  • This study developed a measure to measure wellness-seeking behavior in important areas of life for general adults in Korea and verified its validity. For the development of the wellness scale, 31 factors derived through literature review, expert interviews, in-depth interviews, open questionnaires 1 and 2, and 182 questions were selected as the final 10 factors and 99 questions. Through exploratory factor analysis of the results of the preliminary survey of 351 adults in Korea, 58 questions of 10 factors were derived, and some of the questions reflecting important concepts in each factor were revised, and this survey was conducted with 63 questions of 10 factors. In this survey conducted on 667 people, to verify the validity of the composition concept of this test, the entire sampling was divided into two groups, one group was subjected to exploratory factor analysis, and the other group was subjected to confirmatory factor analysis. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, 63 questions of 10 factors (work, community, family, others, economic power, self-esteem, leisure, physical health, spirituality, and self-growth) were finally derived, and confirmatory factor analysis using the structural equation model verified that the model fit criteria were met. Convergence validity was verified using the K-MHC-SF and Wellness Index for Workers to verify whether the derived wellness scale and its sub-factors actually measure wellness. As a result of analyzing the relationship between the variables and factors of the Subjective Happiness Scale and Life Scale to verify the validity related to the criteria, it was found to be a significant correlation. As a result of confirming the significance of each path through multiple regression analysis, the 'self-esteem' on the wellness scale was identified as the most important factor influencing subjective happiness and life satisfaction. Finally, discussions on this research process and results, academic significance and practical significance, limitations, and future research directions were presented.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of life according to the level of subjective perception as well as to analyze the influencing factors and improve the subjective perception to improve the quality of life. The results of the survey for adult patients in hospitals and neighborhood clinics in the region of Busan for nine months from December 2015 were as follows. Regarding the total symptoms, the women had a score of 1.41, and the younger respondents felt they suffered from no symptoms. An analysis of the quality of life by the general characteristics showed that the respondents who were better educated and had no systemic diseases had a higher score of 54.71 on the OHIP-14. The respondents who were better educated and had no systemic diseases had a higher score of 6.48 when a single item was used to determine their happiness index, and the respondents who were better educated and had no systemic diseases had a higher score of 3.82 when five items were used to rate their happiness index. The factor with the greatest influence on their scores on the OHIP-14 was the total symptoms, followed in order by the happiness index and self-rated oral health status. The variable that exerted the largest influence on the happiness index was the OHIP-14, followed by the self-rated health status, high-school or lower education, and the presence or absence of one or more chronic disease. Therefore, an improvement in the subjective awareness level is required to boost the quality of life, and a variety of health education programs should be prepared to raise the awareness level. The subjects were 65,528 Korean adolescents(male: 33,803, female: 31,725), who were derived from the 12th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey 2016 in South Korea. As a result, the prevalence of the subjective sleep sufficiency in this study was 33.4% male and 19.5% female. The subjective sleep sufficiency was affected by the depression experience, suicidal ideation, school achievement, feeling of stress, feeling of happiness, subjective health status, alcohol experience, smoking experience, substance experience, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis in individual factors; economic status, educational level of parents and living arrangement in family factors; school grade, school type and emotional support in environmental factors in both males and females. In individual factors, breakfast eating and asthma affected the male's subjective sleep sufficiency and physical activity affected the female's. The mental health of the individual factors was the most influential factor in adolescent's subjective sleep sufficiency. Therefore, nursing intervention to improve Korean adolescent's subjective sleep sufficiency should be applied considering gender differences.

  • This study was conducted in order to suggest directions for nursing intervention and education to prevent problem drinking of adolescents. We examine the influences of mental health characteristics of adolescents on problem drinking. For the research method, this study conducts secondary analysis using raw data from the 13th (2017) Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. A total of 9,597 cases, excluding adolescents without drinking experience, were used for the final analysis. For the data analysis, the SPSS Win 23.0 program was used, and frequency analysis, ${\chi}^2$-test, and logistic regression analysis were conducted. Research results found general characteristics, school, school record, living type, father's education, and economic state were influencing factors on problem drinking. Regarding characteristics of mental health, depression (95% CI:1.578~1.930, p<.001), subjective happiness (95% CI:1.039~1.491, p=.002), suicidal ideation (95% CI:1.110~1.426, p<.001), and sufficiency of sleep (95% CI:1.085~1.399, p=.001) were primary factors affecting adolescents' problem drinking. Therefore, when conducting education for preventing problem drinking or nursing intervention programs targeting adolescents, it is necessary to provide methods offering experts' in-depth consultation with the consideration of characteristics of mental health of participants. Future research should conduct qualitative studies through in-depth interviews for reviewing problem drinking and identifying characteristics of adolescents. • As ageing society rapidly unfolds, it is becoming an even more important issue to secure wellbeing and happiness of senior citizens and the society as a whole. Growing talks on how culture and art positively affect the elderly led to more demands from the public on culture and art institutions to increase their social participations. Art museums too, as an art and cultural institution and a social education entity, are requested to play a bigger role in the effort to tackle the concerns derived from the ageing society. Korean art museums came up with senior programs since 2000, which makes it a relatively recent phenomenon. The consensus on the importance and needs of such programs has been around for a while in our society. However, effect measurement of these programs needs further research and discussion. This thesis examined the effect of senior programs using the Museum Wellbeing Measures Toolkit published in 2013. With the service quality research model, correlations were analyzed among program components, wellbeing effect, participant satisfaction and their willingness to re-enroll in order to produce a practical guidance on how to plan and operate the programs. To measure effect of senior programs and to analyze influencing factors would provide us with important data to prove the social responsibility and benefit art museums offer in our society. At the same time, such researches would contribute to enhancing the quality of current programs run by museums and give methodological suggestions on how to assess and improve senior programs.
