맥시멀리즘 특징을 이용한 패션디자인의 표현성 연구 (The Expression of Fashion Design Using a Maximalism Character)

  • Maximalism is the code which has a power to interpret a fashion phenomenon expressed complexly and variously in the multicultural society. In the 21st century, maximalism which reappeared is not the expression by a method only. It is presenting the experimental design for the new pursuit through the mixture such as expansion, splendor, variety, decoration, distortion of configuration or transformation, and composition. Therefore, this study aims at analyzing expression of fashion design by four types(expansion, decoration, mixture, non-structure) materializing a feature of maximalism expressed in the domestic and foreign collection works from 2005 to 2010. The research results are as follows. 1. Expansion: It was showed artificial, formative, unique, and odd teatures through the expansion of the upper half of the body, the lower half of the body, and both of them. 2. Decoration: It was showed the actual decoration considering functionality and practicality and the decoration emphasizing and unique character and featuring domination and emphasis. 3. Mixture: It was showed through the mixture of the contrary textiles or the different sex image. 4. Non-structure: It showed the non-structure of the avant-garde trend and non-structure through decoration, detail, adjustment direction of a dress.

매직미러의 토털 패션 코디네이션을 위한 RFID 칩의 데이터베이스 제안 (A Proposal for RFID Chip Database of Magic Mirror's Total Fashion Coordination)

  • The Realization of Ubiquitous is achieved by magic mirror and it is required more concrete study to realize it's functionality. Especially its function of professional fashion co-ordinator for managing the appearance could be of further use. The Objective of this Study is to establish RFID chip data base to put into a computer for making use of the functionality of the magic mirror aiming at suggesting the available information on the total fashion co-ordination. I sought firstly the code with binary system determining the criteria of accessories to be input in a RFID chip. Secondly, as the image with cloth is an important element for the total fashion co-ordination, desired co-ordination among the emphasis, harmony, character, season and accent can be made selectable classifying into a limit element and a common element to extract the codes. Thirdly, necessary conditions were given to the generated codes using Visual C++ program of Microsoft and the extracted codes as per groups were compared and analyzed.

하위문화 맥락에서 본 패션스타일 연구 (Study on the Styles of Subcultural Clothing: from 1930s to 1990s)

  • This is a study that examines the fashion changes in the 20th century in terms of various subcultures in the period. Starting from defining the concept and the developing process of subculture, this study traces the history of subcultural styles from 1930s to 1990s, focusing on the way each generation resisted the main stream through its styles. This study is intended to provide a theoretical frame on the understanding of subcultural styles, with a close examination of its formative and developing process and characteristics. This study understands subcultural style as a way of deviate or resistant expression within a society. It differentiates itself from the main style by deliberately and publicly asserting its own identity, and, as a result, realizes in the form of fashion its repressed subconsciousness, resistance to the alienation from the society, and deviation from the normative ethics and morality of a society. The four types of subcultural styles presented in chapter 4 are based on their form of resistance, and they are classified and analyzed as follows: The first type is revision, which tries to revise and change the given form by adding new elements. There are two kinds of revision, one is dressing up, which dresses for success, and the other is minimal dressing. Hyperbole is the second type, which resists by emphasizing or hyperbolizing the main stream with its erotic, nihilistic, or dynamic forms. Two kinds of hyperbole are examined, one is hyperbole of masculinity, and the other is ostentatious hyperbole. The third type is reversal and rejection, which reverses the forms from the established sign system into its own secret code, or rejects the traditional taboos. This type include no dressing, and the reversal of sex identity. Isolation and redrawal is the fourth type, which tries to distance itself from the ritual code of the day. This type is divided into dressing of the escape from time, and dressing of the escape from space. The first group of this type is characterized by nostalgia or futurism. An emphasis is given on ethnicity, naturalism, or a closed space within a city in dressing of the escape from space. In conclusion, it can be said that subcultural style puts the foremost importance on individual freedom. Since 1990s, the distinction between the subcultural styles and high fashion gets somewhat blurred, while the liberal, sexual, life stylistic tension between the two groups are heightened.

에스닉 테마를 주제로 한 유행경향 예측에 관한 연구-‘97 F/W 로스엔젤레스 시장을 중심으로- (A Study on Trend Forecasting of the Ethnic Theme-Concentrating on Los Angels Market in '97 F/W-)

  • 본 연구는 Los Angels 중심의 서부지역 시장을 중심으로 에스닉 테마의 유행정보를 시장조사를 통해 예측한 연구이다. 연구의 진행은 먼저 에스닉 테마의 출현 배경을 고찰하고 전문점과 백화점 그리고 hadquarter의 현황을 조사한 수, Zip code를 통한 소비자의 라이프 스타일의 분석을 통하여 시장에 적합한 패션경향을 제시하였다. 연구의 요약은 다음과 같다. 1997년 가을.겨울 소매 상가들에서 두드러진 경향은 에스닉이다. 이는 복잡한 현대 생활에 대한 반동으로서 기본 생활의 단순성, 자연에 대한 올바른 평가로 되돌아가는 것을 상징한다. 이런 에스닉한 민속 디자인들의 전형은 자연의상, 원시예술, 동족문화와 아프리카 테마주변에서 확인된다. 이런 에스닉 패션을 요약하자면 단순성, 자연성, 편리성, 자유로 나타내진다. 한편 이런 경향의 hadquarter라 할 수 있는 Broadway와 Robinsons-May와 같은 일반 백화점에의 기준은 다양한 스타일로 다양한 고객들을 충족시켜야 하는 것이다. Broadway의 에스닉 성향의 상품은 아직 도입단계로 정상에 오르지 못한 상태이다. 이 상품의 판매를 높이려면 VMD를 통한 판매 홍보와 다양한 에스닉 성향의 상품제시, 노력이 필요하다. 이 밖에 대표적인 상가 중심지인 Beverly Center Broadway의 고객을 분석했을 때 이 상품을 살만한 고객은 25-34세와 35-44세의 나이 분포를 지닌 대부분의 전문 직종의 젊은층과 사회적 지위를 성취하고자 하는 이들이었다. 이들의 라이프 스타일은 직업 지향의 활동들, 유행에 뒤지지 않은 복장, 모든 면에서 세련된 생활을 강조한다. 이 중 특히 중요한 것이 있다면 이미지이다. 그들은 남과 구분되는 개성을 원한다. 이미지들은 이국적인 것에서부터 단순함, 순박함과 섹시함에 이르기까지 다양하다. 따라서 이상의 시장조사를 통한 소비자의 요구를 충족시킨 유행경향 제시는 패션시장에서 그 무한한 가능성을 창출하도록 할 것이다.

Walter Van Beirendonck 디자인에 나타난 미학 (Design Aesthetics of Walter Van Beirendonck)

  • Walter Van Beirendonck expresses a fairy tale world of perverted sexual desire of sadism and masochism, violence, and aggressiveness that breaks from a transient one-time concept as is an essential element of fashion. This study classifies the aesthetic characteristic shown on the design of Walter Van Beirendonck and analyzes the intent of his symbolism and meaning. The attempt has a meaning in exploring a new directionality of fashion by conveying a critical message to this end, contemporary fashion breaks down boundaries with artistic genre and connects a problematic consciousness that exists in life with fashion. The results of study on the aesthetic characteristics of Walter Van Beirendonck are as follows. First, Beirendonck emphasized an interpersonal image about body by giving a question through the deconstruction of image on a perfect body into race, age, and body based on body modification. Second, fetishism appeared as a consciousness that human identity and character can be changed by connecting a fetish element of sexual identity, and sadism and masochism with fashion's imagination. Third, infantilism as an amusement expression of the form metaphorically satirized life of modern people. Fourth, makeup shown on performance or festival of an African tribe was used in the way of mixture or reuse for ethnography to obtain inspiration from ethnography. Fifth, pop art combined a popular culture code as amusement through mass production and mass media. Aesthetics of Beirendonck do not have norm and are bold in using form, color, pattern, print, and styling because Beirendonck reinterpreted critical attitudes about essential problems that human life entails into a motif of his symbolic meaning in amusement. In regards to his design aesthetics, Beirendonck expanded fashion to the scope of Gesamtkunstwerk in a consistent and continued theme combined with philosophical creativity and differentiated from other fashion designers.

패션에 표현된 뉴트로(New-tro)현상에 대한 연구 - 뮤직비디오 의상스타일을 중심으로 - (A study on the phenomenon of new-tro expressed in fashion - Focus on music video costume style -)

  • The purpose of this study, I investigate the new trend, 'new-tro', through the music video costumes of young generations, and analyze the meaning and characteristics of 'new-tro'. The research method is, select 30 music video with new-tro fashion style on the music sites, and the fashion styles were analyzed in 11 music videos checked and selected by 100 students. As a definition of the term, 'retro' refers to a phenomenon in which the past reappears in modern time, and 'new-tro' is a new retro trend, a social phenomenon that enjoys the old with a modern sense, and is a compound word of 'new' and 'retro'. 'new-tro' is a modern reinterpretation and rebirth of the past style, and 'fu-tro' is a style of coexistence between the past and the future. In the music video, fashion is a media language and cultural code, and it creates trend or new fashion, that communicates with the public, stimulating emotions. As a result of the research, the common trend phenomenon expressed in the music video costume of 'new-tro' trend which appeared in 2000s is as follows. 1. New-tro style starts with items that were famous in the past. 2. It is one of postmodern marketing using color, print and logo. 3. It spreads quickly by the influence of culture that is characteristic of the Internet and SNS world. 4. It is bottom up propagation phenomenon of street fashion. 5. It is a time game where modern people connect the past with the present. 6. "new-tro" continues to evolve for that time, based on 'retro'. New-tro, an evolutionary version of the 21st century retro wave. and it is a key to marketing effectiveness as a sympathetic elements of 1020 generations with the reproduction of memories.

EWLD 알고리듬을 이용한 코드열 정합 프로세서의 설계 (The Design of a Code-String Matching Processor using an EWLD Algorithm)

  • In this paper we propose an EWLD(Enhanced Weighted Levenshtein Distance) algorithm to organize code-string pattern matching linear array processor based on the mappting to an one-dimensional array from a two-dimensional matching matrix, and design a processing element(PE) of the processor, N PEs are required instead of NS02T in the processor because of the mapping. Data input and output between PEs and all internal operations of each PE are performed in bit-serial fashion. The bit-serial operation consists of the computing of word distance (WD) by comparison and the selection of optimal code transformation path, and takes 22 clocks as a cycle. The layout of a PE is designed based on the double metal $1.5\mu$m CMOS rule. About 1,800 transistors consistute a processing element and 2 PEs are integrated on a 3mm$\times$3mm sized chip.

옷차림에 영향을 미치는 디자인 특성 연구 - 성인여성의 외출복을 중심으로 - (A Study on Design Properties Affecting in Wearing - Focused on Adult Women's Town Wear -)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate design properties affecting in evaluated image by adult women's town wear in un-limited circumstance. The stimulus, adult women's town wear, were collected from shopping mall, department stores and churches and evaluated by 20's 150 people. Through the estimations, the 76 pictures of 'good image' and 65 pictures of 'bad image', were selected and analyzed by classification categories. The results were as follows : 1) 'Good Image' is classified 6 groups which are like active casual, feminine casual, adult casual, modern, sporty casual, and elegance. 2) "Bad Image' is classified 5 groups which are like easy casual, active casual, soft casual, modern casual, and feminine casual. 3) Central code of adult women's town wear from 'Good Image' are simple, bright, and harmony and 'Bad Image' are complicate, heavy, and inharmony. The coordination, how to wear, is very important to evaluate image of women's town wear with other properties. Also, body shape appeared by important variable in evaluation.

홀로그래픽 데이터 저장장치에서의 멀티레벨 변조부호 (Multilevel Modulation Codes for Holographic Data Storage)

  • 멀티레벨 홀로그래픽 데이터 저장장치는 한 픽셀에 1비트 이상을 저장할 수 있기 때문에 용량에 대한 큰 장점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 (1) 레벨의 수, (2) 코드워드 내에서 픽셀의 수, (3) 최소 유클리디안 거리에 따른 코드워드들의 개수를 보여준다. 픽셀당 레벨의 수의 증가는 용량을 증가시키지만 노이즈 마진이 감소함에 따라 많은 에러를 발생시킨다. 코드워드에서 픽셀개수의 증가는 코드율을 증가시키며 용량을 늘리지만, 코드의 인코더와 디코더의 복잡도를 증가시킨다. 코드의 최소 거리 증가는 검출 에러를 줄이지만 코드율을 감소시킨다. 위와 같이 시스템 디자인은 항상 장 단점을 가지고 있지만, 시스템의 요구사항을 위해 주어진 상황에서 효과적인 방법을 찾아야 한다. 그러므로 본 논문에서 조사된 코드워드의 수는 효과적인 코드 디자인을 위한 가이드라인을 제시한다.

하위문화에 나타난 대중음악과 패션의 기호적 해석 (A semiological analysis on the relationship between popular music and fashion style exposed in Subculture)

  • 현시대의 사회 문화적 기호로 대표되는 것 가운데 하나가 패션이다. 이는 패션이 전달하는 스타일이 단순한 양식이나 유행의 개념에 그치지 않고 일종의 소통의 코드이며 그 자체로서 하나의 미디어로서 기능하기 때문이다. 음악은 항상 패션에 자신의 힘을 과시해 왔고 패션 역시 음악에 영향력을 발휘하고 있다. 패션은 시각을 음악은 소리를 통해 세계에 대한 우리의 이미지를 표현하는 방식으로 패션과 음악은 뗄 수 없는 불가분의 관계를 가지고 있다. 또한 패션과 음악은 모두 사회상을 투영하는 동시에 사회군화 전반에 걸쳐 영향을 주고있는데 음악이 새로이 변화할 때마다 항상 새로운 청년문화가 창출되어 왔으며 이 문화들은 뚜렷한 패션 경향을 이루며 확산되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 하위문화 집단에서 그들만의 정체성과 의식을 표현하기 위해 사용되는 패션 스타일과 음악 유형들 간의 관련성을 기호적 관점에서 분석함으로써 청년문화 저변에 자리잡고 있는 대중 음악과 패션 스타일의 관련성을 규명하였다. 이와 같이 하위문화는 자신의 삶의 조건이 강제하는 모순으로부터 도피하거나 이를 해결하는 가장 중요한 기제로써 표상행위가 되고 그들 스스로 독특한 음악 스타일이나 의복 스타일을 개발하여 상징적 저항의 기의를 표출하고 있었다. 결론적으로 하위문화에 있어서 대중음악과 패션스타일과의 관계는 내면의 가치를 기호화한 상동성으로 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있다.
