The research was conducted to analyze workability and fiber distributions of amorphous steel fiber reinforced concrete by changing fiber length and fiber addition ratio. The inverted slump cone and vebe tests as well as slump test was performed to understand the fluidity of amorphous steel fibers which have quite different appearance compared to conventional steel fibers. Test results showed that thin plate type of amorphous steel fibers required different test approach to figure out workability since the reduction of workability from slump test was different that from inverted slump cone and vebe tests. In conclusion, fluidity of amorphous steel fibers to concrete was significantly degraded as fiber length and addition ratio increase. Also, fibers space in cement matrix was apparently reduced as the increase of fiber length and addition ratios without fiber balling.
Chitosan fiber was prepared by wet spinning with various draw ratio. Chitosan fiber was coated with f-carboxymethyl keratein(SCMK) by extruding chitosan solution into 1 M NaOH solution containing 1% SCMK. Among three chitosan used in this study(chitosans of 5 cps, 50 cps, 100 cps), 50 cps chitosan gave the best tenacity and optimum concentration was 5%. SCMK coating increased the tenacity of chitosan fiber. Regardless of SCMK coating, tenacity and elongation of both chitosan fibers were increased with the increase of draw ratio. Chitosan fiber showed antimicrobial activity against Staphyloccus aureus showing 66∼72% of bacteria reduction rates. On the other hand, chitosan fiber coated with SCMK didn't show any antimicrobial activity.
This research was made to manufacture the fabric for interior uses by spinning a low melting mono 4 denier PET staple fiber with a soluble 1.4 denier fine PET fiber. The blended yarn has a thickness ranging from 10's to 14's, and the soluble PET fine fiber was dissolved to make a pore in the polymer. Thereby a snap property was decreased and a resilience property was improved to be suitable for a functional synthetic leather. In order to attain the optimum condition, a mechanical property according to fineness, and mixing ratio of low melting polymer, warp density, weft density and blending ratio, and a heat contraction ratio according to blending ratio were experimented. The warp density, 220 T/inch of fine denier PET and the weft density, 64 T/inch of thick denier PET were generated to 4/4 both twill weave fabric having constant tensile property and thickness.

The flexural behavior of a strengthened beam that is a reinforced concrete beam with externally bonded carbon fiber sheets, is theoretically and experimentally investigated. A rectangular beam having a width of 20cm depth of 30cm and effective depth of 25cm is chosen. In order to have a variety of beams analyzed, three reinforcement ratios are chosen for the analysis: 1)$\frac{1}{2}$$\rho$$_{max}$, which is the most suitable reinforcement ratio for deflection consideration and the highest reinforcement ratio for practical designing beams as well; 2)$\rho$$_{max}$, which is the lowest reinforcement ratio for design purposes; and 3)the reinforcement ratio halfway from 1) and 2). Carbon fiber sheets with width of 15cm are externally bonded at the bottom fiber of the beam. The effect of the amount of carbon fiber sheets varying from 1 to 4 plies on the flexural capacity of the strengthened beam are also examined. Yield loads, ultimate loads, and flexural rigidities of the strengthened beam from the experimental results are composed with theoretical ones.nes.
The buckling equations of filament wound composite cylindrical shell are established. The coefficients $K_{ij}$ and $L_{ij}$ of the buckling equations are determined by solving the equations. The geometric analysis and the effective stiffness calculation for the fiber crossover and undulation region are respectively accomplished. Using the effective stiffness of the undulation region, the specific formulas of the coefficients ${K^{\prime}}_{ij}$ and ${L^{\prime}}_{ij}$ of the buckling equations are determined. Numerical examples of the buckling critical loads have been performed for the different winding angles and stacking sequences cylindrical shell designs. It can be concluded that the fiber undulation results in the less effect on the buckling critical loads $P_{cr}$. $P_{cr}$ increases with the thickness-radius ratio. The effect on $P_{cr}$ due to the fiber undulation is more obvious with the thickness-radius ratio. $P_{cr}$ decreases with the length-radius ratio. The effect on $P_{cr}$ due to the fiber undulation can be neglected when the ratio is large.
In this study, the mechanical properties of reactive powder concrete (RPC) with a constant cement to silica fume ratio of 4 were investigated. In the experimental program, reactive powder concretes with steel fiber at different ratios were produced. Five productions using quartz sand with a maximum grain size of 0.6 mm were performed. A superplasticizer with a ratio of 3% of the cement was used for all productions. $40{\times}40{\times}160mm$ prismatic specimens were prepared and tested for flexural and compression. The specimens were exposed to two different curing conditions as autoclave and standard curing condition. Autoclave exposure was performed for 3 hours under a pressure of 2 MPa. It was observed that the compressive strength of concrete, along with the flexural strength exposed to autoclave was quite high compared to the strength of concretes subjected to standard curing. The results obtained indicated that the compressive strength, along with the flexural strength of autoclaved concrete increased as the amount of cement used increases. Approximately 15% increase in flexural strength was achieved with a 4% steel fiber addition. The maximum compressive strength that has been reached is over 210 MPa for reactive powder concrete for the same steel fiber ratio and with a cement content of $960kg/m^3$. The relationship between compressive strength and flexural strength of reactive powder concrete exposed to both curing conditions was also identified.

The shear capacity of beams is an essential parameter in designing beams carrying shear loads. Precise estimation of the ultimate shear capacity typically requires comprehensive calculation methods. For steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) beams, traditional design methods may not accurately predict the interaction between different parameters affecting ultimate shear capacity. In this study, artificial neural network (ANN) modeling was utilized to predict the ultimate shear capacity of SFRC beams using ten input parameters. The results demonstrated that the ANN with 30 neurons had the best performance based on the values of root mean square error (RMSE) and coefficient of determination (R2) compared to other ANN models with different neurons. Analysis of the ANN model has shown that the clear shear span to depth ratio significantly affects the predicted ultimate shear capacity, followed by the reinforcement steel tensile strength and steel fiber tensile strength. Moreover, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) was used to optimize the ANN model's input parameters, resulting in the least cost for the SFRC beams. Results have shown that SFRC beams' cost increased with the clear span to depth ratio. Increasing the clear span to depth ratio has increased the depth, height, steel, and fiber ratio needed to support the SFRC beams against shear failures. This study approach is considered among the earliest in the field of SFRC.

This paper investigates the effects of aspect ratio and volume fraction of hooked-end normal-strength steel fibers on the compressive and flexural properties of high-strength concrete with specified compressive strength of 60 MPa. Three types of hooked-end steel fibers with aspect ratios of 64, 67 and 80 were considered and three volume fractions of 0.25%, 0.50% and 0.75% for each steel fiber were respectively added into each high-strength concrete mixture. The test results indicated that the addition of normal-strength steel fibers is effective to improve compressive and flexural properties of high-strength concrete but fiber aspect ratio had little effect on the modulus of elasticity and compressive strength. As steel fiber content and aspect ratio increased, flexural beahvior of notched high-strength concrete beams was effectively improved.

The photoelastic model material with shape memory effect and the molding processes for the material are developed in this research. The matrix and fiber of the photoelastic model material developed in this research are epoxy resin (Araldite to hardner 10 to 3 (weight ratio)) and wire of $Ti_50-Ni_50$ shape memory alloy, respectively. It is called Ti50-Ni50 Shape Memory Alloy Fiber Epoxy Composite $(Ti_50-Ni_50SMA-FEC).$ Ti50-Ni50 SMA-FEC is satisfied with the requirements of the photoelastic model material and can be used as a photoelastic model material. The maximum recovering strain of $Ti_50-Ni_50$SMA-FEC is occurred at $80^{\circ}C$ in any prestrain of $Ti_50-Ni_50$ shape memory alloy fiber and in any fiber volume ratio. Recovering strain(force) is increased with the increment of the prestrain and the fiber volume ratio. The best prestrain of $Ti_50-Ni_50$SMA-FEC is 5% for the recovering force among 1%, 3%, 5%.

The important properties of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) redispersible polymer was waterproof, densification of internal pore space of concrete and ball bearing and micro filler. Also, the significant role of polypropylene(PP) fiber was crack control and blockade of movement for deterioration factors. The most studies for EVA were limited in the field of mortar and PP fiber reinforced concrete had been studied in the state of being restricted unit water content, rich mix and mixing much of the fiber without considering construction site. Therefore, the control mix design were applied in ready mixed concrete using 10 % fly ash of total cement weight used in batch plant. On the basis of control mix design, EVA contents ranging from 0 % to 10 % of total cement weight and PP fiber contents ranging from 0 % to 0.5 % of EVA concrete volume were used in the mix designs. The results showed the maximum compressive strength value was measured at EVA 5.0 % and PP fiber 0.1 %, the minimum water absorption ratio was at EVA 10 % and PP fiber 0 %, the durability factor for freezing and thawing resistance was at EVA 5.0 % and PP fiber 0.3 % and the minimum weight reduction ratio of resistance to sulfuric acid attack was at EVA 10 % and PP fiber 0.5 % after curing age 42days. Meanwhile, From these results, PP fiber reinforced EVA concrete would be very benefit, if each optimal mix types were used in hydraulic structures, underground utilities and agricultural structures.
