  • The nature of the exotic stellar corpses which reincarnate by consuming their companion is reviewed. Apart from sucking life from their partners, they are actually eating the doomed companions away by their deadly and powerful particle/radiation beams. Such situation resembles that a female "black widow" spider that eats its mate after mating. These celestial zombies are called - Millisecond pulsars (MSPs). In this review article, I will focus on the effort of Fermi Asian Network (FAN) in exploring these intricating objects over the last five years. Two special classes of MSPs are particularly striking. Since Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope has started surveying the gamma-ray sky, the population of "black widows" has been boosted. Another dramatic class is so-called "redbacks" (Australian cousin of "black widows") which has just emerged in the last few years. These MSPs provide us with a long-sought missing link in understanding the transition between accretion-powered and rotation-powered systems. The strategy of hunting MSPs through mulitwavelength observations of the unidentified Fermi objects is also reviewed.

  • The surface of GaAs was treated by using the 0.1M solution of N $a_{2}$S.9 $H_{2}$O. The passivation of the surface in this sample was investigated by the photoreflectance(PR) experiment. The surface electric field( $E_{s}$) and built-in voltage( $V_{bi}$ ) discussed from Franz-Keldysh oscillation of PR signals. The density of surface states and Fermi level of GaAs treated with N $a_{2}$S.9 $H_{2}$O for 40min were determined 1.61*10$^{12}$ c $m^{-2}$ and 0.73eV. These values were about 15 and 10% smaller than those in untreated sample.e.

  • The successful launch of the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope has led us into an entirely new era of high-energy astrophysics. The sensitivity of the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on the spacecraft is much higher than that of its predecessors. Furthermore, the data policy of LAT is completely open so that everyone can access the data. All these enable a wide variety of investigations. In order to utilize the golden opportunity at the early stage of this mission, we have established the Fermi Asian Network (FAN) in 2010. Since the establishment, we have carried out intensive investigations in both observational and theoretical aspect. In this talk, I will highlight the recent discoveries made by FAN with particular focus on pulsar astrophysics.

  • The band structures and the densities of states at the Fermi energy for rutile, anatase and brookite phases are investigated along with the structure-photocatlaytic relationship by using DFT method. Bands are less dispersive in anatase phase than in rutile phase, and they are almost flat in brookite phase. As a result, the DOS value near the Fermi energy for brookite is highest among three types of $TiO_{2}$, which means that the numbers of electrons near the Fermi energy are largest in brookite. The calculation shows that brookite phase may exhibit highest photocatalytic efficiency among three types of $TiO_{2}$.

  • To celebrate the tenth anniversary since the launch of Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, we take a retrospect to a series of breakthroughs Fermi has contributed to pulsar astronomy in the last decade. Apart from significantly enlarging the population of ${\gamma}$-ray pulsars, observations with the Large Area Telescope onboard Fermi also show the population is not homogeneous. Instead, many classes and sub-classes have been revealed. In this paper, we will review the properties of different types of ${\gamma}$-ray pulsars, including radio-quiet ${\gamma}$-ray pulsars, millisecond pulsars, ${\gamma}$-ray binaries. Also, we will discuss the prospects of pulsar astronomy in the high energy regime.

  • Two La1.82Ca1.18Cu2O6+δ (2126) compounds exhibited different properties depending upon how they were synthesized. The compound prepared under high oxygen pressure showed superconductivity. But the compound prepared under low oxygen pressure did not exhibit superconductivity, and showed a metal-insulator transition. Our study on these compounds shows that a small amount of additional oxygen intercalated into the superconducting phase plays an important role for superconductivity. The Fermi surface of non-superconducting 2126 compound possesses nesting phenomena, which is the reason for the M-1 transition. On the other hand, the superconducting 2126 compound does not show Fermi surface nesting. This is because the additional oxygen removes some electrons from Cu d-orbitals, thereby bradking the Fermi surface nesting.

  • Rotation-powered pulsars are excellent laboratories for studying particle acceleration as well as fundamental physics of strong gravity, strong magnetic fields and relativity. Particle acceleration and high-energy emission from the polar caps is expected to occur in connection with electron-positron pair cascades. I will review acceleration and gamma-ray emission from the pulsar polar cap and associated slot gap. Predictions of these models can be tested with the data set on pulsars collected by the Large Area Telescope on the Fermi Gamma-Ray Telescope over the last four years, using both detailed light curve fitting, population synthesis and phase-resolved spectroscopy.

  • Electron-electron interactions bear important information on fundamental electronic properties such as electron effective mass, conductivity, and charge mobility. By using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, here we address unusual electron self-energy in graphene induced by the electron-electron interactions, which are distinguished from those of an ordinary Fermi liquid. Our findings provide a new route for two-dimensional electron systems toward device applications.

  • The F-GAMMA (FERMI-GST AGN Multi-frequency Monitoring Alliance) project is a program for the monthly monitoring of the broad-band spectra of currently about 90 selected Fermi-GST AGNs. F-GAMMA utilizes several facilities in cm, mm, sub-mm, infrared and optical bands, achieving an unprecedented coverage for the study of the spectral evolution of powerful relativistic jets in AGNs. The KVN joined the F-GAMMA project in May 2011, aiming to monitor flux density at 22 and 43 GHz. We present the preliminary results of flux density variability, evolution of spectral index, and modulation index.
