Ferromagnetic Resonance of Amorphous $Co_{1-\chi}Hf_\chi$ Thin Films (비정질 $Co_{1-x}Hf_x$ 박막의 강자성 공명)

  • To investigate the influence of the Hf concentration and the annealing effect in $Co_{1-x}Hf_x$(X=0.16, 0.24 at.%) systems, ferromagnetic resonance experiments have been carried out. Spin wave resonance spectra for all samples consist of several volume modes and one (or two) surface mode. It is suggested that both surfaces of the film have a perpendicular hard axis to the film plane (negative surface anisotropy). The surface anisotropy $K_{s2}$ at substrate-film interface is varied slowly from -0.07 to -0.32 erg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and the surface anisotropy $K_{s1}$ at film-air interface is varied from 0.18 to -0.47 erg/ $\textrm{cm}^2$ with increasing annealing temperature in the amorphous $Co_{84}Hf_{16}$ thin films. Also, the surface anisotropy $K_{s2}$ is varied slowly from -0.31 to -0.41 erg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and the surface anisotropy $K_{s1}$is varied from -0.19 to -0.60 erg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ with increasing annealing temperature in the amporphous $Co_{84}Hf_{16}$ thin films. We conjecture that the variation of surface anisotropy $K_{s1}$ is due to the increase of Co concentration resulted from Hf oxidation for low temperature annealing(150~175 $^{\circ}C$) and the diffusion of Co atoms near the film surfaces for high temperature annealing (200~225 $^{\circ}C$).

The Magnetic Properties of $Co_{84}\;Hf_{16}$ Thin Films by FMR (강자성공명을 이용한 $Co_{84}\;Hf_{16}$ 박막의 자기적 성질 연구)

  • $Co_{84}Hf_{16}$ (1300$\AA$, 2150$\AA$) thin films were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering method. To investigate the uniaxial anisotrpy of the sample, the saturation and effective magnetization of the thin films were measured by VSM and FMR, respectively. The spectroscopic splitting g factor were estimated from the ferromagnetic resonance curves. For 1300$\AA$, 2150$\AA$, the effective magnetization was measured at the temperatures from T=77K to T=300K. The results were analyzed in terms of Bloch's law $M_s(T)=M_s(0)(1BT^{3/2}CT^{5/2}$. The Bloch coefficient B and C were determined by fitting. $M_{eff}(0)$ was obtained by extrapolating $M_{eff}$ to 0 K. From this result, the spinwave stiffness constants D was also determined and the exchange stiffness constants $A_{eff}$ were calculated by Kittel's resonance conditions.

  • Ferromagnetic resonance experiment was performed to study the variations of micromagnetic structure with heat treatment of melt spun $Fe_{76}Cu_{1}Nb_{3}Si_{14}B_{6}$ alloy for 1h at every $50^{\circ}C$ in the temperature range of $400^{\circ}C-700^{\circ}C$. The variations of micromagnetic structure was discussed qualitatively in terms of the variations of line width ${\Delta}H_{p-p}$ and resonance magnetic field $H_{res}$. With increasing armealing temperature to $400^{\circ}C$, ${\Delta}H_{p-p}$ decreases and $H_{res}$ increases due to the decrease in magnetic anisotropy resulting from structural relaxation during heat treatment. With increasing annealing temperature from 400 to $500^{\circ}C$, ${\Delta}H_{p-p}$ increases and $H_{res}$ decreases due to the increase in magnetic anisotropy resulting from the formation of nanocrystalline particles embedded in an amorphous matrix. With increasing armealing temperature from 500 to $550^{\circ}C$, ${\Delta}H_{p-p}$ decreases and $H_{res}$ increases due to the decrease in magnetic anisotropy resulting from the formation of homogeneous nanocrystalline structure with a minor amorphous phase. Further increase in armealing temperature above $550^{\circ}C$ C causes ${\Delta}H_{p-p}$ to increase and $H_{res}$ to decrease due to the increase in magnetic anisotropy due to the formation of inhomogeneous grain structure and intermetallic compounds.

Temperature Dependence of Magnetostatic Waves on the YIG Single Crystalline Thin Film (YIG 단결정 박막에 대한 정자파의 온도의존성 연구)

  • In order to study the temperature dependence of the magnetostatic wave modes for an YIG thin film, grown by a liquid phase epitaxy method, The ferromagnetic resonance was performed by an FMR spectrometer in the temperature range -140$\^{C}$∼200$\^{C}$. The magnetostatic surface wave and backward volume wave modes show periodic excitations in parallel configuration. The resonance fields of all modes and intensities decreased with decreasing the temperature. All magnetostatic modes can be well explained by the Walker and Damon-Eshbach theory. The calculated saturation magnetization Ms of the YIG thin film was increased with decreasing the temperature. The line widths of magnetostatic modes changed in various trends with decreasing the temperature.

RF Integrated Electromagnetic-Noise Filters Incorporated with Nano-granular Co41Fe38AI13O8 Soft Magnetic Thin Films on Coplanar Transmission Line

  • The RF integrated noise filters are fabricated by photolithography. The stack for the electromagnetic noise filters consists of the nano-granular ($Co_{41}Fe_{38}AI_{13}O_8$) soft magnetic film / $SiO_2$ / Cu transmission line / seed layer (Cu/Ti) / $SiO_2$-substrate. A good signal-attenuation feature along with a low signal-reflection feature is observed in the present filters. Especially in the noise filter incorporated with a $Co_{41}Fe_{38}AI_{13}O_8$ magnetic film with lateral dimensions of $2000{\mu}m$ wide, 15 mm long and $1{\mu}m$ thick, the maximum magnitude of signal attenuation reaches -55 dB, and the magnitude of signal reflection is below -10 dB in the overall frequency range. And this level of signal attenuation is much larger than that of a noise filter incorporated with a Fe magnetic film.

  • 본 연구에서는 소결온도와 치환원소에 따른 서클레이터/아이솔레이터용 YIG 페라이트의 미세구조와 전자기적 특성을 고찰하고자 하였다. Ca, V, In을 치환시킨 YIG 페라이트를 분무건조기를 사용하여 준구형 과립상태로 만들고, 일반적인 세라믹 제조 공정에 따라 12$50^{\circ}C$, 1275$^{\circ}C$, 130$0^{\circ}C$, 13$25^{\circ}C$에서 각각 소결하였다. 제조된 YIG 페라이트에 대한 기본 물성과 자기 특성을 밀도측정기, XRD, SEM, VSM, FMR(Ferromagnetic Resonance) 등을 이용하여 측정 분석하였다. $Y_{1.6}$C $a_{1.4}$F $e_4$ $V_{0.7}$I $n_{0.3}$ $O_{12}$ 조성의 YIG 페라이트에 대한 전자기적 특성 측정 결과 130$0^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 YIG 페라이트가 높은 포화자화(4$\pi$Ms) 값과 낮은 자기공명반치폭($\Delta$H)을 지닌 우수한 전자기적 특성을 나타내었다. 전자기적 특성을 나타내었다.나타내었다.다.

Development of the RE indirect-heating LPE furnace and the effect of impurity in YIG film on the MSSW properties

  • We developed a new RF indirect-heating LPE furnace. The thermal gradient of our newly developed furnace is less than that of direct heating, and is as gentle as that of the resistance-heating LPE furnace. With this new furnace, the heating and/or cooling is faster than that of the resistance-heating furnace. Impurity-doped YIG film was grown from a $PbO-B_{2}O_{3}$, based flux on a (111) GGG substrate. To study the effect of the impurities on the MSSW threshold power and the saturation response time, we used two microstrip lines to excite and propagate the MSSW at 1.9 GHz. The MSSW threshold power and saturation response time was found to be related to the $\Delta$H.

  • Liquid Phase Epitaxy 법을 이용하여 La이 첨가된 YIG(Yitrium Ion Garnet)막을 성장시켰다. X선 회절 분석을 이용하여 La의 첨가량을 변화시키며 제조된 막의 격자상수를 조사한 결과, La의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 성장된 막의 격자상수도 증가하였으며 Y/La이 20인 경우, 막의 격자상수가 기판으로 사용한 GGG의 격자상수와 일치하였다. VSM(Vibration Sample Magnetometer)를 이용하여 구한 막의 포화자화 값은 La의 첨가량과 관계없이 순수한 YIG의 경우와 같은 값인 1750정도로 거의 일정하였다. FMR(FerroMagnetic Resonance) 측정장치를 이용한 막의 강자성 공명선폭을 측정결과 막의 공명선폭은 La의 첨가량과 관계없이 모든 경우에 순수한 YIG보다 감소하였다. 실험범위내의 La의 첨가에 대해서 기판과의 격자불일치가 순수한 YIG의 경우보다 감소하기 때문이다. La의 첨가량이 많은 조건에서 성장시킨 막은 공명선폭이 크고 두께의 증가에 따라서 선폭이 증가하였으며, YLa가 20과 30일 때 성장시킨 막에서는 공명선폭의 절대값도 작고 두께에 따른 공명선폭의 변화도 관찰되지 않았다.

RF Power Absorption Enhancement of Magnetic Composites with Conductive Grid

  • To evaluate the electromagnetic power absorption in near field, the magnetic composites with the conductive grids were simulated using the typical permeability frequency profiles. The transmission power absorptions of the magnetic composites on microstrip line were extracted by the 3D FEM simulation program of HFSS. The magnitudes of power absorptions were greatly enhanced up to 98% and broadened the absorbing frequency band over 5 GHz by the insertion of a conductive grid in magnetic composite. The initial frequency of the power absorption can controlled by the change of the ferromagnetic resonance frequencies of the magnetic composite.

  • In summary, the ferromagnetic resonance experiments was applied to investigate the magnetic properties of $Co_{16}Fe_{64}B_{20}$ thin films and nanowire patterns. We find that the saturated magnetization and demagnetization factors. And we will compare experimental result with the micromagnetic simulations.
