  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the social-psycholigcal marital conflict contents and marital conflict degree and find out how socio-demographic variables had an effect on marital conflict. For these pourposes 265 couples in the early marriage stage in seoul were randomly selected. The data were analysed through statistical methods such as frequency percentile paired t-test F-test Scheffe-test factor analysis. The major finding of this study were as follows: First the main social-psychological marital conflict contents was the attitude or habit of life communication sexual life personality and intimacy. Second the degree of marital conflict was relatively low. Taking a look at each conflict fact wives was higher than husbands in the degree of the conflict in intimacy factor. Third among socio-demographic variables level of family income wife's education and marriage style had influences on the the marital conflict degree.

  • We have shown that zeolite microcrystals can be readily organized in the form of uniformly oriented monoand multilayers on various substrates by well-defined chemical linkages based on covalent, ionic, and hydrogen bondings between the microcrystals and the substrates. This finding establishes the fact that micrometer-scale building blocks can be readily organized into organized entities through interconnection of the surface-tethered large number of functional groups. Since zeolite crystals have highly regular and uniform nanochannels and nanopores within them, the resulting mono and multilayers of zeolite microcrystals bear great potential to be utilized in various novel applications.

  • It is recognized not only by the health experts but also by the public that venereal diseases are remarkably increasing in these days. Therefore, every available measure for declining of the diseases are planned and implemented through case-finding, diagnosis, treatment, education and research. The author intended to compare and analyse infection rates of venereal diseases between reporting from the Ministry of Health and author's private V.D. clinic during 1961-1971. The following results are obtained through the study: 1. According to the report of the Ministry of Health, 45.0% of total examinees were sick with gonorrhea and 6.5% with syphilis, in one hand, on the other hand 78.7% with gonorrhea and 16.3% with syphilis at the author's clinic. 2. By both the report of the ministry and author, highest infection rates were found in 1966-1968, and this fact was considered by the higher infection rate of G.I. in same years. 3. Contrarily, the lowest infection rates were found out in 1970-1971 through both reports.

  • Today, augmentation of industrial wastes with industrial development demands diminution and recycling technical development for industrial wastes reduction. A statistical research of industry and constructional wastes as a request of the times can achieve the conservation of resource and the protection of environment. The ultimate object of the study is not only diminution and recycling of industrial wastes but also the degree of self-sufficiency in resource and the attainment of comfortable life environment, which can the accomplish the resource circulation system and make progress into the environmentally advanced country. The object of this investigation is industrial classification, a waste discharge quantity, a waste sort, waste disposal of industrial wastes in Yeung-nam area. The investigation of special quality in industrial wastes can be used to establish a wastes management policy and a disposition method .

  • An Electrical facilities of fountain is one of the vulnerable facilities because it is exposed to water. Especially, some children enter the fountain and play in the water in the hot season. For example, death from electrical shock in fountain was reported in domestic and foreign papers. In this paper, we analyzed the riskiness of electrical shock on the basis of a fact-finding survey and comparing the domestic and international standard of electrical facilities in fountains.

  • Based on the fact that obesity is a complicated disease, we must treat obesity in a holistic way, but psychological factors are usually neglected in the clinical field. Oriental Medicine is basically holistic and psychosomatic, however, there are very few psychotherapy approaches in Oriental Medical treatment. In this review Oriental Medicine psychotherapy is outlined and a new model for oriental psychotherapy for the treatment of obesity is introduced. This program has a multi dimensional approach that includes behavioral, cognitive and spiritual components. The behavioral component relates to the discipline of diet and exercise. The cognitive aspect focuses on the mind. The third and possibly the most important component deals with one's spirit and awareness of their true self. This program is called "Yangsung" which means "Finding and raising one's true self."

  • It is well known that for a sequence a = ($a_0,\;a_1$,...) the general term of the dual sequence of a is $a_n\;=\;c_0\;^n_0\;+\;c_1\;^n_1\;+\;...\;+\;c_n\;^n_n$, where c = ($c_0,...c_n$ is the dual sequence of a. In this paper, we find the general term of the sequence ($c_0,\;c_1$,... ) and give another method for finding the inverse matrix of the Pascal matrix. And we find a simple proof of the fact that if the general term of a sequence a = ($a_0,\;a_1$,... ) is a polynomial of degree p in n, then ${\Delta}^{p+1}a\;=\;0$.

  • This paper deals with disparities in course evaluation between general and major courses of mathematics education. We provide concrete evidences which verify the mismanagement of the evaluation system and can be an impetus to a more rational one. We indicate the direction to which professors of mathematics education should head. Also those statistics obtained from the author's teaching of mathematics education and related subjects for twelve years are provided for the fact-finding of and improving the erroneous evaluation system.

  • Quantum chemical calculations were carried out to explain how the electronic states of some series compounds vary with metabolic activation. Compounds studied included aromatic amines and amides, polycyclic hydrocarbons, and a few alkylating agents that do not require metabolic activation. The 1, 2 and 4 positions forming the trans-butadiene frame of a molecule, henceforth referred to as "the trans 1, 2, 4 region", have seen to be important positions for the prediction of carcinogenic activity of these compounds. It is also evident that their electrophilic properties increase with metabolic activation. That is the sum of ${\pi}$-electron densities of the trans 1, 2, 4 region in the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) has been found to increase in the order of precarcinogens < proximate-ones < the carbocation ultimate-ones. This is consistent with the fact that chemical carcinogens become more strongly electrophilic with activating. This region not only provides a unified view of structurally diverse carcinogens, but also predicts uniformity in their reactive sites. Accordingly, we suggest that an understanding of the trans 1, 2, 4 region would be helpful in elucidating the mechanism of carcinogenesis.

  • Few studies have specifically focused on the uncertainty of demand forecasting despite the fact that uncertainty is the one of greatest risks for governments and private partners in PPP projects. This study presents a methodology for finding robust contract conditions considering uncertainty in travel demand forecasting in a PPP project. Through a case study of an urban railway PPP project in Korea, this study uncovered the risk of excessive government payments to private partners due to the uncertainty in contracted forecast ridership levels. The results allow the suggestion that robust contract conditions could reduce the expected total level of government payments and lower user fees while maintaining profitability of the project. This study offers a framework that assists contract negotiators and gives them more information regarding financial risks and vulnerabilities and helps them to quantify the likelihood of these vulnerabilities coming into play during PPP projects.
