고속 이산화탄소 유동장의 속도 및 밀도 동시 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Simultaneous Analysis of Velocity and Density Distributions for High-Speed $CO_{2}$ Flow)

  • Velocity and density distributions of a high-speed and initial $CO_{2}$ jet flow have been analyzed simultaneously by a developed three-dimensional digital speckle tomography and a particle image velocimetry(PIV). Three high-speed cameras have been used for tomography and PIV since a shape of a nozzle for the jet flow is asymmetric and the initial flow is fast and unsteady, The speckle movements between no flow and $CO_{2}$ jet flow have been obtained by a cross-correlation tracking method so that those distances can be transferred to deflection angles of laser rays for density gradients. The three-dimensional density fields for the high-speed $CO_{2}$ jet flow have been reconstructed from the deflection angles by a real-time tomography method and the two-dimensional velocity fields have been calculated by a PIV method simultaneously and instantaneously.

열간 압연 설비의 고장 예지를 위한 프레임워크 구축 (Framework Development for Fault Prediction in Hot Rolling Mill System)

  • This paper proposes a framework to predict the mechanical fault of hot rolling mill system (HRMS). The optimum process of HRMS is usually identified by the rotating velocity of working roll. Therefore, observing the velocity of working roll is relevant to early know the HRMS condition. In this paper, we propose the framework which consists of two methods namely spectrum matrix which related to case-based fast Fourier transform(FFT) analysis, and three dimensional condition monitoring based on novel visualization. Validation of the proposed method has been conducted using vibration data acquired from HRMS by accelerometer sensors. The acquired data was also tested by developed software referred as hot rolling mill facility analysis module. The result is plausible and promising, and the developed software will be enhanced to be capable in prediction of remaining useful life of HRMS.

Fast Garment Drape Simulation Using Geometrically Constrained Particle System

  • A simulation system for versatile garment drape has been developed. Using this system, the shape of a garment can be simulated in consideration of fabric physical properties as well as the interaction between fabrics and other objects. Each fabric piece in a garment is modeled using a geometrically constrained particle system and its behavior is calculated from an implicit numerical integration algorithm in a relatively short time. The system consists of three modules including a preprocessor for the preparation of fabric patterns and external objects, a postprocessor for the results of three-dimensional visualization, and a drape simulation engine. It can be used for the design process of textile goods, garments, furniture, or upholsteries.

  • The flow visualization is conducted in order to investigate an unsteady flight characteristic of a model dragonfly. The flapping wings are analyzed using smoke-wire and high speed camera. The results of this experiment show that three mechanisms and high incidence angle of the wings are responsible for the lift. The leading edge vortex, which is induced by the rapid acceleration of the wing at the beginning of a stroke, causes the lift enhancement. The delayed stall during the stroke and the fast supination and pronation of the wing near the end of each stroke are also responsible for the lift generation.

지역적 통계량을 이용한 고속 환경-광 가림 볼륨 가시화 (Fast Ambient Occlusion Volume Rendering using Local Statistics)

  • This study presents a new method to improve the speed of high quality volume rendering. We improve the speed of ambient occlusion which is one of the global illumination techniques used in traditional volume visualization. Calculating ambient occlusion takes much time because it determines an illumination value of a sample by integrating opacities of nearby samples. This study proposes an improved method for this by using local statistics such as averages and standard deviations. We calculate local statistics for each volume block, a set of nearby samples, in pre-processing time. In the rendering process, we efficiently determine the illumination value by assuming the density distribution as a normal distribution. As the results, we can generate high quality images that combine ambient occlusion illumination with local illumination in real time.

  • We improved a visualization system for a player's sequential forms called‘Multi-Motion’which has ever been used in NHK live broadcasting. It is to extract only the player's forms from background, and overlap them into one frame sequentially after fast performance for a vault game of gymnastics. It helps TV viewers understand the player's performing forms easily. We increased the performance of Multi-Motion by shortening the distance between the current frame and the reference frame, and the synthesis of the reference frame.

  • Using a mechano-luminescent(ML) paint, which allows the visualization of fast propagating crack under conventional loading conditions, a catastrophic fracture mechanism associated to crack tip melting and wake bridging in bulk metallic glass, is described in this paper. Fracture occurs in two steps with, first, crack initiation from the mechanically machined sharp notch tip in a rectangular shaped compact tension specimen and melting of its tip due to intense shear deformation within very few deformation bands. Then, the crystalline phase in the glass matrix gradually converts the molten crack into a conventional bridged crack as it propagates.

  • 본 연구에서는 음파전달의 가시화를 위해 고속 연산장치인 GPU(Graphics Processing Unit)를 이용하여 실시간 처리를 하였으며 이산 호이겐스 모델법을 사용하여 시뮬레이션 하였다. 실시간 처리와 2차원 가상 음장내의 반사물이나 음원의 상태를 변경하여 실재 음장과 같은 음파전달의 가시화를 하였다. 그 결과, 음파가 반사물에 의해 반사되는 형태나 반사물에서 회절하는 형태가 확인되었다.

  • The rapid increase in the usage of energy in the fast-changing industries has led to resource depletion and environmental conflicts. Many types of research are available on heat exchangers that undergo simple energy conversion processes. The impingement rods discussed in this study improves the durability of the heat exchanger and ensure the stability of the operation. However, it is uncertain about selecting the installation location of the impingement rods. The commercially available CFD code, ANSYS CFX, is used for the impingement rods installation.

단백질 가시화 형태에 따른 정보표현적합도 평가 (Evaluation of Information Representation Goodness-of-fit According to Protein Visualization Pattern)

  • 단백질 기능을 규명하는 단백질 구조 정보는 단백질 의약품의 약효를 증진시키고, 개발을 단축시키는데 큰 영향을 미친다. 따라서 단백질의 구조를 효과적으로 분석하기 위한 단백질 가시화에 대한 연구가 증가하고 있다. 하지만 단백질 가시화에 대한 연구가 단백질의 구조를 예측하거나 렌더링의 속도를 향상시키는 것을 중심으로 이뤄지고 있으며, 단백질 가시화 형태에 따른 정보 전달 효용성에 대한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구는 단백질 의약품에 대한 효율적인 정보 서비스의 사전 연구로써 단백질 1, 2차구조 혼합가시화 형태별 정보표현적합도를 분석하였다. 단백질 1, 2차구조 혼합가시화 형태는 대표적 가시화 서비스인 Chimera, PDB, Cn3D와 기존 가시화 서비스의 문제점을 개선한 단백질 1, 2차구조 혼합가시화 형태를 대상으로 하였다. 정보표현적합도를 구하기 위한 정보요인은 피험자 분석 결과를 바탕으로 단백질 1차구조, 아미노산 위치, 단백질 2차구조, 단백질 2차구조 비율정보로 구분하였으며, 피험자는 단백질 의약품 업계종사기간이 5년 이상인 전문가 집단을 대상으로 하였다. 그 결과 단백질 1, 2차구조 혼합가시화형태별 정보표현적합도에는 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 가시화 형태별 정보 전달 효용성에 차이가 있음을 입증할 수 있었다.
