Arius maculatus (Thunberg) of the family Ariidae collected from Wando, Chollanam-do Province is a new family and genus to the fish fauna in Korea. Luciogobius saikaiensis D tu of the family Gobiidae collected from Haenam, Chollanam-do Province is also a new record. Their diagnostic characters, distribution, remarks and photos of each species are given.

The family Triphoridae Gray, 1847 is a group of marine microgastropods characterized by sinistral (left-coiled) shells except for the subfamily Metaciinae, which has dextral shell coiling. We report a new record of Mastonia rubra (Hinds, 1843) collected from the intertidal zone from Jeju Island, Korea and revise species list for Korean Triphoridae species. Mastonia rubra is distinguished from Inforis fusiformis(Kosuge, 1961) by the purple color of the first and second whorls of the teleoconch, whereas they are light colored and nearly white corresponding whorls in I. fusiformis. Including this new record, the Korean Triphoridae comprises 20 species from 15 genera.

A newly recorded species Caprella arimotoi Takeuchi, 1993, belonging to the family Caprellidae Leach, 1814, was collected from the South Sea, Korea. This species is morphologically very similar to Caprella verrucosa Boeck, 1871, with blunt dorsal projections on pereonites, oval-shaped propodus on gnathopod 2, and grasping spines on the pereopods 5-7. Caprella arimotoi originated from C. verrucosa and are difficult to distinguish because they have mixed characteristics. However, C. arimotoi was classified because of several morphological differences. The newly recorded species C. arimotoi is discernible from C. verrucosa by a forwardly curved anterodorsal projection on head, elongated gills, slender pereopod 7, and lacking ventrolateral projections on pereonites 2-7. To date, C. arimotoi has only been reported in Japanese waters. So, our record is the first record in Korean waters and outside of Japan. In this study, the Korean C. arimotoi is illustrated based on the mature male specimens with a brief description of the female, focusing on the sexually dimorphic characters.

The Mesostigmata is an order of Subclass Acari either parasiting to diverse invertebrates or free-living predatory in terrestrial ecosystem. Phoresy is one of the unique behaviors of wingless arthropod dispersal by attaching winged arthropods. We collected mites attached on the dorsal part of abdomen adult sciarid fly, from mushroom culture. The mites were identified as Arctoseius cetratus Sellnick, 1940 in the family of Ascidae. Arctoseius cetratus has short J2, Z1, Z2, and S1, S2 setae, not reaching the bases of following setae. Posterior half of dorsal shield with longitudinal garland of puncta between J and Z setae, peritremes extending anteriorly to midlevel of coxaII. The genus Arctoseius and species Arctoseius cetratus are the first record in Korea. We provided the detail description of the species including the identification key in the family with some ecological notes.

A single specimen of Kentrocapros flavofasciatus (measuring 145.9 mm in length) belonging to the family Aracanidae, order Tetraodontiformes, was collected for the first time in 2017 on Jeju Island, Korea. This specimen had isolated bony plates on a caudal peduncle, a carapace with six ridges, and a tail depth equal to its tail length. It is similar to K. aculeatus and K. rosapinto but differs from K. aculeatus in that its carapace is without spines; it differs from K. rosapinto in that the anterior end of its gill opening does not reach below the center of its eye. We propose new Korean names: Yug-gak-bok-gwa for the family Aracanidae, and Hwang-Jul-yug-gak-bok for the species K. flavofasciatus.

The Dryopidae (Coleoptera) is composed of approximately 300 species worldwide belonging to 33 genera; however, members of the family have not been recorded in Korea. We collected and recorded adult specimens of Elmomorphus brevicornis Sharp (=E. brevicornis brevicornis Sharp) on piles of submerged twigs and branches of a decayed tree (Prunus sp.) from a mountain stream in southwestern Korea with a comparison of the type specimens of E. brevicornis amamiensis Nomura from Japan. Both of the subspecies are raised to the species level herein. Redescription, photographs, line drawings of diagnostic characteristics, distribution map, habitat, and taxonomic notes for Elmomorphus brevicornis are provided.

The family Psychidae is a small group consisting of 241 genera and 1,350 species in the world. The genus Bacotia, belonging to the family Psychidae, what was established by Tutt based on the type species, Fumea sepium Speyer and Speyer, 1846. In this study, we aimed to record lichen-feeding bagworms in Korea. The genus Bacotia Tutt is reported for the first time from Korea with one newly recorded species, Bacotia sakabei Seino, 1981. All available information, including the collecting localities, host plants, illustrations of adults and genitalia are presented. A DNA barcode for precise identification of the species is also described.

Twenty five specimens (40.8~58.4 mm SL) of Gymnogobius taranetzi (Family Gobiidae) were collected from the estuary of Samcheok-si and Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea. This species is distinguished from other Gymnogobius species by oculoscapular canals not extending anteriorly through interorbital space, but replaced by rows of sensory papillae; oculoscapular canal pore C is absent; some yellow bands on body in female with breeding color. The new Korean name "Dong-hae-nal-mang-duk" is proposed for this species.

The family Ciidae is presented for the first time from Korea. Two unrecorded species, Octotemnus laminifrons (Motschulsky) and Octotemnus japonicus Miyatake are reported. Morphological photographs of adults, description, illustrations of diagnostic characteristics, and host fungi are provided.

The pandalid shrimp Procletes levicarina (Bate, 1888) was newly collected from the western and southern waters of Jeju Island, Korea. This species is the only known member of the genus Procletes which belongs to the family Pandalidae. Morphological description and illustration with a color photograph of the species are given. With the addition of P. levicarina, the family Pandalidae in Korean waters consists of 10 species belonging to 5 genera.
