  • Brands have begun to act without giving in to the challenges facing our society. Just like the slogan in the novel "The Three Musketeers" by Alexandre Dumas proclaimed, "All for one, one for all!" in the age of transmedia the success of brand activism must reflect the same principle. Specifically, by embracing the big as well as the little stories of consumers scattered everywhere, each and every one should create a huge resonance. This means that brands should use the cultural lever of transmedia so that the various stories of consumers do not fade into oblivion and, furthermore, expand the brand's call to action. By analyzing brand activism cases in business, this study explores the effectiveness of brand activism for advertisers to develop a better understanding of brand communication strategy. Building on findings that show new young generation consumers to favor brands that respond to social, political, and environmental issues and conceptual implications of the snowball effect, this study emphasizes consumer participation in the brand story creation process and the need for brands to aim for high standards of professionalism and accountability, so that they can grow together with their consumers.

  • In this study a rarely available high-throughput cycling data set of 124 commercial lithium iron phosphate/graphite cells cycled under fast-charging conditions, with widely varying cycle lives ranging from 150 to 2,300 cycles including in-cycle temperature and per-cycle IR measurements. We worked out own Python codes which reproduced the various data plots and machine learning approaches for cycle life prediction using early cycles and more details not presented in the article and the supplementary information. Particularly, we applied regularized ridge, lasso and elastic net linear regression models using features extracted from capacity fade curves, discharge voltage curves, and other data such as internal resistance and cell can temperature. We found that due to the limitation in the quantity and quality of the data from costly and lengthy battery testing a careful hyperparameter tuning may be required and that model features need to be extracted based on the domain knowledge.

  • Edge detection always influenced by the noise of original image, therefore need some methods to eliminate them in advance, and the Mean Shift algorithm has the smooth function which suit for this purpose, so adopt it to fade out the unimportant information and the sensitive noise portions. Above all, we use the Canny algorithm to pick up the contour of the objects we focus on. And, take tests and get better result than the former sole Canny algorithm. This combination method of Mean Shift algorithm and Canny algorithm is suitable for the edge detection processing.

  • In empirical software engineering research, there is an increased use of questionnaires and surveys to collect information from practitioners. Typically, such data is then analyzed based on overall, descriptive statistics. Overall, they consider the whole survey population as a single group with some sampling techniques to extract varieties. In some cases, the population is also partitioned into sub-groups based on some background information. However, this does not reveal opinion diversity properly as similar opinions can exist in different segments of the population, whereas people within the same group might have different opinions. Even though existing approach can capture the general trends there is a risk that the opinions of different sub-groups are lost. The problem becomes more complex in case of longitudinal studies where minority opinions might fade or resolute over time. Survey based longitudinal data may have some potential patterns which can be extracted through a clustering process. It may reveal new information and attract attention to alternative perspectives. We suggest using a data mining approach to finding the diversity among the different groups in longitudinal studies (agile skeptics). In our study, we show that diversity can be revealed and tracked over time with the use of clustering approach, and the minorities have an opportunity to be heard.

  • One of the emerging trends in the marketing field is digital video marketing. Online videos offer rich content typically containing more information than any other type of content (e.g., audible or textual content). Accordingly, previous researchers have examined factors influencing videos' popularity. However, few studies have examined what causes a video to remain popular. Some videos achieve continuous, ongoing popularity, while others fade out quickly. For practitioners, videos at the recommendation slots may serve as strong communication channels, as many potential consumers are exposed to such videos. So,this study will provide practitioners important advice regarding how to choose videos that will survive as long-lasting favorites, allowing them to advertise in a cost-effective manner. Using deep learning techniques, this study extracts text from videos and measured the videos' tones, including factual and emotional tones. Additionally, we measure the aesthetic score by analyzing the thumbnail images in the data. We then empirically show that the cognitive features of a video, such as the tone of a message and the aesthetic assessment of a thumbnail image, play an important role in determining videos' long-term popularity. We believe that this is the first study of its kind to examine new factors that aid in ensuring a video remains popular using both deep learning and econometric methodologies.

  • The purpose of this study is to interpret the elegant dressing visualized in modem fashion on the basis of the concept of elegance in dress and its aesthetic characteristics from the holistic viewpoint. Elegance in dress is based upon the idea of aristocratic taste cultivated by good breeding, considering from the documentary study. It is expressed visually through not only the carefully contrived dress but also a sort of aura of dressed body with skillful ease. The aesthetic values of elegance consist of luxury, nobility, refinement, femininity, harmony. To grasp the trends of elegant styles since 1990s, contents analysis of the articles related to elegance in Vogue has been done. As a result, they have been classified into four groups of elegant styles which are Classic, Elaborate Couture, Soft Minimalism, Kitsch Elegance. Classic Elegance and Elaborate Couture Elegance represent traditional ones with conservative viewpoint. Soft Minimalism Elegance is a modem version of elegance. According to postmodernism as a open system, even kitsch has been refined to keep accompany with elegance fur aristocratic taste of high class. As a result of this study, in fashion from the 16th century to the first half of 16th century, elegance has been one of the significant aesthetic categories, resulting from the absolute domination of taste of high society. However in the end of 20th century it seems to start to fade in fashion trends such as mass fashion, youth culture, casual fashion etc. Rather, it can be thought that elegance has been expressed as one of the aesthetic values in dress, by virtue of its value of high class as well as its conservative stability.

  • In non-geostationary orbit(NGSO) satellite communication links, satellite's elevation angle at terminal is changed continuously because of the satellite movement relative to earth surface. Therefore the characteristics of the fade-effected signal received by a terminal from a NGSO satellite is also varied continuously even if the terminal is operated at fixed location. In this paper, we determine a general statistic model for the fading characteristics over NGSO satellite communication links and set up the parameters of the fading model in terms of the elevation angle according to various propagation environment and find the parameter values using the data of fading margin for commercial NGSO mobile satellite communication systems. And the fading charateristics for each environment are analyzed using this model. These results can be applied to develop the compensation algorithm and to analyze the performance of the transmission schemes for NGSO mobile satellite communication systems.

  • Usually, large-sized buses and trucks have a very high load. In addition, frequent braking during downhill or long-distance driving, causes the conventional method using the brake friction to have a problem in safety because of brake fade and brake burst phenomenon. Auxiliary brakes dividing the braking load is essential. Hence, environment-friendly auxiliary brakes, such as contactless brake rather than the engine auxiliary brake system are needed. A study aimed at improving the energy efficiency by recharging electric energy with changing mechanical to electrical energy that occurs when braking is actively in progress. In this paper, the voltage control method is utilized to recover the electric energy generated in the electromagnetic retarder instead of the eddy current. To regenerate the braking energy into the electrical energy, the resonant L-C circuit is configured in the retarder. The voltage generated in the retarder is simply modeled as a transformer. However, retarder voltage control in this paper is simulated by modeling the induction generator because this induction generator modeling is more practical than transformer modeling. The changes in the voltage of the resonance circuit, which depends on the switch pulse duration of the control device, were analyzed. A PI controller algorithm to control this voltage is proposed. The feasibility of modeling retarder and voltage controller are shown by using MATLAB Simulink in this paper.

  • The ionosphere, the atmosphere of the earth ionized by solar radiations, has been strongly varied with solar activity. The ionosphere varies with the solar cycle, the seasons, the latitudes and during any given day. Radio wave propagation through or in the ionosphere is affected by ionospheric condition so that one needs to consider its effects on operating communication systems normally. For examples, sporadic E may form at any time. It occurs at altitudes between 90 to 140 km (in the E region), and may be spread over a large area or be confined to a small region. Sometimes the sporadic E layer works as a mirror so that the communication signal does not reach the receiver. And radiation from the Sun during large solar flares causes increased ionization in the D region which results in greater absorption of HF radio waves. This phenomenon is called short wave fade-outs. If the flare is large enough, the whole of the HF spectrum can be rendered unusable for a period of time. Due to events on the Sun, sometimes the Earth's magnetic field becomes disturbed. The geomagnetic field and the ionosphere are linked in complex ways and a disturbance in the geomagnetic field can often cause a disturbance in the F region of the ionosphere. An enhancement will not usually concern the HF communicator, but the depression may cause frequencies normally used for communication to be too high with the result that the wave penetrates the ionosphere. Ionospheric storms can occur throughout the solar cycle and are related to coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and coronal holes on the Sun. Except the above mentioned phenomena, there are a lot of things to affect the radio communication. Nowadays, radio technique for probing the terrestrial ionosphere has a tendency to use satellite system such as GPS. To get more accurate information about the variation of the ionospheric electron density, a TEC measurement system is necessary so RRL will operate the system in the near future.
