  • This paper investigated the aging characteristic under long-term corona discharge on loon temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, which has been using as a protective coating material for solving the contaminant problem. The applied electrical field is 10kV/cm ac and corona discharge treatment was applied on RTV silicone rubber sheet for maximum 250 hours. With the duration of corona discharge, the diffusible low molecular weight species increased, which was determined the usage of n-hexane extraction method. In addition, the contaminant layer was formed on the treated surface, and then measured the contact angle. We investigated the relation of contact angle and diffusible low molecular weight species. It is found that scissor of main chain PDMS and side chains (CH$_3$) and the generation of LMW species were occurred by a corona discharge. The improvement of hydrophobicity rate is thought due to the increase of diffusible LMW species.

  • We have investigated the surface state of 154kV polymeric insulators exposed to in-service conditions for about five years. In order to evaluate surface aging of silicone rubber exposed to real field environments, we used various analytic methods such as contact angle, ATR-FTIR, SEM-EDS. Although contaminants were accumulated on weathershed surface, polymeric insulator has retained its intrinsic surface hydrophocity. In addition, ATR-FTIR confirmed the diffusion layer of a low molecular weight silicone fluid on surface layer and no surface cracking and chalking were Indicated by SEM. Polymeric insulators have still retained their improved pollution performance over porcelain insulators. That will lead to very low frequency of flashovers throughout their useful life, often under contaminated conditions.

  • For the evaluation in the safety of outdoor insulator, there are various methods such as: visual observation; voltage measurement; use of ultrasonic wave due to partial discharge; electric field measurement; use of infrared/ultraviolet sensor-type camera. However, many problems have been issued regrading the reliability of the evaluation test and safety of testing operation. Accordingly, the present study has investigated and analyzed the characteristics and mechanisms of the insulator deterioration, in order to obtain an optimal method for detecting poor insulator so that the reliability of power facilities can be enhanced. Besides, based on theoretical analysis of domestic and international detection methods for poor insulator, the reliability has been compared and evaluated quantitatively. As a result, it was shown that the corona camera would be the best choice for domestic workplace application in detecting poor insulator for enhancing the reliability of power transmission line.

  • In this paper, to understand the effect of forest fires on polymer insulators for transmission lines, it was observed the aging of the housing surface of the polymer insulators. And, this paper shows the way how to create the artificial field testing in order to simulate forest fire. As the results of, maximum leakage current peaks by influence of flame increased from 1[mA] to 1.4[mA], and SEM results show the inorganic component on the housing surface because the organic component matters disappeared. Therefore, the case of exposed by forest fire, polymer insulator can be used in the early stage, but an exchange needs active countermeasure to be stabilize power delivery.

  • The present work studies a nondestructive evaluation of the degradation of modified 9Cr-1Mo steel using a magnetic method based on the existence of the peaks of reversible permeability (RP) in the differential magnetization around the coercive force. The apparatus is based on detection of the voltage induced in a coil using a lock-in amplifier tuned to the frequency of the AC perturbing field. Results obtained for the reversible permeability and Vickers hardness on the aged samples showed the peak interval of reversible permeability (PIRP) and Vickers hardness decrease as aging time increased. The correlation between Vickes hardness and the PIRP could be used to evaluate degradation of modified 9Cr-1Mo steel.

  • There are unimaginable possibilities ahead of us. As a result, it is difficult to predict the future, but the prediction itself is not meaningless. This is because it can have the flexibility to cope with contingencies by predicting various possibilities. This study was conducted to explore extreme events (X-event) in the Korean population sector. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with experts from the Korea Army Research Center for Future & Innovation and the Army College, and based on this, significant research results were derived that population problems such as population decline and aging can affect various fields such as economy. With this study, we hope that discussions on extreme events (X-event) that can occur in our society will be further activated.

  • With the aging of buildings, the number and importance of regular inspections of buildings are increasing. The current safety inspection goes through a procedure in which a skilled technician visits an old building, visually checks it, takes a photo, and finally organizes and judges it at the office. For this, field personnel and analysis and review personnel are required. Since the inspection procedure includes taking pictures, a huge amount of data has been accumulated from the time digital photos were used to the present. When a model that can check cracks outside a building is developed using these data, manpower and time required can be greatly reduced. Therefore, this study aims to create a model for classifying cracks that occur outside the building through the artificial intelligence method. The created model can be used as a basic model for determining cracks only by external photography in the future, and furthermore, it can be used as basic data for calculating the size and width of cracks.

  • The FoodTech industry has been developed with the rise of start-up by using AI, big data, robotics, biotechnology. In addition, sustainable development is more important with the trend of population growth, aging, and climate change. We investigated the impact of FoodTech on the foodservice industry with the cases of the global and domestic companies. The technology of AI, IoT, blockchain, robotics, automation systems are widely used to improve food safety and hygiene while as the use of diagnostic biomarkers such as blood or DNA, digital platform and app, and AI-based solutions are used in the field of personalized nutrition. With the expand of FoodTech in foodservice industry, the competencies that the managers need to develop include understanding technology, resource management, self-development, work ethics, problem-solving, and communication, therefore the support of the related education and training is required.

  • Recently, the use of digital technology in architectural technology is gradually increasing with the development of various industrial technologies. There are artificial intelligence and drones in the field of architecture, and among them, deep learning technology has been introduced to conduct research in areas such as precise inspection of buildings, and it is expressed in a highly reliable way. When a building is deteriorated, various defects such as cracks in the surface and subsidence of the structure may occur. Since these cracks can represent serious structural damage in the future, the detection of cracks was conducted using artificial intelligence that can detect and identify surface defects by detecting cracks and aging of buildings.

  • Addressing challenges posed by an aging society, this study explores inclusive design orientations for digital medical interfaces catering to the elderly. The aim is to enhance inclusiveness and optimize interactive experiences within the medical system for senior users. Employing inclusive design concepts, the study analyzes characteristics through literature, focusing on functional purpose, interactive behavior, and emotional expression in digital medical interface design for the elderly. User research methods, including in-depth interviews and field research, generate user personas and behavioral analysis diagrams, organizing and categorizing pain points for elderly patients with chronic diseases. The study proposes principles for improving service touchpoints based on inclusiveness, optimizing pain point types and design processes in age-friendly services. These enhancements aim to help the elderly adapt to and integrate into a digital lifestyle.Incorporating inclusive design principles enhances the inclusiveness of service design, improving the service experience for the elderly. Age-friendly service design with inclusiveness serves as a valuable entry point for research targeting elderly populations and provides practical strategies for age-friendly medical service process design.
