  • The magnetic properties of aluminium anodized film in which Co-Fe alloy electrodeposited are investigated with regard to the alloy composition of magnetic films. The electrodeposited Co-Fe particles are confirmed to be single phase Co-Fe alloys by X-ray diffractions. The coercive force as well as the magnetic anisotropy energy can be controlled by changing the composition of the alloy. Magneticfilms having high saturation magnetization and high coercive force were obtained.

  • We investigated the effects of Sm on the microstructure and magnetic properties of Fe-Co Alloy films prepared by a DC triode sputtering. The magnetostriction was found to be changed with the Sm content from positive to negative values, taking a zero magnetostriction was at about 3 at% Sm. The Sm content dependence of magnetostriction was explained by the formation of Sm enriched amorphous phase surrounding the main bcc (Fe,Co) crystalline phase, which was observed by a high resolution transmission electron microscopy.

  • The temperature-dependent magnetization curves of amorphous Fe-Co-(Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb)-B alloys were measured using a vibrating sample magnetometer from 77 K up to 900 K. The spin wave stiffness constants and the range of the exchange interaction were calculated from the saturation magnetization values at 0 K. Curie temperatures and the Bloch coefficients estimated from the saturation magnetization curves. The low temperature dependence of magnetization is in good agreement with Bloch relation, $M_{s}(T)=M_{s}(O)(1-BT^{3/2}-CT^{5/2})$. The spin wave stiffness constant and the range of exchange interaction are decreased by substitution of heavy rare earth (Tb, Gd).

  • The composition, the microstructure and the magnetic properties(HC and Hk) of Fe-Co-Ni alloy electrodeposits were investigated according to the electrolysis conditions using sulfate bath paddle agitated. The current efficiency of the alloys electrodeposition was considerably low in the range of 16∼50%. The Fe content(wt.%) of the alloy increased from 20% to 57% with current density, while Ni content of them decreased in the range of 70∼24% respectively, and Co content was nearly constant. As a result, Fe/Ni ratio of the alloy increased from 0.3 to 2.0 showing the anomalous codeposition. The structure of the alloy changed from fcc to the mixed one of fcc+bcc with the increase of Fe/Ni ratio. The preferred orientation of the alloy with fcc and bcc structure were (220) and (110) respectively. The alloy with Fe/Ni ratio(0.3∼l.2) had the lowest coercivity of 0.4∼0.8 Oe.

  • Amorphous alloys of Co-rich magnetic amorphous films are well known as thpical soft magnetic alloys. They are used for many kinds of electric and electronic parts such as magnetic recording heads, transformers and inductors. CoFeHfO thin films were prepared by RF magnetron reactive sputtering. The films were deposited onto Si(100) substrates with a power of 300 W at room temperature. The reactive gas was introduced up to 10% ($O_2$/(Ar + $O_2$)) during deposition, and the $Co_{39}Fe_{34}Hf_{9.5}O_{17.5}$ thin film exhibit excellent soft magnetic properties : saturation magnetization ($4{\pi}M_s$) of 19kG, magnetic coercivity ($H_c$) of 0.37 Oe, anisotropy field ($H_k$) of 48.62 Oe, and an electrical property is also shown to be as high as 300 ${\mu}{\Omega}cm$. It is assumed that the good soft magnetic properties of $Co_{39}Fe_{34}Hf_{9.5}O_{17.5}$ thin film results from high electrical resistivity and large anisotropy field.

  • The magnetic shape memory alloys have recently received a lot of attention due to the considerable progress achieved in understanding the particular importance and the development of the factors. Among these alloys, the ferromagnetic Co-Ni- alloys have been concerned specially because of the thermoelastic character of the fcc (g) - bct (a) martensitic transformation which exhibits under the action of the temperature (shape memory effect), the stress (superelasticity) and the magnetic field (magnetoelasticity). The morphological, the crystallographical, and the thermal characteristics of thermally induced martensite in Co-35.3Ni-11.3Al(wt.%) and Co-28.1Ni-47.4Fe-3.3Ti (wt.%) alloy have been investigated by the scanning electron microscope (SEM), the X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC).

Fabrication and Magnetic Properties of (Fe,Co)-B-AI-Nb Alloys with Ultrafine Grain Structure ((Fe, Co)-B-Al-Nb 초미세 결정립합금의 제조 및 자기적 특성)

  • 새로운 Fe기 초미세 결정립합금의 제조 가능성 및 자기특성에 관하여 조사하였다. 고포화자화 (Fe.$_{85}$Co.$_{15}$ )$_{80}$B$_{20}$ 비정질합금에서 천이금속을 약 10 at.% Al으로 치환한 (Fe.$_{85}$ Co.$_{15}$ )$_{70}$B$_{20}$Al$_{10}$ 합금은 급속응고에 의하여 비정질 기지내에 직접 .alpha. -Fe(Co)의 석출이 가능하다. 또한 (Fe.$_{85}$Co.$_{15}$ )$_{70}$B$_{20}$Al$_{10}$합금에 2~6 at.% Nb의 첨가는 급속 응고시 결정립성장을 억제하고 포화자왜를 약 6ppm이하로 감소시켜 자기 특성을 개선시킨다. 열처리에 의한 자기 특성은 Nb의 치환량이 증가할 수록 감소한다. 400 .deg. C에서 1시간 열처리한 (Fe.$_{85}$Co.$_{15}$ )$_{70}$ B$_{18}$ Al$_{10}$Nb$_{2}$합금은 평균 약 8nm이하의 .alpha. -Fe(Co) 결정립으로 구성된 초미세 결정립합금 으로 제조가 가능하며, 포화자속밀도, 철손 및 투자율 (f=50 kHz, B$_{m}$ =0.2 T)이 각각 1.2 T, 12W/kg 및 2.5 *$10^{4}$으로 가장 우수하다. 이는 Fe-Si-B-Nb-Cu 초미세결정립합금 및 영자왜 Co기 비정질합금과 거의 같은 자기특성을 나타낸다.다..다.다..낸다.다..

Magnetic Properties of Strained L10-ordered FePt and CoPt: An ab initio Study

  • Using ab initio calculations, the effects of uniaxial, biaxial, and hydrostatic strains on the magnetocrystalline anisotropy of $L1_0$-orderd FePt and CoPt alloys were systematically investigated. Interestingly, the rates and the signs of magnetocrystalline anisotropy changes of FePt and CoPt were determined by the directions and dimensions of strains. The calculation results are consistent with the previous experimental observations and are expected to provide directions to tailor magnetic properties of various types of $L1_0$-ordered FePt and CoPt systems.
