  • Electronic Data Interchange(EDI) has the potential to improve business operations by expediting the exchange of business documents. It will also provide substantive operational and strategic benefits to the trading firms. However, the successful implementation of EDI systems requires the mutual trust and cooperation between the trading firms. The extent of EDI diffusion and performance depends on inter-organizational, intra-organizational, as well as innovation factors. Researches based on the sociopolitical process framework in the use of IT, organizational theory, resource dependence theory, and innovation diffusion theory have identified 3 inter-organizational variables(transaction climate, dependence, external IS expert support) and 4 intra-organizational variables(strategic IS planning, infrastructure, top management support, education/training,), and 3 innovation variables(compatibility, relative advantage, cost) that affect EDI diffusion. In this study, a multi-dimensional measure on EDI diffusion has been developed to capture the external and internal integration. Then, the influence of these 10 variables on the extent to which the EDI adopting firms pursue diffusion has been examined. Whether more diffusion leads to superior performance has also been studied. International trade managers from 107 firms in the trade industry participated in a field survey. The results based on a structural equation model(SEM), developed using AMOS, provide quite a strong support for the hypothesized relations. Both education/training and IT infrastructure influenced external and internal diffusion of EDI systems. Internal diffusion of EDI enables the adopting firms to improve operational and strategic performance, whereas external diffusion contributes only to operational performance.

  • The goal of the study is to understand how consumers' constraint as opposed to utility structure gives rise to final decision when consumers purchase more than one variant of product at a time, i.e., horizontal variety seeking or multiple-discreteness. Purchase and consumption decision not only produces utility but also involves some sort of cognitive pressure. Past consumption or last purchase is likely to be linked to this burden we face such as concern for obesity, risk of harm, and guilt for mischief. In this research, the existence and the role of dynamic constraint are investigated through a microeconomic utility model with multiple dynamic constraint. The model is applied to the salty snacks data collected from field study where burden for spiciness serves as a constraint. The results are compared to the conventional multiple discreteness choice models of static constraints, and policy implications on price discounts is explored. The major findings are that first, one would underestimate the level of consumer preference for product offerings when ignoring the carry-over of the concern from the past consumption, and second, the impact of price promotion on demand would be properly evaluated when the model allows for the role of constraint as both multiple and dynamic. The current study is different from the existing studies in two ways. First, it captures the effect of 'mental constraint' on demand in formal economic model. Second, unlike the state dependence well documented in the literature, the study proposes the notion of state dependence in different way, via constraint rather than utility.

  • Magnetic properties of MgB2 superconducting powder were investigated. M(H), the magnetic field H dependence of magnetization M, was measured and analyzed using a PPMS instrument. The MgB2 superconducting powder showed high critical current density Jc > ~ 107 A/cm2 and clean limit superconducting properties. The equilibrium magnetization Meq properties of MgB2 powders exhibiting various superconducting properties were studied. We find that the equilibrium magnetization Meq(H) properties of MgB2 powders showing conventional BCS properties deviate from the predictions of the standard local-London theory at temperatures below T = 19 K and are in good agreement with the generalized nonlocal-London theory. Nonlocal-London analysis was used to determine and analyze the nonlocal parameters. The temperature dependence of the London penetration depth values λ(T) was studied.

  • Magnetic relaxation properties of pure MgB2 powder samples and diluted water-treated MgB2 powder samples were investigated. The magnetic field H-dependence, m(H), and the time t-dependence, m(t), of the magnetic moment m were measured and analyzed using the PPMS-VSM magnetometer equipment, respectively. The m(t) reduction rates of pure MgB2 powder samples and diluted water-treated MgB2 powder samples decreased to about 0.7 ~ 1.8% and 0.6 ~ 1.0% for about 7200 s, respectively, at temperature T = 15 K. The magnetic relaxation properties of the two types of MgB2 powders were analyzed by calculating the magnetic relaxation rate S = -dln(Mirr)/dln(t) values according to Anderson-Kim theory. The magnetic relaxation ratio S values of the two types of MgB2 powder samples were almost similar. As a result of the quantum creep effect, the constant magnetic relaxation rate S characteristic was confirmed at a temperature range of T = 10 K or less.

  • This study is to apply behavioral economics-an economics that studies actual human behavior based on cognitive psychology-to the farming decision-making process of onion and garlic farmers. Of behavioral economic theories, dual system theory and prospect theory (value function), heuristic and bias were surveyed and examined in the field. The reference point of farmers was farming experience of the previous year, and so they showed reference dependence and anchoring heuristic, not rational thinking on production cost plan. And they showed status quo bias that cultivated continuously the previous year or the present crop. This status quo bias is related to loss aversion propensity. Farmers did not usually change cultivating crops, in other words, they showed diminishing sensitivity-insensitive to those that the more revenue or loss was increased. This diminishing sensitivity is related to loss aversion propensity and status quo bias. Also, farmers had representativeness heuristic because they regarded auction price of Garakdong wholesale market as the standard price level despite various prices by production region. And farmers had the affect heuristic that they depended on producers' organization data more than the state-run research institute ones about cultivation intentions and actual situations.

  • Uniformity and leveled distributions of soil chemicals across paddy fields are critical to manage optimal crop yields, reduce environmental risks and efficiently use water in rice cultivation. In this study, an investigation of spatial distributions on soil chemical properties was conducted to evaluate the effect of land leveling on mitigation of soil chemical property heterogeneity from a remodeled paddy field. The spatial variabilities of chemical properties were analyzed by geostatistical analyses; semivariograms and kriged simulations. The soil samples were taken from a 1 ha paddy field before and after land leveling with sufficient water. The study site was located at Bon-ri site of Dalseong and river sediments were dredged from Nakdong river basins. The sediments were buried into the paddy field after 50 cm of top soils at the paddy field were removed. The top soils were recovered after the sediments were piled up. In order to obtain the most accurate spatial field information, the soil samples were taken at every 5 m by 5 m grid point and total number of samples was 100 before and after land leveling with sufficient water. Soil pH increased from 6.59 to 6.85. Geostatistical analyses showed that chemical distributions had a high spatial dependence within a paddy field. The parameters of semivariogram analysis showed similar trends across the properties except pH comparing results from before and after land leveling. These properties had smaller "sill" values and greater "range" values after land leveling than ones from before land leveling. These results can be interpreted as land leveling induced more homogeneous distributions of soil chemical properties. The homogeneous distributions were confirmed by kriged simulations and distribution maps. As a conclusion, land leveling with sufficient water may induce better managements of fertilizer and water use in rice cultivation at disturbed paddy fields.

  • The dependence of magnetoresistance (MR) ratio on various variables like the thickness of the second Co layer, on the presence of cap layer, on deposition field (Hdep) and on annealing in Co/Cu/Co sandwiches was investigated. Spin-valve sandwiches were deposited on the corning glass by means of the 3-gun dcmagnetron sputtering at a 5 mTorr partial Ar pressure and room temperature. The deposition field was varied from 70 Oe to 720 Oe. The MR curve was measured by the four-terminal method with applied magnetic field up to 1000 Oe perpendicular to the direction of a current in the film plne. The MR ratio of glass/Fe(50${\AA}$)/Co(17${\AA}$)/Cu(24${\AA}$)/Cot(${\AA}$) fabricated by making 50 ${\AA}$ of Fe buffer layer has the maximum value of 8.2% when the thickness of the second Co layer was 17${\AA}$and the deposition field was 350 Oe. In the case of glass/Fe(50${\AA}$)/Co(17${\AA}$)/Cu(24${\AA}$)/Cot(${\AA}$) with Cu cap layer on top, the decrease in the MR ratio seemed to relate with the oxidation of the second Co layer. Samples prepared with deposition field showed greater MR ratios through the formation of more complete spin valve films. After annealing for 2 hours at 300$^{\circ}C$, the MR ratio of the samples prepared with deposition field decreased rapidly while the MR raito of the sample prepared without the field remained.
