Hepatitis B virus (HBV)is a member of the Hepadna virus family whose members share a characteristic virion structure and genome size, around 3.2kb in a paritially double-stranded form. The genome of HBV contains four overlapping open reading frames designated as P(polymerase). C(core), S(surface antigen)and X. The X gene has potential to encode 154 amino acids protein.

This study was conducted to find out the relationship among several variables such as health status, self-efficacy, health related hardiness, family support and pain in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The subjects were 108 patients with rheumatoid arthritis who visited the out patient department of Rheumatism at E university hospital in Teajon. Data were collected by questionnaire from November 26, 1999 to January 14, 2000. The instrument used in this study were health status developed by Bae et al(1998), self-efficacy scale developed by KRHPS, health related hardiness modified by Suh(1988), family support scale developed by Kang(1984), Pain with graphic rating scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, multiple regression using the SPSS Win program. The results were as follows; 1. There were no statistically significant differences between general characteristics and variables such as health status, self-efficacy, health related hardiness and family support respectively. 2. Statistically significant differences were not found between clinical characteristic and variables such as health status, self-efficacy, health related hardiness and family support respectively. 3. Significant correlations were found between health status and self-efficacy, self-efficacy and hardiness, hardiness and family support, health status and pain, self-efficacy and pain respectively(p<0.01), and health status and hardiness, self-efficacy and family support, hardiness and pain respectively(p<0.05). 4. Self-efficacy and pain were significant affecting factors of a health status. In these results, it is suggested that nursing intervention to increase self-efficacy and to reduce pain was very important for patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

This study was conducted to test the validity of characteristics of family nursing phenomena in Korea identified in a previous study by Yoon, S. Y, et al. (1999). Data for this study were collected from 355 (first measurement 186, second measurement 169) nurses whose family nursing careers were more than one year using a cross sectional survey method. The distribution per one characteristic ranged between 0 to 5. The phenomena that had two or more characteristics and had a score of 3.0 points or more included disturbance in marital role', 'disturbance in family communication', 'inappropriate family coping', 'lack of family intimacy', 'unhealthy life style', 'deficit of financial management skill and support', 'inadequate care management sick member', and' inadequate home-making'. The essential characteristics of the 8 phenomena presented above included 27 items. Further studies on family nursing phenomena in Korea are needed to support the evidence through surveys of families in the field. A reconfirmation study, as well as qualitative research on the low validity of the characteristics, needs to be more performed in the future.

Purpose. This study was conducted to provide basic data for decrease campus life stress investigated survey on the socio-demographic characteristic and campus life stress of the dental hygiene students. Methods. The research subjects are the total 220 and it was analyzed with structured questionnaires. The collected data was analyzed by IBM SPSS ver. 20.0, a statistical program (IBM Co., Armonk, NY, USA) for the frequency and percentage, ANOVA, Regression. The result is as following Results. The campus life stress was statistically significant differences by in case of poor family reason (${\beta}$=0.287), the fourth grader(${\beta}$=0.151), pocket money a month(${\beta}$=-0.136). Conclusions. As the results of the reasearch, it is necessary support and expansion plan with systemized cooperation between the government and school to state scholarship, living expenses and worker's scholarship for decrease the campus life stress.

Taguchi's robust design methodology has focused only on a single performance characteristic or response, but the quality of most products is seldom defined by a characteristic, and is rather the composite of a family of characteristics which are often interrelated and nearly always measured in a variety of units. The multiple performance characteristics problem is how to compromise the conflicts among the selected levels of the design parameters for each individual performance characteristic. In this paper, the modified desirability function using SN ratio which can be optimized by univariate technique is proposed and a parameter design procedure to achieve the best balance among several different response variables is developed We reanalyze two existing case studies by the proposed method and compare these results with ones by the sum of SN ratios and the expected weighted loss.

According to the dramatical changes from individual trip to the family and couple trip in 1990 caused by both economic growth, rising the level of people's income, and change of social structure such as the increasing time due to the fact of automatic system, and social trends to use this time for their leisure time, this trend influences on the cruise. recently, required for accommodating room to family, the cruise decorated with luxurious things becomes the center of public attention. This study should be a foundation works for developing domestic cruise in near future through surveying a floor plan (plan of room and deck), picture of room, characteristic of space, finish material and interior spatial organization factor & characteristic and analyzing them.

As the provision of National Rental Housing has led the consciousness on rental housing changed, it becomes more necessary to improve the quality of rental housing. The purpose of this study is to analyze the inner space use of a unit and residents' consciousness on the results of surveying the residents in order to construct rental housing which provides comfort residental environment for the residents. Data was collected through questionnaire surveys(459 residents) from 5 estates including 3 estates of National Rental Housing and 2 estates of Public Rental Housing, which is $36m^{2}\;and\;45m^{2}$ of net area of a unit, for the actual use conditions and their requirements on the inner space of a unit. The results are as follows ; 1) The rental housing differentiated according to the needs from the residents' characteristics should be developed. 2) The main demand household for rental housing is established to that of 4 families including a 40s year-old couple and that of 3 or 4 families including a 30s year-old couple, and a double income family. But the type of household becomes more diverse than before. 3) It is necessary to plan the living room for the Multi-functional inner space emphasizing commom space 4) The various and efficient storage space and system for the residents' demands.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the determinants of life satisfaction and social support among the elderly. For this purpose, a set of characteristic factors that are supposed to affect elderly life satisfaction were suggested and empirically analyzed. To achieve this study used final analysis with 470 questionnaires which did a questionnaire survey after gathering purposeful sampling method of 500 person who were visiting on Senior Club and Senior Welfare Center. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS statistical program. The methods of analysis were frequency, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, characteristic factors such as the family relation, health and economic of the elderly have significant impacts on their life satisfaction. Secondly, it was seen that social support regulated the effects of family relation and economic on characteristic factors. The implications of this study are, above all, to build a human network for training, education and social support for career development while participating in the labor market. Such activities could lead to social support for economic independence in old age.

This study divided all cooking-related employees into hotel organization and family restaurant organization, and analyzed the present duties´ characteristics along with an analysis on population statistics. Also, the study examined each employee´s recognition degree of his/her duty in each group and investigated which knowledge and skill they thought as important parts for their developing ability and attaining duties in the future. The collected data tell the followings; with respect to the characteristics of the employees´ duties, the characteristics of hotel employees were different from those of family restaurant employees; in case of hotel employees, the characteristic items recognized at a high level were the importance of duty, independence, self-reliance, the knowledge degree, career, controlling-ship, and development-ship. On the contrary, in case of family restaurant employees, the highly recognized items were complexity of duty, stagnation-ship, and human relationship. Generally, it was clear that family restaurant employees showed more complaints than hotel employees did in the section of recognition degree on the present duties. The imperfect matter is that this study could not specify particulars or details of knowledge and skills that are necessary to make a perfect food-service company. However, this study will become a basis to develop further research on a perfect supposition and detailed particulars by detailed variables in a demonstrative way.
