춘천시 대기 중 PM2.5 및 금속성분의 장기간 농도 특성 (Long-term Characteristics of PM2.5 and Its Metallic Components in Chuncheon, Korea)

  • In this study, $PM_{2.5}$ samples were collected during approximately 3 years in Chuncheon, a small residential and tourist city, in Korea. The average $PM_{2.5}$ concentration was $26.9{\mu}g/m^3$, exceeding the annual national air quality standard. $PM_{2.5}$ showed typical seasonal variation, having higher concentration in winter and lower concentration in summer. Sixteen metallic elements in $PM_{2.5}$ were also analyzed, and K was the highest contributor especially in late fall and winter. In addition, K considerably increased for the top 10% of $PM_{2.5}$ samples and showed the highest correlation coefficient with $PM_{2.5}$ among all other metallic elements. These results suggest that the combustion of agricultural residue and other biomass, the major source of K was likely to be important to high $PM_{2.5}$ concentration events in this city. Crustal elements including Al, Fe, Si, Ti, Mg showed high concentration in spring while Cr, Cu and Ni were relatively consistent throughout a year. Principal component analysis was used to trace the sources, and soil re-suspension, combustion of biomass and fossil fuels, and asphalt concrete production were identified as the main sources of $PM_{2.5}$.

  • 바이오매스 가스화 프로세스 개발에 있어서 가장 기본적인 해결과제는 고발열량의 합성가스 제조, 냉가스 효율의 향상, 타르 발생량 저감 및 제거이다. 가스화 효율 향상에 대한 연구는 국내외 적으로 많이 이루어지고 있으나, 타르 발생량 저감에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어져 있지 않다. 타르는 분자량이 큰 방향적 탄화수소로 응축되면 점성이 높아 배관폐쇄, 정제설비의 압력손실 증가로 인해 운전정지 및 가스화율 저하의 원인이 된다. 가스화로에서 타르 발생량을 저감시키는 방법 중에는 Ni계 촉매를 이용하는 방법이 있으나, 카본 누적에 의한 활성저하, 알칼리금속에 의한 응집 등의 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 한편 철산화물은 합성가스 중의 C2-C3계의 타르를 분해하는데 효과가 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 적벽돌, 염색슬러지 회재 등에는 철산화물이 다량 함유되어 있는 것에 착안하여 폐기물중의 폐금속을 이용한 바이오매스 가스화에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 점토광물계 폐기물인 적벽돌 파쇄물($SiO_2$ 67.2%, $Al_2O_3$ 19.7%, $Fe_2O_3$ 8.7%, $K_2O$ 2.0%, $TiO_2$ 1.2%, MgO 0.7%)을 전처리 한 후 유동매체로하여 우드펠렛을 가스화한 결과, 가스 생성량이 증가하고, 타르 및 탄화수소류가 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 특히 타르는 후단의 타르 트랩에서 타르가 거의 검출이 되지 않았다. 전처리를 하지 않은 적벽돌 파쇄물은 반응시간이 경과한 후에 가스화율이 증가함에 따라 철화합이 가스화로내에서 환원되어 타르를 분해하는데에는 어느 정도의 반응시간이 필요한 것을 확인하였다.

대유 페그마이트광상의 광물조성과 K-Ar 연대 (Mineral Chemistry and K.Ar Age of the Daeyou Pegmatite Deposit)

  • The Daeyou pegmatite is located at the central westerm part of the peninsula. Geology of the mine area consists mainy of pre-Combrian granite gneiss and leucoratic gneiss which are intruded by Mesozoic granites. The pegmatite deposits occur within granite gneiss. Most of pegmatites contain quartz, perthite, microcline-perthite, microcline, sodic plagioclase and tourmaline as dominant minerals with accessory minerals of mica (muscovite, biotite, sericite)and pyrite. Tourmaline occurs as four types: 1) unaltered single crystals, 2) patially sericitized grains bordered by sericite assemblage, 3) tourmaline intergrown with feldspar and qurtz grains, and 4) tourmaline introduced veinlet/ On the basic of optical, X-ray diffraction and chemical analysis, the composition of tourmaline mostly falls on the schorl-elbaite join, in the composition of tourmaline mostly falls on the schorl-elbraite join, in the composition of schorl end member from 0 to about 50%. In spite of the different occurrences, chemical composition of tourmaline shows the limited ranges as follows: $SiO_{2}$ (34.53~35.01 wt.%), $Al_{2}O_{3}$ (33.58~34.26wt.%), FeO (13.73~14.17wt.%), $Na_{2}O$ (1.60~1.72wt.%), MgO (0.56~0.72wt.%), MnO (0.12~0.18wt.%), CaO (0.02~0.06wt.%), $K_{2}O$(0.02~0.03wt.%) $TiO_{2}$ (0.02~0.05wt.%) and $Cr_{2}O_{3}$ (0.02~0.03wt.%). K-Ar ages of the muscovite and sericite fall between 1010$\pm$15 and 1074$\pm$16Ma and between 161.56$\pm$3.09 and 161.67$\pm$Ma, respectivrly. This means that hydrothrmal alteration occurred during middle Jurassic, whereas the pegmatite was initally formed during the late proterozoic age.

Chemical Properties of Indoor Individual Particles Collected at the Daily Behavior Spaces of a Factory Worker

  • The main purpose of the study was to clarify the properties of individual particles collected at each behavior space of a factory worker. The samplings of size-segregated ($PM_{2.1-1.1}$ and $PM_{4.7-3.3}$) indoor particles were conducted at three different behavior spaces of a factory worker who is engaged in an auto parts manufacturing plant (i.e., his home, his work place in factory, and his favorite restaurant). Elemental specification (i.e., relative elemental content and distribution in and/or on individual particles) was performed by a micro-PIXE system. Every element detected from the coarse particulate matters of home was classified into three groups, i.e., a group of high net-counts (Na, Al, and Si), a group of intermediate net-counts (Mg, S, Cl, K, and Ca), and a group of minor trace elements (P, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Pb). The results of EF for $PM_{4.7-3.3}$ in home indicated that several heavy metals were generated from the sources within the house itself. An exceptional feature shown in the individual particles in workplace is that Cr, Mn, and Co were clearly detected in both fine and coarse particles. Cluster analysis suggested that the individual coarse particles ($PM_{4.7-3.3}$) collected at the indoor of factory were chemically heterogeneous and they modified with sea-salt, mineral, and artificially derived elements. The principal components in individual coarse particles collected at restaurant were sea-salt and mineral without mixing with harmful trace elements like chromium and manganese. Compared to the indoor fine particles of home and restaurant, many elements, especially, Cl, Na, Cr, Mn, Pb, and Zn showed overwhelmingly high net-counts in those of factory.

진공사출금형용 STS316L 금속 다공체 제조 및 기계적 특성 (Fabrication and Mechanical Properties of STS316L Porous Metal for Vacuum Injection Mold)

  • In this study, porous stainless steel (STS316L) sintered body was fabricated by powder metallurgy method and its properties such as porosity, compressive yield strength, hardness, and permeability were evaluated. 67.5Fe-17Cr- 13Ni-2.5Mo (wt%) powder was produced by a water atomization. The atomized powder was classified into size with under $45{\mu}m$ and over $180{\mu}m$, and then they were compacted with various pressures and sintered at $1210^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in a vacuum atmosphere. The porosities of sintered bodies could be obtained in range of 20~53% by controlling the compaction pressure. Compressive yield strength and hardness were achieved up to 268 MPa and 94 Shore D, respectively. Air permeability was obtained up to $79l/min{\cdot}cm^2$. As a result, mechanical properties and air permeability of the optimized porous body having a porosity of 25~40% were very superior to that of Al alloy.

하수슬러지 소각재와 무기바인더를 이용한 응용 블록 개발 II (Development of Application Block Using Geobond and Ash from Sewage Sludge Incinerator II)

  • 본 연구는 하수처리장에서 발생하는 하수슬러지 소각재와 Geobond를 이용한 응용 블록의 개발을 위하여 수행하였다. 실험은 무소성 공정으로 진행하였으며, Sewage Sludge Ash (SSA)를 Geobond(무기바인더)와 특수시멘트인 초조강 시멘트 마이크로 시멘트, 모래 등의 바인더를 혼합한 각각의 페이스트 시편을 성형 후 건조 및 양생과정을 거친 시편을 단기 압축강도를 측정한 후 28일 장기 양생한 결과 압축 강도가 64.6 MPa로 발현하였다. 이는 KS기준치 22.54 MPa ($229.7kg/cm^2$)을 훨씬 상회하는 고강도의 압축강도를 나타내었다. 하수슬러지 소각재(SSA) 첨가율은 각 바인더 별 약 10~40%까지 혼합 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 SSA를 무기바인더인 Geobond와 특수시멘트(HESPC, MC)의 대체 물질로의 사용이 가능함을 입증하였다.

  • 본 연구는 국내 하수처리장에서 발생하는 감량화/안정화된 소각재를 무기바인더로 재이용하기 위하여 수행하였다. 실험은 무소성 공정으로 진행하였으며, Sewage Sludge Ash를 시멘트, Geobond 등의 바인더와 모래를 혼합하여 페이스트 시편과 몰탈 시편으로 성형하였다. 성형 후 양생과정을 거친 시편을 압축강도를 측정한 결과 KS 기준치 22.54 Mpa ($229.7kg/cm^2$)을 상회하고, 하수슬러지 소각재(SSA) 첨가율은 약 10~40%까지 가능한 것으로 나타나 개발하고자 한 하수슬러지 소각재를 무기바인더인 시멘트, Geobond의 대체 물질로 재활용이 가능함을 입증하였다.

강설시 도심지역 에어러솔의 물리.화학적 특성 (The Physio-Chemical Characteristics of Aerosol in Urban Area During Snowfall)

  • To investigate the physio-chemical components and properties of aerosol particles in urban area sampling of aerosol particles was carried out in the campus of Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, during snowfall. Aerosol particles were collected on millipore filter papers using a low volume air sampler. Their shapes, sizes and chemical components were analyzed by a SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) and an EDX(Energy Dispersive X-ray). As a results, ice crystals of dendrite and column types were predominantly shown at mature and developing stage of snowfall intensity. The denerite and sector plate types of ice crystals were mainly originated from the sea but column types were come from soil. Scavenging effect by snowfall was greatly also shown at dendrite type ice crystals that embryo was fully developd. Al, Si elements were shown at high frequencies as compared with others. Na, Cl components were especially shown at high frequencies under the sea-breeze wind during snowfall. Anthropogenic aerosol particles had shown with irregular shapes and sizes, relatively. Mainly 3-7$\mu$m aerosol particles were abundant and coarse particles also could be seen during snowfall. Ca, Zn, Fe components mainly caused by spike tires from vehicles in winter season were dominant before snowfall, however the element S mainly caused by human activity was rich after snowfall. The pH values of snow in Sapporo city were higher than those at coastal area. The concentration of chemical components in aerosol particles was also affected by surface winds. Aerosol particles in urban area, Sapporo were mainly affected by human activities like vehicles and combustion with wind system. And their types were related with snowfall intensity.

포항 법광사지 출토 녹유전의 자연 과학적 조사 (The Scientific Analysis of Floor Tile Excavated from the Beobgwangsa Temple Site in the Pohang)

  • 고대건축에 있어 중요부재로 사용되었던 전돌은 의장이 화려하고 섬세하여 통일신라시대에는 당${\cdot}$일본의 수준을 훨씬 능가하였다. 이 중 녹유전은 그 사용례가 특별한 건축물에 한정하여 사용하였으며 남겨진 자료 또한 소량일 뿐만 아니라, 현재까계 녹유전과 관련된 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있어 분석을 시도하여 보았다. 조사된 녹유전은 통일신라시대의 가장 대표적인 포항 법광사지 출토 녹유전이다. 녹유전의 성분분석은 미소부X선회절분석기, 유도결합플라르마발광분석기, 미소부형광X선분석기, 열중량/시차별분석기/열이온화질량분석기의 방법으로 이루어졌다. 현미경관찰 결과, 단면구조는 대부분이 석영, 장석이며 주변에서 쉽게 관찰할 수 있는 보통의 점토입자로 구성되어 있었다. 태토의 성분 분석예는 거의 없음으로 기존에 조사 발표된 경주 및 장도 출토 토기와 비교하여 시 Al2O3와 Fe2O3가 조금 낮고 SiO2 성분이 더 높게 분석되었다. 또한 녹유의 성분분석 결과, PbO $70.2wt\%$를 함유한 순수한 납 유리질이었다. 전돌의 소성온도는 TG/DTA를 통해 $573^{\circ}C$에서의 흡열피크$(\alpha-quartz\rightarrow\beta-quartz)$$870^{\circ}C$에서 석영의 상전이$(\beta-quartz{\rightarrow}tridymite)$에 따른 발열피크가 관찰되었다. 이는 $900^{\circ}C$ 이전에는 특이한 열적 변화가 없고 이 온도 범위 이상에서 변화가 일어났다는 것을 의미하므로 $900^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 소성된 것이라 사료된다. XRD를 이용한 광물분석에서는 전형적인 점토광물인 quartz와 feldspar, muscovite peak가 동정되고, 고온 소성시 보여지는 tridymite, mullite와 cristobalite peak가 동정되지 않은 것으로 석영의 결정구조 변화에 따른 소성온도 추정으로 보아 $900^{\circ}C$ 이하의 저온소성으로 볼 수 있다. 전돌 녹유의 납동위원소비 분석결과는 한국중남-남부광산연과 일치하고 있으며, 따라서 포항 법광사지의 녹유전돌의 제작산지는 한반도 남부의 원료를 사용하여 제작했음을 추정할 수 있다.

탄소나노튜브의 저온성장을 위한 합성가스의 최적화 연구 (Optimization of Growth Gases for the Low-temperature Synthesis of Carbon Nanotubes)

  • This study investigated the growth characteristics of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by changing a period of annealing time and a $C_{2}H_{2}/H_2$ flow ratio at temperature as low as $450^{\circ}C$ with inductively coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition. The 1-nm-thick Fe-Ni-Co alloy thin film served as a catalyst layer for the growth of CNTs, which was thermally evaporated on the 15-nm-thick Al underlayer deposited on the 50-nm-thick Ti diffusion barrier. The annealing at low temperature of $450^{\circ}C$ brought about almost no granulation of the catalyst layer, and the CNT growth was not affected by a period of annealing time. A study of changing the flow rate of $C_{2}H_{2}$ and $H_2$ showed that as the ratio of the $C_{2}H_{2}$ flow rate to the $H_2$ flow rate was lowered, the CNTs were grown to be longer With further decreasing the flow ratio, the length of CNTs reached the maximum and then became shorter. Under the optimized gas flow rates, we successfully synthesized CNTs with a uniform length over a 4-inch Si wafer at $450^{\circ}C$.
