배전자동화시스템에서 전류방향성을 이용한 단말장치의 고장표시 오류 개선 방법 (An Improved Algorithm of Fault Indicator Generation of FRTU in Distribution Automation System)

  • In this paper, an improved method of fault indicator generation algorithm in FRTUs is proposed for the present Distribution Automation System. In order to find fault area, correct FI information should be generated. But when a single line-to-ground fault occurs, FI information is generated in downside of the fault in some circumstance because existing FI algorithm considers only magnitude. It is found that the upside fault current direction if different from the downside fault current direction. Therefore, in order to prevent to generate the wrong fault indication information for FRTU at the downside of the fault, an improved fault indication generation method is developed. Not only the basic conditions are taken into account, but also the directions from the angle difference between zero and positive sequence currents are considered to generated the fault indication information. In case study, the proposed method has been testified and shown the reasonability in generating correct the fault indication information, for many kinds of faults according to conditions.

  • In this paper, an filtering method of FI(Fault Indication) information generated by FRTU(Feeder Remote Terminal Unit)s is proposed for the present DAS(Distribution Automation System). In order to find fault area, correct FI information should be generated. But when a single line-to-ground fault occurs, FI information is generated in downside of the fault in some circumstance because existing FI algorithm considers only magnitude. These wrong FI information can be removed by changing existing algorithm. An improved algorithm considers both the direction of zero-sequence current and the phase of three-phase current&voltage. But many FRTUs are distributed in DAS and Changing the algorithm all of FRTU will spend a lot of time and cost. On the other hand, an filtering algorithm proposed in this paper can substitute for it. The filtering algorithm also considers both the direction of zero-sequence current and the phase of three-phase current&voltage. In case study, the proposed method has been shown the reasonability in filtering the fault indication information.

  • This paper proposes an improved fault indication algorithm in a distribution automation system. A conventional fault indication method, so called YES-NO algorithm, could generate wrong informations under certain conditions such as line to ground fault, large motor double circuit line. In order to prevent mal-operation of fault indicator, direction of fault current are used as well as magnitude. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm has been testified by computer simulation using Matlab power system toolbox.

  • Door Inside Lamp of railway rolling stock is installed on interior of the side doors and illuminated at door opening and closing, isolation and fault. So drivers or passengers can notice the door status visually. In the past, a single color or Bi-color LED Lamps have been using and one ~ multiple lamp was used to implement the feature according to client's requirements. (Example: Total of between 2 and 4 lamps are required for the Warning / Emergency operation / Isolation / Fault.) However these design is not easy to apply if there is the mounting space restrictions and the problems such as rising costs can be caused. In addition, it has vulnerability from point of view aesthetic aspects. Therefore the lamp type has been required that has small size and number of colors in order to resolve these problems. Recently multi LED type door status indication lamp have been developed that can meet the requirements and this lamp has been applied in many railway projects. In this study, I'll introduce the general characteristics and mechanical & electrical characteristics of multi LED type door status indication lamp to help development of this kinds of lamp.

  • This paper gives the information for fault and malfunction of the Elevator for the passenger. For analyzing the fault and malfunction of the elevator equipment we research the report of fault and malfunction which is written by ATP electric director and Elevator maintenance company during recently one year. We analyze the number of fault and malfunction according to classified by month, season, time and classify the kind of fault and malfunction such as stop, fault of door, malfunction of floor indication and so on. And now we research fault and malfunction for the power quality such as Sag, Swell, Interruption, Harmonic, electric voltage rise and so on at elevator equipments and are testing Elevator imitation equipment.

Development of gear fault diagnosis architecture for combat aircraft engine

  • The gear drive of a combat aircraft engine is responsible for power transmission to the different accessories necessary for the engine's operation. Incorrect power transmission can occur due to the presence of failure modes in the gears like bending fatigue, pitting, adhesive wear, scuffing, abrasive wear and polished wear etc. Fault diagnosis of the gear drive is necessary to get an early indication of failure of the gears. The present research is to develop an algorithm using different vibration signal processing techniques on industrial vibration acquisition systems to establish gear fault diagnosis architecture. The signal processing techniques have been used to extract various feature vectors in the development of the fault diagnosis architecture. An open-source dataset of other gear fault conditions is used to validate the developed architecture. The results is a basis for development of artificial intelligence based expert systems for gear fault diagnosis of a combat aircraft engine.

  • The analysis of distribution line faults is essential to the proper protections of the power system. A high impedance fault does not make enough current to cause conventional protective devices. It is well known that undesirable operating conditions and certain types of faults on electric distribution feeders cannot be detected by using conventional protection system. This paper describes an algorithm using back-propagation neural network for pattern recognition and detection of high impedance faults. Fractal dimensions are estimated for distinction between random noise and chaotic behavior in the power system. The fractal dimension of the line current is also used as a indication of the high impedance fault.
