피로하중을 받는 철근콘크리트 휨부재의 처짐산정을 위한 반복크리프 모델 (Cyclic Creep Model for the Deflection Calculation of Reinforced Concrete Flexural Members under Fatigue Loads)

  • 본 연구에서는 반복하중을 받는 철근콘크리트보의 피로현상에 피로의 지속으로 인한 크리프 특성을 고려함으로서 실제의 반복사용하중상태에서 크리프와 피로가 공존하는 것을 반영하여 모델을 구성하였다. 반복크리프 모델에서, 철근 콘크리트 보의 휨손상 진행에 따른 압축영역의 손상속도를 정확히 대표할 수 있는 반복크리프 지수(n)의 특성을 도입하여 평가하였다. 이 지수는 크리프특성의 지수 n$_1$과 피로특성의 지수 n$_2$로 구분하였다. 모델의 적정성을 평가하기 위하여 철근콘크리트보의 피로실험을 수행하였으며, n$_2$의 경우 보통강도에서 고강도까지 콘크리트의 강도와 하중크기를 주요변수로 실험하였다. 본 실험결과로부터 반복하중에 의한 크리프모델의 지수를 결정하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 반복크리프모델은 철근콘크리트 보의 피로손상의 누적과 처짐거동을 잘 설명할 수 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 앞으로 이들 부재의 피로거동해석에 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

강직성 척추염 환자의 통증이 수면장애에 미치는 영향: 피로의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Pain in Patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis on Sleep Disturbance: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Fatigue)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of fatigue on the relationship between pain and sleep disturbance in patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods: The subjects of this study were 109 patients with ankylosing spondylitis who visited the rheumatology department in a university hospital. Subjects completed structured questionnaires measuring pain, sleep disturbance, and fatigue. Data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and 3-step regression analysis. Results: Pain was positively correlated with fatigue (r=.60, p<.001) and sleep disturbance (r=.45, p<.001). Fatigue was positively correlated with sleep disturbance (r=.55, p<.001) and had a mediating effect on the relationship between pain and sleep disturbance. Conclusion: The findings confirm that pain in patients with ankylosing spondylitis affects fatigue and its accumulation has a mediating effect on increasing the level of sleep disturbance. In clinical practice, education on symptom management for patients with ankylosing spondylitis needs to be provided for encouraging proper exercise and rest. Patient education should also include strategies to reduce fatigue and promote sleep in daily lives in addition to pain management.

수직-수평 반복하중을 받는 알루미나 표면에서의 피로손상 누적 (Surface damage accumulation in alumina under the repeated Inclined contact forces)

  • 반복 응력 상태 아래서 알루미나 세라믹의 피로 표면손상 누적현상이 분석되었다. 연속 미끄럼 접촉 시에 발생하는 응력 상태를 재현하기 위해서 동시에 작용하는 수직-수평 반복 압축하중 기법이 사용되었다. 알루미나 구와 평판의 접촉면에서 알루미나 미세 결정의 피로 파손에 의한 마모 입자 형성 기구가 관찰되었고, 반복하중의 횟수와 수직-수평 하중비가 커질수록 마모량은 증가하였다. 반복 접촉하중에 의한 표면손상 누적이 접촉 수직 변위 측정으로 정량화 되었다. 두 접촉 구조물의 강성 (하중-변위 선도의 기울기) 변화가 두 재질의 탄성계수의 변화로 표현되었다.

피로누적에 따른 최적 비행시간 산출에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Flight Time According to the Amount of Fatigue)

  • Since the aircraft has a property of moving in the three-dimensional space, it may cause personally and financially critical damage in the case of an accident. Among the causes of aircraft accident, human factor has occupied about 70% of all accidents. Specially, fatigue among human's problems has been studied earlier than any other factor. Fatigue has been the cause of 75% of accidents that are related to human factor. So many studies have been conducted. But the direction of these studies mainly attach importance to the sleep loss and circadian rhythm. Limitation for flight time of ICAO is 8 hours per day, civil airlines in domestic line also adopt the limitation. But this rule is not based on human's performance but compromise between labor and management. The long-haul flight brings about a mental block to pilot. This mental block decreases performance of pilot and loses a lot of important information. So this may cause many accidents. This paper is to offer optimal flight time according to the amount of fatigue due to increasing flight time. The optimal flight time is searched through the field experiment. The experiment has adopted two methods. One is to examine pilot's objective fatigue accumulation rate through the critical fusion frequency, and another is to investigate pilot's subjective fatigue feeling through the fatigue subjective symptoms investigation table.

  • 장기간 동안 활하중의 반복재하로 인한 응력누적에 의해 발생하는 피로현상은 강교량의 내구수명을 지배하는 주요 인자중 하나이다. 본 논문은 차량 주행시 동적효과가 비교적 크게 일어나는 일반적인 중소규모의 플레이트 거더교를 대상으로 피로수명에 영향을 미치는 교통하중의 특성을 검토하였다. 검토결과, 피로수명은 시간교통량과 대형차 혼입율이 증가할수록 짧아지고, 교통하중특성의 영향을 받는다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 검토결과를 토대로 피로수명에 영향을 주는 교통하중의 특성을 대표할 수 있는 새로운 파라미터를 제시하고, 그 유용성을 확인하였다.

피로손상의 누적에 따른 강성변화를 고려한 점용접부의 진동피로해석 (Vibration Fatigue Analysis of Spot Welded Component considering Change of Stiffness due to Fatigue Damage)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 진동 피로해석 기법을 적용하여 다수의 용접점을 포함하고 있는 점용접 구조물의 강성변화를 고려하여 피로수명을 평가하는 것이다. 먼저 모재부 인장특성 및 점용접부의 인장 및 피로특성을 획득하였다. 유한요소법을 적용하여 S-N 선도를 획득하여 피로해석에 적용하였다. 주파수 응답해석을 수행하여 구조물의 전달함수를 획득하였고, 주파수영역에서 0.11의 PSD를 선정하여 수행하였다. 강성변화 및 고유진동수의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 점용접부의 총 6개 지점 중 최소수명이 발생하는 지점을 기준으로 1개씩 제거하여 반복 해석을 수행하였다. 따라서 강성이 낮아질수록 고유주파수도 낮아지는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 조건하에서 진동피로해석을 수행하여 피로손상의 누적에 따른 전달합수의 변화를 고려한 진동피로해석을 수행하였다.

Influence of non-Gaussian characteristics of wind load on fatigue damage of wind turbine

  • Based on translation models, both Gaussian and non-Gaussian wind fields are generated using spectral representation method for investigating the influence of non-Gaussian characteristics and directivity effect of wind load on fatigue damage of wind turbine. Using the blade aerodynamic model and multi-body dynamics, dynamic responses are calculated. Using linear damage accumulation theory and linear crack propagation theory, crack initiation life and crack propagation life are discussed with consideration of the joint probability density distribution of the wind direction and mean wind speed in detail. The result shows that non-Gaussian characteristics of wind load have less influence on fatigue life of wind turbine in the area with smaller annual mean wind speeds. Whereas, the influence becomes significant with the increase of the annual mean wind speed. When the annual mean wind speeds are 7 m/s and 9 m/s at hub height of 90 m, the crack initiation lives under softening non-Gaussian wind decrease by 10% compared with Gaussian wind fields or at higher hub height. The study indicates that the consideration of the influence of softening non-Gaussian characteristics of wind inflows can significantly decrease the fatigue life, and, if neglected, it can result in non-conservative fatigue life estimates for the areas with higher annual mean wind speeds.

Investigation of a new steel-concrete connection for composite bridges

  • A new type of connection for steel-concrete composite bridges was developed by the Steel Structures Laboratory of Ecole Poytechinque $F{\acute{e}}d{\acute{e}}rale$ de Lausanne. Resistance to longitudinal shear is based on the development of shear stresses in the confined interfaces which form the connection. Confinement is provided by the reinforced concrete slab which encloses the connection and restrains the uplift (lateral separation) of the interfaces by developing normal stresses. The experimental investigation of the interfaces, under static and cyclic loading, enabled the development of the laws describing the structural behaviour of each interface. Those laws were presented by the authors in previous papers. The current paper focuses on the continuity of the research. It presents the experimental investigation on the new connection by means of push-out tests on specimens submitted to static and cyclic shear loading. Investigation revealed that the damage in the connection, due to cyclic loading, is expressed by the accumulation of a residual slip. A safe fatigue failure criterion is proposed for the connection which enabled the verification of the connection for the fatigue limit state with respect to the limit of fatigue. A numerical model is developed which takes into account the laws describing the interface behaviour and the analytical expressions for the confinement effect, the latter obtained by performing finite element analysis. This numerical model predicts the shear resistance of the connection and enables to assess its fatigue limit which is necessary for the fatigue design proposed.

Experimental Method for Durability Evaluation of a Chisel Mounted on a Composite Working Implement

  • Purpose: A chisel mounted on working implement, such as agricultural machinery used in irregular farming conditions, is subjected to highly variable fatigue loading during work. To ensure the safety of the chisel on a working implement for the duration of its service life, fatigue testing must be performed with the proper fatigue test load conditions. In this study, working loads for a chisel were developed by reconstructing loads from strain gage data collected during field tests and used to conduct fatigue tests on the chisel component. Methods: FE analysis with nCode software was utilized to select the proper quantity and locations of strain gages for load measurements. A fatigue test was performed to experimentally verify the fatigue strength of the chisel and to evaluate the validity of the load history developed with the load reconstruction technique. Results: A strain history for the chisel was obtained from data collected during field tests. The data was filtered for the 14-16 km/h speed range, connected, and merged. The chisel load history was developed using the load reconstruction technique. The resulting load history was expressed as a load spectrum using the rain-flow counting method. Conclusions: A fatigue test was conducted on a chisel under a constant load condition with an equivalent load amplitude and number of cycles, as calculated by Miner's Rule for linear damage accumulation. During the fatigue test, there were no cracks at any position. It is concluded that the fatigue test method proposed in this study can be utilized successfully as a durability evaluation method for the chisel.
