황(黃) 원료(原料)로서 pyrite와 chalcopyrite를 사용(使用)한 matte 상(相)의 제조(製造) 및 침출특성(浸出特性) (Preparation of Matte with Pyrite and Chalcopyrite as sulfur source and Leaching behaviour)

  • Cu-Ni-Co-Fe 함금상에 황의 원료로서 pyrite 또는 chalcopyrite를 첨가하여 매트상을 제조하는 방법에 대하여 검토하였다. 두 매트상 모두 주성분은 $(FeSi)_9S_8$, $CuFeS_2$, FeS, $Co_4S_3$, $Ni_3S_2$ 그리고 $Cu_2S$의 금속황화물 이었으며, chalcopyrite를 첨가한 매트의 경우 구리의 함량이 높아 $Cu_2S$의 피크가 더 높게 나타났다. 제조한 매트상의 침출 결과 모두 구리는 95%이상, 니켈과 코발트는 90% 이상의 침출율을 보였다. Pyrite와 chalcopyrite 첨가량이 증가할수록 침출액의 pH는 낮아지고, 용해되어 있는 철이온의 농도와 잔사량은 증가하였다. 한편 매트 중 황의 함량변화에 따른 유가금속의 침출율은 모든 시료에 대해 크게 변하지 않았으며, 다만 pyrite를 이용하여 제조한 매트의 경우에 Ni과 Co가 황 함량 증가에 따라 다소 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 모양으로 유도된 자기 이방성을 가진 $Ni_{80}Fe_{20}/SiO_2$ laminates 다층막의 자기적 성질을 조사 하였다. 다층막은 rf 다이오드 스퍼터링 시스템을 이용하여 개개의 $Ni_{80}Fe_{20}$SiO_2$ (at%) 합금 타겟들로부터 Si 또는 upilex 기판에 적층하였다. 여러 가지 개수(N)의 이중층으로 구성된 $Ni_{80}Fe_{20}/SiO_2$ laminates 가 적층되었다. 사진식각기술을 사용하여 타원형 어레이 패턴을 가진 $Ni_{80}Fe_{20}/SiO_2$ laminates 가 제작 되었다. 자기적 성질은 B-H 히스테리시스 그래프와 고주파 permeameter를 사용하여 상온에서 측정 되었다. 다층막에서 도메인 reversal 시 발견된 몇 개의 스텝들은 자성체 박막 사이에 존재하는 coupling 때문으로 사료된다. 내재하는 intrinsic 일축 자기 이방성 field는 N이 증가하면 증가한다. 전체 자기 이방성 field의 실험값은 계산된 값과 잘 일치 하였다. 본 연구에서는 소형의 타원형 어레이를 가진 다층막의 laminate 구조체를 이용하여 더 큰 일축 자기 이방성을 유도하고 그 결과 laminate의 동작 주파수를 극대화시키고자 하였다.

Edge-Cracking Behavior of CoCrFeMnNi High-Entropy Alloy During Hot Rolling

  • This work investigated edge-cracking behavior of equiatomic CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy during hot rolling at rolling temperatures $500{\leq}T_R{\leq}1000^{\circ}C$. Edge cracks did not form in the material rolled at $500^{\circ}C$, but widened and deepened into the inside of plate as $T_R$ increased from $500^{\circ}C$. Edge cracks were most severe in the material rolled at $1000^{\circ}C$. Mn-Cr-O type non-metallic inclusion and oxidation were identified as major factors that caused edge cracking. The inclusions near edge region acted as preferential sites for crack formation. Connection between inclusion cracks and surface cracks induced edge cracking. Rolling at $T_R{\geq}600^{\circ}C$ generated distinct inclusion cracks whereas they were not serious at $T_R=500^{\circ}C$, so noticeable edge cracks formed at $T_R{\geq}600^{\circ}C$. At $T_R=1000^{\circ}C$, significant oxidation occurred at the crack surface. This accelerated edge crack penetration by embrittling the crack tip, so severe edge cracking occurred at $T_R=1000^{\circ}C$.

  • Stress corrosion cracks in Alloy 600 compact tension specimens tested at $325^{\circ}C$ in a simulated primary water environment of pressurized water reactor were analyzed by analytical transmission electron microscopy and secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS). From a fine-probe chemical analysis, oxygen was found on the grain boundary just ahead of the crack tip, and chromium oxides were precipitated on the crack tip and the grain boundary attacked by the oxygen diffusion, leaving a Cr/Fe depletion (or Ni enrichment) zone. The oxide layer inside the crack was revealed to consist of a double (inner and outer) layer. Chromium oxides existed in the inner layer, with NiO and (Ni,Cr) spinels in the outer layer. From the nano-SIMS analysis, oxygen was detected at the locations of intergranular chromium carbides ahead of the crack tip, which means that oxygen diffused into the grain boundary and oxidized the surfaces of the chromium carbides. The intergranular chromium carbide blunted the crack tip, thereby suppressing the crack propagation.

  • Molten salt reactors represent a promising advancement in nuclear technology due to their potential for enhanced safety, higher efficiency, and reduced nuclear waste. However, the development of structural materials that can survive under severe corrosion environments is crucial. In the present work, pure Ni was deposited on the surface of 316H stainless steel using a directed energy deposition (DED) process. This study aimed to fabricate pure Ni alloy layers on an STS316H alloy substrate. It was observed that low laser power during the deposition of pure Ni on the STS316H substrate could induce stacking defects such as surface irregularities and internal voids, which were confirmed through photographic and SEM analyses. Additionally, the diffusion of Fe and Cr elements from the STS316H substrate into the Ni layers was observed to decrease with increasing Ni deposition height. Analysis of the composition of Cr and Fe components within the Ni deposition structures allows for the prediction of properties such as the corrosion resistance of Ni.

선박 프로펠러의 케비테이션 침식 저항 향상을 위한 Ni-P 무전해 도금층 형성 및 열처리를 통한 미세조직 제어 (Electroless Ni-P Plating and Heat Treatments of the Coating Layer for Enhancement of the Cavitation Erosion Resistance of Vessel Propellers)

  • For enhanced cavitation erosion resistance of vessel propellers, an electroless Ni-P plating method was introduced to form a coating layer with high hardness on the surface of Cu alloy (CAC703C) used as vessel propeller material. An electroless Ni-P plating reaction generated by Fe atoms in the Cu alloy occurred, forming a uniform amorphous layer with P content of ~10 wt%. The amorphous layer transformed to (Ni3P+Ni) two phase structure after heat treatment. Cavitation erosion tests following the ASTM G-32 standard were carried out to relate the microstructural changes by heat treatment and the cavitation erosion resistance in distilled water and 3.5 wt% NaCl solutions. It was possible to obtain excellent cavitation erosion resistance through careful microstructural control of the coating layer, demonstrating that this electroless Ni-P plating process is a viable coating process for the enhancement of the cavitation erosion resistance of vessel propellers.

22Cr 린 듀플렉스 스테인리스강의 공식저항성에 미치는 Mn과 Ni 첨가의 영향 (Effect of Alloying Elements of Mn and Ni on the Pitting Corrosion Resistance of 22Cr Lean Duplex Stainless Steel)

  • Duplex stainless steels have the dual microstructure of austenite and ferrite phases. This steel exhibits generally a high corrosion resistance and higher mechanical strength compared with austenitic stainless steels. The steels used in the investigation have the chemical composition of Fe-22Cr-xNi-yMn-0.2N in which the contents of Ni and Mn were varied with maintaining the equal [Ni/Cr] equivalent. The fraction of ferrite phase was increased with the increase of annealing temperature. The impact factor of Mn element on the [Ni] equivalent was amended on the basis of the results of the investigation. 4Mn-2Ni alloy showed the highest pitting corrosion resistance. The fraction ratio, grain size and misorientation angle between grains were measured, and the correlation with pitting potential was investigated.

강자성체 박막(Fe-Ni, Co-Ni)의 자기-저항 효과에 관한 연구( I ) (Magnetoresistive Effect in Ferromagnetic Thin Films( I ))

  • 자기-저항 센서를 제작하기 위하여 Fe-Ni 합금과 Co-Ni 합금을 슬라이드 그라스와 Si wafer에 진공 증착하여 sensor element를 제작한 후 포화자속밀도($B_{s}$), 보자력($H_{c}$), 자기-저항 변화율 등을 조사하였다. 진공 증착된 Fe-Ni 합금 박막의 포화자속밀도는 0.65T이었으며 자화주파수 1 kHz에서 보자력은 0.379A/cm이었고 자냉처리 후 종방향 보자력은 0.370Acm(//), 횡방향 보자력은 0.390Acm(${\bot}$)로 변화되었다. 자기-저항 변화율은 박막의 산화로 인하여 매우 불안정하였다. 진공 증착된 Co-Ni 박막의 포화자속밀도는 0.66T이었으며 자냉처리 후의 종방향 보자력은 5.895Acm(//)이었고 횡방향 보자력은 5.898A/cm(${\bot}$)이었다. 한편 자기-저항 변화율(${\Delta}R/R$)은 $3.6{\sim}3.7%$로써 실온에서 매우 안정하였다. Fe-Ni 박막은 화학친화력이 강하여 자기-저항 센서 제조 공정에서 많은 문제점을 야기시키고 있으나, Co-Ni 박막은 화학친화력이 작고 자기-저항 효과가 뚜렷하여 고온용 자기-저항 소자 개발용 재료로 매우 적합할 것으로 사료된다.

폴리머 코팅된 NiTi합금 교정선의 표면특성 (Surface Characteristics of Polymer Coated NiTi Alloy Wire for Orthodontics)

  • NiTi alloy has been used for orthodontic wire due to good mechanical properties, such as elastic strength and frictional resistance, combined with a high resistance to corrosion. Recently, these wire were coated by polymer and ceramic materials for aesthetics. The purpose of this study was to investigate surface characteristics of polymer coated NiTi alloy wire for orthodontics using various instruments. Wires (round type and rectangular type) were used, respectively, for experiment. Polymer coating was carried out for wire. Specimen was investigated with field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy(EDS) and atomic force microscopy(AFM). The phase transformation of non-coated NiTi wire from martensite to austenite occurred at the range of $14{\sim}15^{\circ}C$, in the case of coated wire, it occurred at the range of $16{\sim}18^{\circ}C$. Polymer coating on NiTi wire surface decreased the surface defects such as scratch which was formed at severe machined surface. From the AFM results, the average surface roughness of non-coated and coated NiTi wire was 13.1 nm, and 224.5 nm, respectively. From convetional surface roughness test, the average surface roughness of non-coated and coated NiTi wire was $0.046{\mu}m$, and $0.718{\mu}m$, respectively.

Ni-Co 합금강의 기계적 특성에 대한 탄소함량의 영향 (Influence of Carbon Content on the Mechanical Properties of the Ni-Co Alloy)

  • This study was to evaluate the effect of carbon content on metallic change and fatigue characteristics with Fe-29% Ni-17% Co, low heat expansion alloy, widely using electronic components, precision machines, and sealing with glass and metal etc. The steels were fabricated with variation of carbon content, 0, 0.03, 0.06, 0.1, and 0.20% with VIM and tensile test and fatigue test were performed to achieve the above purpose. The more carbon content, the higher hardness value and yield strength. But elongation of 0.03%C, 0.06%C, and 0.10%C specimen decreased about 2.2%, 1.5% and 0.8% respectively mote than that of the base metal. Especially the strength and elongation of 0.20%C specimen increased simultaneously about 14.4% and 7.5%. Fatigue life of 0.03%C specimen decreased but the more carbon content, the higher fatigue life over 0.06% carbon content more than that of base metal.
