Development and Characterization of High-Performance Acoustic Emission Sensors (음향방출 신호의 검출을 위한 공진형 및 광대역 센서 제작과 특성평가)

  • Three types of piezoelectric sensors to detect acoustic emission signals were developed and characterized. Epicentral displacement and velocity of a plate to have infinite boundary were calculated by convolution between a Green's function and a simulated source time function to show parabolic rising characteristic. The sensor calibration system set up was composed of a steel plate, a glass capillary, an indentor and a load cell indicator The transient elastic signals were detected by the sensors. The results were compared with the theoretical results and Fast Fourier Transformed. As the results, the sensor fabricated using a disk shape of a piezoelectric PZT element showed resonant characteristics. The sensors fabricated using a conical shape PZT element and a PVDF polymer film showed the wide band characteristics for particle displacement and velocity, respectively. The calculated results showed good agreements with the transient responses in the cases of the wide band sensors and it was confirmed that the simulated source time function had been properly assumed.

  • In this study, Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT), which can detect more correct QRS complex, approximated through impulse response for reducing complexity to suit real-time system during exercise. Also, rhythm information, which is Arrythmia, Bradycardia and Tachycardia, is provided through continuously monitoring QRS complex. Proposed algorithm is evaluated by computer simulation of ECG signal that is measured during exercise.

  • ESPI is a noncontact, nondestructive and relatively fast inspection method. For these reasons ESPI is being applied as a valuable tool in the nondestructive evaluation of structural components. Phase shifting ESPI is used more effectively than the traditional ESPI because spatial resolution of small object displacements are improved and numerical phase values are obtained for all pixels in the image. Consequently the quantitative measurement of deformation is possible. ESPI fringe patterns are contaminated with high levels of speckle noise. Therefore the phase image is to be smoothed to remove the noise and obtain a better signal-to-noise ratio. In this study, smoothing is done by phase shifting convolution to avoid smoothing errors close to the 2$\pi$ phase ambiguities in the deformation phase image, and median filter is used as a smoothing filter.

  • In this paper, active noise control is performed in a duct system using the periodic pulse train which corresponds to the periodic component of noise source as a reference signal. Control algorithm applied in this study is possible to eliminate the acoustic feedback which occurs in the conventional filtered-x and filtered-u LMS algorithm by using electrical reference signal and has the fast adaptation speed with low filter orders by using synchronous sampling method is discussed via computer simulations and experiments of case studies such as frequency modulation, amplitude modulation and frequency differency between source signal and reference signal.

  • This paper compares input shaping techniques for controlling residual vibration of flexible structures. Input shaping generates vibration-reducing shaped commands through convolution of an impulse sequence with the desired command. Both feedforward and feedback control approaches with/without input shaper for uncertain dynamical systems are investigated to evaluate the control performances. The control objective is to achieve a fast settling time and robustness to plant uncertainty, to eliminate residual vibrations. It is shown by a series of simulation that a properly designed feedback controller with input shaper performs well, as compared with open-loop controller with input shaper.

  • This computer simulation is the basic research for realize a real-time hardware of the reproduction system in original sound field with two loudspeakers based on the OSS(Ortho Stereophonic System) method which was proposed by Hamada of Japan in 1983. Through the computer simulation, presumed the system function of OSS equalizer using HRTF(Head Related Transfer Function), constructed the model of OSS equalizer and , evaluated the modelling OSS equalizer by evaluation formula. The obtained results are summarized as follows : 1) By the modelling OSS equalize operate as inverse filter of HRTF, an input signal reproduced effectively. 2) Known that the real-time hardware of OSS equalizer can be made by the fast convolution between the impulse response of OSS equalizer and input speech signal. 3) Since the system function of OSS equalizer presumed from HRTF, the study on the measuring of HRTF have to proceed.

  • This paper presents a method for Digital Image Motion Restoration by inverse filtering. In order to onstruct optimal Restoration filter, We exactly have to model the degradation process, and therefrom, derive the inverse filter which has inverse charateristics of the degradation model. An Image taken from object which moves fast, is o suffer blurring. it can be modeled by integration process mathematically and analyzed to convolve a rectangular window over an image. in this paper, We analyzed it in the frequency domain, and studied a method for motion restoration using inverse filter has a directional Sinc property.

  • 오늘날 하드웨어의 발전으로 인해 영상 해상도는 FHD를 넘어 4K UHD 이상의 영상 해상도가 사용화되고 있다. 하지만 Edge Map을 만들기 위해 일반적으로 사용하는 함수들은 Convolution 함수 일종으로서 영상의 해상도가 높을수록 더 많은 Complexity를 요구한다. 또한 현재 주요 영상 압축 기술인 JPEG, H.264/AVC High efficiency video coding(HEVC)같은 기법들은 자연 영상을 중점으로 개발되어 있어 Edge map 압축에 있어 자연 영상만큼의 효율을 보여주지 못하고 있다. 본 논문은 원 영상을 Down Scaling한 뒤 이미지를 다시 원래 사이즈로 Up Scaling하여 두 영상의 차를 이용한 Edge Map을 생성하는 새로운 방법을 소개한다. 생성된 Edge Map의 특성인 Histogram 값의 분포가 0을 중심으로 Gaussian 분포를 가지는 것을 이용한 Zero Based 코덱을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘을 이용하여 고 해상도 영상에서도 빠르게 Edge Map을 생성하고 제안한 코덱을 통해 해당 Edge map을 압축한 결과 다른 압축 기술보다 더 뛰어난 성능을 보여주었다.

  • Probabilistic Load Flow(PLF) solution based on the method of moments is used for security assessment of bus voltages in power systems. Bus voltages, line currents, line admittances, generated real and reactive power, and bus loads are treated as complex random variables. These complex random variables are known in terms of probability density functions(PDF). Also, expressions for the convolutions of complex random variables in terms of moments and cumulants have been derived. Proposed PLF solution using the method of moments is fast, because the process of convolution of various complex random variables is performed in moment and cumulant domain. Therefore, the method is applied to security assessment of power systems in this paper. Finally, system operator also can be used information of security assessment to improve reliability of power systems.

  • Due to the situation of the widespread of the coronavirus, which causes the problem of lack of face image data occluded by masks at recent time, in order to solve the related problems, this paper proposes a method to generate face images with masks using a combination of generative adversarial networks and spatial transformation networks based on CNN model. The system we proposed in this paper is based on the GAN, combined with multi-scale convolution kernels to extract features at different details of the human face images, and used Wasserstein divergence as the measure of the distance between real samples and synthetic samples in order to optimize Generator performance. Experiments show that the proposed method can effectively put masks on face images with high efficiency and fast reaction time and the synthesized human face images are pretty natural and real.
