The injection and spray characteristics of top-feed type injector was investigated under liquid phase injection fueled with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Different pressures and temperatures of fuel injection system were tested to identify the injection characteristics after hot soaking. MIE-scattering technique was used for verification of successful liquid phase injection after hot soaking. In case of bottom-feed type injector, the injection was accomplished at every experimental condition. In case of top-feed type injector, when the pressure of LPG was over 1.2 MPa, the injection was not executed. However, under the pressure were 1.2 MPa, the liquid phase injection after hot soaking was accomplished. The engine with top-feed type fuel injection equipment was restarted successfully after hot soaking.

The sea cucumber, Apostichopus japonicus, is becoming an important aquaculture species in China, Japan and Korea. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the biological performance of a tubular type of subsurface cage for sea cucumber grow-out by in-situ tests. The cage structure was constructed of PP (polypropylene) frames and PP tubes (${\phi}130mm{\times}24pieces$). A set of tests were conducted at a depth of 15 m near Seosaeng, Ulsan, Korea for 295 days (23 July, 2012 to 13 May, 2013). A total of 155 sea cucumbers were used and fed a mixed diet containing mud, mineral, wheat, fish meal, etc (3% of their body weight). At the end of the experiments, sea cucumber showed a higher survival rate in feed shelter (77.14%) rather than no feed shelter (64.71%). The specific growth rate (SGR) of sea cucumbers in feed condition (0.04% $day^{-1}$) was higher than that of no feed culture animals (-0.49% $day^{-1}$) during total experimental periods. The result was able to find a no significance difference in survival rate but a significance difference in SGR under feed and no feed treatments.

Determination of an optimal feed rate is valuable in the sense of the precision and efficient machining. In this regard, a new surface roughness model for the face milling operation that considered the radial and axal runouts of the inserts in the cutter body was developed. The validity of the model was proved through the cutting experiments, and the model is able to predict the real machined surface roughness exactly with the information of the insert runouts and the cutting conditions. From the estimated surface roughness value, the maximum feed rate that obtains a maximum naterial removal rate under the given surface roughness constraint can be selected by using a bisection method. Therefore, this mehod for optimizing the feed rate can be well applied to the using a bisection method. Therefore, this method for optimizing the feed rate can be well applied to the using selsction of the cutting condition during the NC data generation in CAM.
This study was carried out to find out the effects of the sheaf size of paddy harvested by the binders on the threshing performance, load characteristics and power requirement of an auto-feed thresher. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1. The seperating performance of the thresher appeared to be satisfactory for all the sheaf sizes although the amount of rubbishes and empty grains slightly increased with the sheaf size of paddy. 2. There was no significant difference in grain output quality of the thresher among the three sheaf sizes. However, the amount of grains left unthreshed increased with the sheaf size. In the case of the largest sheaf size with the feed rate of 780kg/h, it exceeded the limit set by the national inspection regulations. 3. The position of the feed-chain rail gave a significant effect on the power requirement of the thresher. At the feed rate of 780kg/h, the net power required to convey sheafs through the feed chain was in the range of 0.37 to 0.50 PS for the middle and lowest position of feed-chain rail, and there was no significant difference among the sheaf sizes. At the highest position, however, it appeared that the smallest sheaf required more power than the others. The net power requirements at this position were 1.03, 0.59. 0.65 PS for the smallest, medium and largest sheafs respectively. 4. The torques of both the thresher and the engine shaft increased with the feed rate and were not affected by the sheaf size for the lower two feed rates of 520 and 780kg/h. At the highest feed rate of 1,040 kg/h, however, they were affected by the sheaf size. In this case, the medium sheaf size gave lower values than the others. 5. The variations in the thresher and the engine torque increased with the feed rate and were not affected by the sheaf size for the feed rate of 520kg/h. At the feed rate of 780kg/h, however, they increased with sheaf size. And at the feed rate of 1,040 kg/h, the torque variations increased greatly for all the sheaf sizes due to an over-load operating condition. 6. It appeared that the average and maximum power requirements of the thresher increased with the feed rate. But, there was no significant difference in power requirement among the sheaf sizes for the lower two feed rates. 7. The threshing efficiency of the thresher was in the range of 214-249 kg/ps.h with the feed rates of 520 and 780 kg/h, and it was not affected by both the sheaf size and the feed rate. At the feed rate of 1,040 kg/h, however, it decreased to as low as 171-174 kg/ps.h because of a sudden increase in power requirement. 8. The average power requirements of the engine were slightly higher than those of the thresher due to the slippage of flat belt between the thresher and engine. It appeared that power transmission from the engine to the thresher was maintained properly since slippages were moderately low with the range of 2.78 to 6.51% throughout the tests. 9. The specific fuel consumption of the engine (diesel 8PS) decreased as the feed rate increased. However, there was no significant reduction in specific fuel consumption as the feed rate increased above 780 kg/h.

In this study, Ultra-precision finishing system using micro abrasive film experimented using experimental variable film feed speed and grinding speed and structural steel(SM45C) with respect to 12~3{\mu}m$ micro abrasive film. the result are follows; (1) Experimental condition must setup dissimilar about each micro abrasive film. (2) To measurement deviation the smallest machined condition are 20mm/min in 12{\mu}m$, 5mm/min and 15mm/min in 9{\mu}m$ and 5{\mu}m$, 5mm/min in 3{\mu}m$ in film feed speed. (3) To measurement deviation the smallest machined condition are 180m/min in 12{\mu}m$, 84m/min in 9{\mu}m$, 56 and 84m/min in 5{\mu}m$, 104m/min in 3{\mu}m$ in grinding speed.

A participation scheme involving smallholder dairy farmers in improving dairy productivity through the use of local feeds, on-farm established feeds and crop residues was carried out in the Northeast, Thailand. At six milk collection centers, 63 farmers with 340 lactating cows participated in this research and demonstration of feed supplements. Farmers and cows were allotted to receive respective feed supplements: high-quality feed block (HQFB), high-quality feed pellet (HQFP), dried cassava leaf/cassava hay, dried leucaena leaf and cottonseed meal: 5% urea treated rice straw was fed as a source of roughage throughout the feeding period of the dry season. Trainings and workshops were organized by the researchers at the University, research station, demonstration sites and on-farms. Regular visits to the fartns by researchers and extension officers were made while discussions and demonstrations were performed in addition. Participating farmers also visited other farmers during the demonstration which offered a real practical perspective and farmer-to-farmer interaction. As a result of this participation and demonstration scheme, the farmers could learn more effectively and accepted the technology more readily, especially the practicality of the feed preparation, feed establishment, feeding method and feed reserve. Strategic supplementation of these feed supplements resulted in improving milk yield, milk quality, overall condition of the cows and higher income return through increased productivity and lower level use of concentrate to milk yield from 1:2 to 1:3 or lower. Based on this research and demonstration /participation scheme, all feed supplements enhanced productivity, however the establishment of cassava hay on fartns deserved more attention and warrants a wider developmental expansion among dairy farmers since it contained high rumen by-pass protein (tannin-protein complex) and could be easily produced and be sustainable on farms.

The present study investigated the optimum blending condition of protected fat, choline and yeast culture for lowering of rumen temperature. The Box Benken experimental design, a fractional factorial arrangement, and response surface methodology were employed. The optimum blending condition was determined using the rumen simulated in vitro fermentation. An additive formulated on the optimum condition contained 50% of protected fat, 25% of yeast culture, 5% of choline, 7% of organic zinc, 6.5% of cinnamon, and 6.5% of stevioside. The feed additive was supplemented at a rate of 0.1% of diet (orchard grass:concentrate, 3:7) and compared with a control which had no additive. The treatment resulted in lower volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentration and biogas than the control. To investigate the effect of the optimized additive and feed energy levels on rumen and rectal temperatures, four rumen cannulated Hanwoo (Korean native beef breed) steers were in a $4{\times}4$ Latin square design. Energy levels were varied to low and high by altering the ratio of forage to concentrate in diet: low energy (6:4) and high energy (4:6). The additive was added at a rate of 0.1% of the diet. The following parameters were measured; feed intake, rumen and rectal temperatures, ruminal pH and VFA concentration. This study was conducted in an environmentally controlled house with temperature set at $30^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity levels of 70%. Steers were housed individually in raised crates to facilitate collection of urine and feces. The adaptation period was for 14 days, 2 days for sampling and 7 days for resting the animals. The additive significantly reduced both rumen (p<0.01) and rectal temperatures (p<0.001) without depressed feed intake. There were interactions (p<0.01) between energy level and additive on ruminal temperature. Neither additive nor energy level had an effect on total VFA concentration. The additive however, significantly increased (p<0.01) propionate and subsequently had lower acetate:propionate (A/P) ratios than non-additive supplementation. High concentrate diets had significantly lower pH. Interactions between energy and additive were observed (p<0.01) in ammonia nitrogen production. Supplementation of diets with the additive resulted in lower rumen and rectal temperatures, hence the additive showed promise in alleviating undesirable effects of heat stress in cattle.

Keeping cooling water temperature higher within the allowable range helps marine engines to run in more efficient condition especially when the engine load is low. Temperature control of jacket cooling water in outlet side of main engine has been more widely adopted to ships these days for the purpose to reduce fuel consumption rate. But If the temperature sensor for the control loop is placed at the outlet of engine, it brings more difficulties in attaining stable and desirable properties due to dead times included in pipe length and engine itself comparing to the case where the measuring point is at the inlet side of main engine. In relation with this problem, Feed-forward control could be one of realistic solutions as it reveals good properties and requires less cost for system configuration. This study suggests a forward control system which leads to improved temperature control performances to disturbance signals which could arise from variation of engine load or weather condition. Two dead times in the modelling were described, considering pipe length between the actuator and the engine as well as the thermal process inside the engine. The results of analysis were shown by simulations to confirm responses under different conditions.

In this study, it is experimented to find factors effecting surface roughness using the system of experiments. in the mirror surface finishing system. (1) The film feed and oscillation frequency in $40{\mu}m$ abrasive film, grinding speed in $30{\mu}m$, and machining time in $15{\mu}m$15 are the main factors effecting the surface roughness. (2) Applying the optimal finishing condition to $40{\mu}m$, $30{\mu}m$, $15{\mu}m$ abrasive finishing film in sequence, it is possible to obtian about Ra 10 nm surface roughness on SM45C workpiece. (3) Application of the system of experments to the micro abrasive grain film finishing was very effective method in the extraction of main factor and optimal condition.

This thesis is concerned with the study on the characteristics of the cutting resistance occurring in finish machining of hardened steels such as carbon tool steel and alloy tool steel by a ceramic tool with nose radius. For the purpose, the shape of cutting cross-section made at nose part of the tool was analyzed geometrically and the wear mechanism on the flank face of the ceramic tool is investigated. In order to investigate the characteristics of cutting resistance two categories of cutting conditions are suggested, along with geometrical analysis. One category includes the conventional cutting parameters such as feed and depth of cut, another containing new cutting parameters of thickness of cut and width of cut etc. Thickness of cut width of cut and area of undeformed chip section formed by the condition of engagement between workpiece and cutting tool are determined as the function of feed, depth of cut and nose radius of cutting too, And an effective approach angle is determined by depth of cut and nose radius.
