  • In this presentation, the methods that is appropriate to remediate the farmland contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbon was considered using the case histories of the abroad. As a result of a consideration, most remediation procedures were based risk assessment and management, risk-based procedure. It is also useful to use natural attenuation mechanism to remediate petroleum-contaminated sites. However, more research efforts are demanded for developing a cost-effective and efficient technologies.

  • Xinjiang locates on the Middle Eurasia. Droaght features Xinjiang's climate , especially during the spring sowing season. Therefore, efficiency irrigation system is indispensable to Xinjiang farming. Furrow orborder irrigation system has replaced flooding irrigation. In farmland , new irrigation methods have been developed and introduced to more fields. This article introduce tow sowing machines for new irrigation methods. (1) Furrow or border grain drill : (2) On-firm irrigation drill.

  • DPRK have been encountered serious food problems in recent years, because of lack of availabilility of supplies, unfavorable weather conditions and above all lack of production incentives for farmers. Self-management is one of the method of increasing production incentives for farmers. For the well established self-management program, DPRK have to distribute farmland to farmers, not property rights but utilization rights. However farming situations are different, the distribution methods will be different according to the farming situations.

  • Agricultural corporations have been introduced to increase the productivity of farming via entrepreneurial farm management. There are two main subgroups of agricultural corporations. One is composed of farming association corporations and the other consists of agricultural corporation companies. Major tax incentives for agricultural corporations are as follows: 1. Exemption of corporate income tax. 2. Exemption of capital gains tax for farmland investment. 3. Reduction and exemption of dividend income tax for investors.

  • The Saemangeum project, which began in 1991, is designed to convert about 120 million pyeong of mud flats into farmland and a reservoir by building a 33-kilometer seawall off the coast. Many scientists and specialists will continue to monitor and study the effects of the damming up and how it will affect the ocean environment. The long-term plans and visions for development of Saemangeum are needed.

  • In this case, Grant's Zebra which had been bred and exhibited in Farmland Zoological Garden for 4 years, died after treated dystocia. Result in autopsy, she had large hepatic abscess, and blood chemistry were increased G07, GPT and total billirubin. The microbiological culture with the hepatic abscess idetified the Streptococcus equi. It is diagnosed of hepatic abscess which was caused by Streptococcus equi infection.
