As light source, halogen lamp was most frequently used, followed by fluorescent lamp and incandescence lamp. In the actual illumination, however, a combined use of more than 2 light sources was common. Further, a local illumination method, e.g., spot light, was generally adopted. The thought of employers and employees in fashion shops about display and illumination was examined aw well. • This study is to suggest a visualization technique to display the relations of associated data in an optimal way when trying to display the whole data on a limited space by dealing with a large amount of data with linked information. For example, if you track an IP address through several steps and display the data on a screen, or if you visualize the human gene information on a 3-dimensional space, then it becomes even easier to understand the data flow in such cases. In order to simulate the technique given in this study, the given algorithm was applied to a large number of nodes made in a random fashion to optimize the data and we visually observed the result. According to the result, the technique given in this study is more efficient than any previous method in terms of visualization and utilizing space and allows to more easily understand the whole structure of a node because it consists of sub-groups.

  • The purpose of this study is to come up with a perspective that can enhance the understanding about the mechanism of fashion change. The starting idea of this study is that fashion has changed according to the ideal body image of the specific society or individual. The theoretical framework about the ideal body image has been studied by the literatures on the subject and it is verified by the analysis of John Galliano & Martin Margiela's fashion works. The results are as follows. First, Galliano exposes the woman's body as a sexual symbol which is articulated by men's eyes. Margiela describes the woman's body as human being which doesn't highlight any sexual characteristics. Second, Galliano emphasizes the body conscious silhouette whereas Margiela perceives the body as a whole, rather than looks into each body part. Third, Galliano uses lots of decoration to make display luxurious. Margiela restrains himself from using decorations and tries to create images by interaction between the clothes and bodies. Forth, Galliano expresses the eroticism by accentuating eyes and lips with strong color cosmetics. Margiela's fashion is not dazzling with makeup. He even covers the face with fabrics. Aesthetics in all societies is articulated by their hidden social power groups, and then it has influence on taking shape of the ideal body image and the mainstream of fashion. But the innate characters of individuals offer challenges to the fashion majority. The tension between the social power and individual character makes and changes the fashion.

  • Focusing on the communication effects of fast fashion visual merchandising (VM), this paper examines the effects of a fast fashion store's VM attributes on consumer's perceptions of store image towards newness and prestige that influence the time spent at stores as well as the frequency of visits. This study was conducted by collecting data online using males and females in their twenties to forties; subsequently, a total of 382 samples were analyzed. The VM communication effect model utilized in fast fashion stores was developed and tested on structural equation modeling. The findings of the study were as follows. First, the show window presentation and ancillary facilities of VM elements have a positive effect on the perception of newness, while merchandise display, layout, and signage have a positive influence on the perception of prestige. Therefore, the VM elements in the fast fashion stores that affect the perception of newness and prestige are unique. Second, the perceptions of newness and prestige have a positive impact on time spent in fast fashion stores; however, only the perception of store's newness has a significant effect on the frequency of visits. Third, show window presentation and facilities are VM elements that directly influence the time spent and frequency of visits. Finally, we confirm that store image partially mediate between VM elements and shopping behavior at a fast fashion store.

  • This research not only determined the preference of fashion brand distribution channels of active Korean and Chinese seniors who became major consumers in the fashion industry, but also analyzed the effect on these preferences and choices of distribution channels depending on personal consumption characteristics and differences between the two groups. Data was collected by a professional survey firm. SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0 were used for empirical analysis, and frequency analysis, multiple response analysis, EFA, reliability analysis, CFA, SEM, and multiple-group comparison analysis were performed. As a result of multiple response analysis, the offline channel was revealed as the preferred fashion distribution channel for active Korean and Chinese seniors; the second most popular was the online channel. The results of multiple-group comparison analysis reveal differences between two groups in seeking emotional consumption via the offline channel; the effect was only evident for active Korean seniors. A difference in seeking emotional consumption via preference for online channel also existed, but only for active Chinese seniors. For these reasons, marketers targeting active Korean seniors will be effective to not only offer brand information by fashion display to let seniors understand the fashion brand, but also to have brand events to form positive emotions toward the fashion brand. Moreover, targeting active Chinese seniors will be necessary to transmit brand sensibility by utilizing metaverse marketing comprising various factors, so that consumers can enjoy the fashion brand.
