The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the spread of COVID-19 infectious diseases acts as a fear to investors and affects the direction and volatility of stock returns. The investor fear index was proposed using the domestic confirmed patient information of COVID-19, and the influence on stock prices was empirically analyzed. The direction and volatility models of stock prices used the Granger causality and GARCH models, respectively. The results of empirical analysis using the KOSPI index from February 20, 2020 to June 30, 2021 are as follows: First, the COVID-19 fear index showed causality to future stock prices. Second, the COVID-19 fear index has a negative effect on the volatility of KOSPI index returns. In future studies, it is necessary to document the cause by using individual business performance and stock price instead of the stock index.
Determining the timing of buying and selling in stock investment is one of the most important factors to increase the return on stock investment. Buying low and selling high makes a profit, but buying high and selling low makes a loss. The price is determined by the quantity of buying and selling, which determines the price of a stock, and buying and selling is also related to corporate performance and economic indicators. The fear and greed index provided by CNN uses seven factors, and by assigning weights to each element, the weighted average defined as greed and fear is calculated on a scale between 0 and 100 and published every day. When the index is close to 0, the stock market sentiment is fearful, and when the index is close to 100, it is greedy. Therefore, we analyze the trading criteria that generate the maximum return when buying and selling the US S&P 500 index according to CNN fear and greed index, suggesting the optimal buying and selling timing to suggest a way to increase the return on stock investment.

This paper has proposed presumable method of ergonomics estimate index from evoked potential of visual stimulation for establishment a fixed ergonomics estimate index. The proposed method presumes continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics using prony method. Band characteristic of alpha and beta band, and that of background and evoked potential was analyzed using FFT method. And, that were presumed continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics using porny method. As a result of that proposed method presumed band characteristic, continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics, classification of ergonomics of impatient, rage and fear were practicable.
The object of this study was to investigate the relation between variables that is related to the general characteristics, fear of falling and falls efficacy. Data were collected from a convenience sample of 105 elders. Fear of falling and falls efficacy are measured structured questionnaires each. This study analyzed by SAS program. There was a significant difference of fear of falling according to education level(p=.003), body mass index(p=.016). There was a significant difference of falls efficacy according to gender(p<.001), education level(p=.047), body mass index(p=.019), number of chronic disease(p=.021). Fear of falling and age(r=0.23, p=.018) had significant positive correlations in the elders. Falls efficacy and number of chronic disease(r=-0.26, p=.010) had significant negative correlations in the elders. Fear of falling and falls efficacy are mutually contradictious concept. Also, both are important for the health of elderly. This result can be used for the elderly care and development of the program for the improvement of the falling efficacy.

Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the correlation between fear-avoidance beliefs and neck pain/neck disability caused by traffic accidents. Methods : We surveyed 52 patients who were injured in traffic accidents. The patients completed baseline measures of pain, disability, fear-avoidance beliefs according to the visual analogue scale(VAS), neck disability index(NDI) and a fear-avoidance beliefs questionnaire (FABQ). At the end of medical treatment, VAS and NDI were reassessed. In order to determine the relationship between FABQ(including its subscales), change of VAS and NDI, Pearson correlation coefficients were used. To examine the accuracy of previously reported cut-off scores, we classified the patients into low and high groups and analyzed the change of VAS and NDI. The relationship was measured by Mann-Whitney U-test and a student's T-test. Results : FABQ and its subscales(total, physical activity and work) were significantly correlated with final VAS and NDI. FABQ-T showed low significant negative correlation with change of NDI. Previously reported cut-off scores did not show a statistical significance in this study Conclusions : This study suggests that screening for fear-avoidance beliefs may be useful for identifying patients at risk of prolonged pain after traffic accidents.

Mainland China area has been a long-term, major trade rival and partner of Taiwan, accounting for more than 40% of Taiwan's total annual trade exports, and so Sino-US trade friction is expected to have a significant impact on Taiwan's economy in the future. This study focuses on major bad news of Sino-US trade frictions and how it generates short-term shocks for Taiwan's equity market and fear sentiment. It further explores the mutual interpretation relationship between price changes such as VIX, Taiwan's stock market index, and the VIX ETF to identify which factors have information leadership as leading indicators. The study period covers 750 trading days from 2017/1/3 to 2020/1/31. This study finds that, when a policy news is announced, the stock market index falls significantly, the change in the trading price (net value) of the VIX ETF rises significantly, and the overprice rate significantly drops, but VIX does not, showing that fear sentiment exists in the Taiwan's market. The net value of the VIX ETF shows an information advantage as a leading indicator. This study suggests that, when the world's two largest economies clash over trade, the impact on Taiwan's equity market is inevitable, and that short-term fear effects will arise.
Background: The aim of this study was to provide insight on dental fear amongst schoolchildren and evaluate the association between caries experience and fear of dental procedures. Methods: A sample size of 250 students (both sexes) of ages 10-14 years were enrolled in the study. Before dental examination, each participant was informed about the study and given the Children's Fear Survey Schedule - Dental Subscale (CFSS-DS) questionnaire. Children who scored greater than 38 were included in the 'with dental fear' group and those who scored less than 38 were assigned to the 'without dental fear' group. All oral check-ups were carried out on the school premises according to WHO criteria. Results: There were 105 children (42%) who experienced dental fear. As CFSS-DS scores increased, scores on the Decayed, Missing and Filled Surfaces Index (DMFS) also increased. Scores were highest on "injections" followed by "dentist drill" and "feeling of choking". Children were significantly less anxious about items of dental treatment if they had experienced that particular form of treatment. Female participants were found to be more dentally anxious than the male participants. Conclusions: The data revealed dental fear in 10-14 years old children and showed that dental fear scores decreased with increase in age and experience.
As the non-face-to-face economic situation developed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, untact stock groups appeared in the stock market. This study proposed the Korea COVID-19 fear index following the spread of infectious diseases in the COVID-19 pandemic situation and analyzed the influence on the untact stock and contact stock returns. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows. First, as a result of the Granger causality analysis using the Korea COVID-19 fear index, significant causality was found in the return of contact stocks such as Korean Air, Hana Tour, CJ CGV, and Paradise. Second, as a result of stock price prediction based on the LSTM model, Kakao, Korean Air, and Naver's prediction performance was high. Third, the investment performances of the Alexander filter entry rule using the predicted stock price were high in Naver futures and Kakao futures. This study can find a difference from previous studies in that it analyzed the influence of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic on untact and contact stocks in the COVID-19 situation where the non-face-to-face economy is in full swing.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument for Korean Scaling Fear (KSF)-1.1 in scaling patients. Methods : 402 sample size for scaling patients was studied in Daegu city in July and August of 2011. Mean and standard deviation was calculated in 3 dimensions(FWS: fear while scaling, DDH: distrust on dental hygienist, FAS: fear after scaling). Results : Age of 402 subjects was 36.5 years. In analyzing reliability for item-level, a range of correlation coefficient(${\alpha}$) on item-internal consistency(FWS, DDH, and FAS) was 0.58~0.88(${\alpha}$=0.90), 0.40~0.71(${\alpha}$=0.82), and 0.54~0.63(${\alpha}$=0.82), respectively. Floor(%) and ceiling(%) value on 3 dimensions were also 9.2% and 4.0%, 12.4% and 0.5%, and 17.7% and 1.2%, respectively, therefore, we found statistically high reliability for those(p<0.001). With explanatory factor analysis, this study could generate 3 dimensions(factor 1, eigenvalue 5.41, proportion 0.49; factor 2, eigenvalue 1.50, proportion 0.14; factor 3, eigenvalue 1.04, proportion 0.09) and 11 sub-scales. Also confirmatory factor analysis results showed that the KSF1.1 model was fitted very well in analysis of model fit($x^2$=112.94, df=41, p=0.000; goodness of fit index=0.95; adjusted goodness of fit index=0.92; root mean square residual=0.057). Conclusions : In conclusion, The findings of this study showed that developed reliable and valid instrument for measuring the KSF1.1 in the scaling patients.

Background: Fear and fatalism have been proposed as factors affecting breast cancer screening, but the evidence is not strong. This study aimed to determine relationships of fear and fatalism with breast cancer screening behavior among Tabriz women in Iran. Materials and Methods: In a cross- sectional study, 370 women referred to 12 health centers in Tabriz were selected with two-stage cluster sampling and data regarding breast cancer screening, fatalism and fear of breast cancer were collected respectively with a checklist for screening performance, Champions Fear and Pow Fatalism Questionnaires. Data were analyzed by logistic regression with SPSS software version 16. Results: Only 43% and 23% of participants had undergone breast self- examination and clinical breast examination. Among women older than 40 years, 38.2% had mammography history and only 2.7% of them had done it annually. Although fatalism and fear had a stimulating effects on breast cancer screening performance th relationships were not significant (P>0.05). There was a negative significant correlation between fear and fatalism (r= -0.24, p=0.000). On logistic regression analysis, age (OR=1.037, p<0.01) and income status (OR= 0.411, p<0.05) significantly explained BSE and age (OR=1.051, p<0.01) and body mass index (OR= 0.879, p<0.01) explained CBE. Also BMI (OR= 0.074, p<0.05) and income status (OR=0.155, p<0.01) was significantly effective for mammography following. Conclusions: Breast cancer screening behavior is inappropriate and affected by family livelihood status and lifestyle leads to weight gain, so that for promoting of screening behaviors, economic support to families, lifestyle modification and public education are suggested.
