This study intends to develop a computer software for an efficient swineherd production and management. Current softwares are concerned on the sow management and ignore the actual farm environment. This study focuses on the farm environment in developing the software and covers the production management financial management, marketing management, and business planning for swineherd farm. The FSR(Farming Systems Research) analysis and interview survey aye applied to collect the data for the system planning, farmer's demand and analysis on the system, system design and program development. The systems are designed to meet the needs for the progressive swineherd farmers. Visual FoxPro 5.1 is used to develop the system. The developed system includes pig farm financial records keeping and management, pig farm production management program, pig farm marketing management program, and pig farm business diagnosis and planning program to meet the scope of the study. The weekly maintenance records and financial records are adopted for the input interface since most of farmers use their computer less than 5 hours a week. Pulldown Menu systems are adopted and designed for easy use by structuring to meet the pig farm and system demands. The manu system allocates the input-output screen based on the sectors, scopes, users, frequencies, importances, and the usages of the information. The GUI(Graphic User Interface) method is used to develop input-output screens for easy use. Backward Chaining mechanism fo the Expert System is used in the diagnosis of the pig farm management and the Systems Simulators Approach is used in the pig farm management planning.

The Strong Small Farm (SSF) is small farm, but strong farm so that the SSF competes with farm of the world. Also, SSF means that farmer brings about management innovation through improvements of continuous competence and individual efforts. Ultimate goals of SSF are to improve competence of farm household by 20 percent and to increase farm household income by 10 percent. The purpose of this paper is to examine the factors affecting the improvement of competence of the Strong Small Farm. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows. First, the results indicated that competence of farm household was improved by 8.5 percent. Second, the findings showed that management plan report, implement report, precision management consulting and whether or not he or she was urban to rural returner had a significant impact on improvement of competence.

The purpose of this study is to develop a farm management diagnostic checklist form, which can be applied to any crops. First, upper indexes and subordinate indexes were identified through survey with expert, and weighted values for each subordinate index were calculated through AHP analysis. Second, as a reuslt of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis, marketing management (0.276) was found to be the most important index of all upper indexes. In the case of subordinate indexes, reflecting management evaluation (0.252) of management consciousness, quality enhancement efforts (0.332) of production management, locating new sales outlets (0.323) of marketing management, agriculture accounting (0.300) of finance management, and adjusting shipping dates (0.274) of risk management were found to be the highest. Third, the interval division using weight of farm receiving prices was higher discrimination in comparison to equal interval division of weighted values for each index. The newly developed farm management diagnostic checklist can be applied to any crops, as it utilizes indexes such as management consciousness, production management, marketing management, financial management, risk management, etc. based on professional opinions. In addition, it allows an objective evaluation of farm management situations by utilizing the weighted value of farm receiving prices.

The purpose of this study is a classification of farm typology and an analysis of characteristic e-commerce type of farm enterprises. The classification of sample farm enterprises thus results in six distinctively agribusiness type. The six identified types can be characteristic as follows: production type, processing type and distribution type, e-commerce type, export-agricultural type, amenity-tourism type. This article attempted to come up with workable strategies to solve these problems affecting e-commerce type farm enterprises. The main results this paper are as follows: 1) to make organization of e-commerce type farm enterprises to accomplish business goals 2) to find out solution for urgent problems and subjects of farm management 3) to practice profitable business model for e-commerce type. E-commerce type farm enterprises needs are not only technology transference but also farm management.

The political and technological countermeasures to cope with the UR problems are under studying at present or some of them are already applied to increas farm household income. It is evident that the leisture farm development is considered the best alternative among the countermeasures. On account of mitigating labour shortage, a most difficult problem encountered by agriculture, and of promoting consumption of farm products, the leisure farm development could increase farm household incomes accoringly. This study is ultimately aimed at identifing the countermeasures to increase farm household incomes by suggestion of the improvement of leisure farm management thorough survey of the present leisure farm management status. The leisure farm. management survey was carried out based on the seven leisure farms such as Songnam, Cheongrock, Yusung, Duryong, Hwachun, Maesan and Sinhuck which are saperately located in Chungnam Province.

The consulting industry had enjoyed growth rates over the past 20 years which show no signs of slowing in their momentum. Since 1995, it began to discuss institutionalization of consulting in the agricultural sector in Korea. Rural Development Adminstration has launched farm management consulting project by means of benchmarking for farming innovation in 1988, which consists of establishing consulting team, developing standard diagnosis form of sixty crops and materials, training consultants, having various public relations, and making information systems. Until October, 2001, sixty seven thousands of farmers have benefited on this project. It is now appreciated as a alternative for new agricultural extension approach. Analyzing the changes of farm management practice level through consulting shows improvement, which data have been stored in web database. It is expected that farm management consulting project be main stream of agricultural extension in this country.

This study investigates the reports about financial management and financial information needs in farm household, to development financial education program for farm household. The results were as follows: 1) Financial management was carried of husband (49%), husband and wife (31.0%) and wife (15.2%) 2) Farm households demand of financial information was selling for farm products(66.5%), farm management(65.1), keeping budget(52.6%) and consumer information(42.6%). 3) The variables (sex, age, Education, farming type) have statistically significant on test of financial knowledge. 4) On the basis of results, for the stabilization of rural economy it is necessary to maximize and stabilize the rural house hold income however, it is also necessary to educate the rural people by providing the ways and means to efficiently manage the income. Thus various financial management programs and educational resources should be developed and provided to the agriculture household finance managers and the instructors in Agricultural Technology Development Center. Specially, according to the financial knowledge test as the demand of financial information in the group of respondents who answered ‘don’t know’ is higher than the demand in the group of right or wrong answers it is quite urgent to develop and provide the financial education programs and financial resources for these people.

Farm management consulting is recently widely recognized as farm business becomes more commercial. For better consulting practice, this paper analyzes current status of consulting practice and then suggests few strategies for consulting practice. Firstly, basic farm managements consulting should be strengthen, which have been done by technological center in local governments. Secondly, farm management consulting institutions must be specialized, in terms of role for each institution. Thirdly, we should train and produce more consultants specialized in field needs. Finally, aftermath program have to be developed for estimating consulting benefits.

This study aims to examine the needs analysis for agricultural management capabilities and farming practices that were emphasized by focusing to the inflow of farmers and the importance of the smooth succession. Data were collected from 134 farm successors. The Borich demand and the Locus for Focus model were hired for the study. Result were as follows. The competency group that the farm successors showed a high educational needs for was financial management. As for the detailed competencies that farm successors showed high educational needs for, based on Borich demand and the Locus for Focus model, the six detailed competencies of financial measures, financial analysis, financial management, sales planning, machine operation, and pest management were common and were derived as priorities. As for the direction of farming practice education for farm successors, based on these analysis results, education on machinery operation in the production sector should be expanded, and the management sector, more systematic and diverse education should be prepared to strengthen financial management capabilities.

The Farm Revival Program of the Farm Land Bank, implemented in 2006, initiated as the Agricultural Land Bank's business proposal to achieve efficient usage of farm land. Also, expansion of Farm Revival Program will bring positive effects when considering the fact that Farm Revival Program contributes to farm liability issues and management improvements. However, despite the importance of Farm Revival Program, searching for improvement methods through a rural demand survey is very insufficient. The following research limits the target to farms that applied for the management redemption project within Gangwon Province and examined the application motivation, project satisfaction, and demands of the farms. This research holds value as a fundamental data which reflects the demands of farms to better manage Farm Land Purchasing of the Farm Land Bank.
