Ultrafast Time-Resolved Laser Spectroscopic Studies of trans-Bis(ferrocene-carboxylato)(tetraphenyl-porphyrinato)tin(IV): Intramolecular Electron-Transfer Dynamics

  • Photophysical properties of a newly-synthesized porphyrin derivative, trans-bis(ferrocene carboxylato)- (5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrinato)tin(IV) [Sn(TPP)(FcCOO)2] were investigated by means of steady-state and fs-time resolved laser spectroscopic techniques, and compared with those of a standard molecule, trans-dichloro( 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl-porphrinato)tin(IV) [Sn(TPP)Cl2]. The fluorescence spectrum of Sn(TPP)- (FcCOO)2 was observed to exhibit dual emission bands originating from the S2-state and the S1-state, which was greatly quenched as compared to those of Sn(TPP)Cl2. The fs-time resolved fluorescence and transient absorption spectroscopic measurements revealed that the fluorescence quenching is due to formation of the long-lived charge transfer state by intramolecular electron transfer from ferrocene to the S2-excited SnTPP in addition to the enhanced non-radiative deactivation processes.

  • A series of new ferrocene derivatives containing cyclohexylphosphines have been prepared from the reactions of lithioferrocenes with corresponding chlorodicyclohexylphosphines. 1-diphenylphosphino-1'-dicyclohexylphosphinoferro cene has been prepared from [1]-ferrocenophane via a ring cleavage reaction. Chiral ferrocenylaminophosphines incorporating cyclohexyl-and cyclopentadienylphosphines have also been prepared from the chiral template 2-N,N-dimethylaminoethylferrocene (FA) via stereoselective lithiation followed by phosphination with corresponding $R_2PCl$(R= $C_6H_{11}$, $C_5H_5$). The synthesis of cyclopentadienylphosphine derivative of (R)-FA (6b) led to the formation of a mixture of four diastereomers due to the presence of three chiral sources in the final product in addition to the fluxional behavior of the $η^1$-$C_5H_5$ group attached to the phosphorus. All these new compounds have been characterized by analytical and spectroscopic techniques.

  • In this study, we carried out the study on the combustion characteristics of HTPB/AP propellants with Al and Zr as fuel metal in order to develop the solid propellant with high burning rate. The major combustion characteristics of propellant were investigated as measuring of the burning rate and pressure exponent, and the HTPB/AP solid propellants were prepared with introducing Butacene as burning rate catalyst for the enhancement of burning rate. The propellant with Al and Zr was demonstrated the improvement of propellant performance and combustion characteristic.

  • In this paper, in order to control the burning rate and pressure exponent of HTPB/AP/Al based propellant for the improvement of performance, the effect of the size ratio of AP particles and various contents of Butacene as burning catalyst on combustion properties was investigated. In the propellant formulation with both $28{\mu}m$ Al of 23% and Butacene of 3%, the burning rate and pressure exponent were increased with increasing the contents of $9{\mu}m$ AP particles. And the burning rate was increased with increasing the contents of Butacene with showing the relatively low pressure exponent in the propellant containing Butacene. However, the significant variations of pressure exponent by contents of Butacene were not observed.
