Human Sensibility Parameter Estimation by Biological Signal Processing -with the Examiner Direct-Selecting Image Presentation (생체신호처리에 의한 인간 감성파라미터 추출 - 피검자 영상제시물 직접 선정기법에 의하여)

  • This paper described the effect of subjective approach in case of the human sensibility experiments. The procedure is proceeded subjectively. Human faces are selected as the image presentation media. Pleasant and unpleasant images are selected directly by examiner, And also the image presentation system, which is executed with a computer and has the square-type black box monitor equipment, is manufactured. Images are presented with the step-variation time interval technique. questionnaire test and EEG signal detection data are analyzed. The analysis parameters are a “frequency band integral value” and a “band differential variation ratio”. he results show the high sensibility and fast response. The fact that image presenting repetition alleviates is verified.

  • Due to the fourth-instar larvae of C. riparius have a sensitive to ecdysteroidal molting hormones for the life cycle developments, accordingly the emerged adult affected corresponding to larval phase's environments. The emerged female from larval phase exposure to DEHP observed a fact body and clumsy fling behavior in females. The body volume of treated female groups was clearly larger than that of control fe- males. In the 2D/E gel 1108 protein spots were identified. The visualized protein spots allowed extraction of 27 protein spots differed more than 3 fold in DEHP treated animals, which was approximately 2.4% of the total protein spots. In this view, the body volume (or morphological characters) was well observed and detected faster than physiological detection for various EDCs. In this study, the body volume as a detecting po-int for EDCs suggested a bio-marker in individual levels.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks will revolutionize applications such as environmental monitoring, home automation, and logistics. We developed forest fire surveillance system. In this paper, Considering the fact that in Korea, during November to May, forest fires occur very frequently causing catastrophic damages on the valuable environment, Although exists other forest fire surveillance system such as surveillance camera tower, infrared ray sensor system and satellite system. Preexistence surveillance system can't real-time surveillance, monitoring, database and automatic alarm. But, forest fire surveillance system(FFSS) support above. In this paper, we describes a system development approach for a wireless sensor network based FFSS that is to be used to measure temperature and humidity as well as being fitted with a smoke detector. Such a device can be used as an early warning fire detection system and real-time surveillance in the area of a bush fire or endangered public infrastructure. Once the system has being development, a mesh network topology will be implemented with the chosen sensor node with the aim of developing a sophisticated mesh network.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of the detected EMF signals used to detect the rotor position in the IPM(Interior Permanent Magnet) BLDC motor and SPM (Surface Permanent Magnet) BLDC motor. The position sensing signal, in the IPM BLDC motors, advances the real rotor position due to the variation of the rotor inductances. This fact was verified by the simulation and experiment.

  • In the view of the fact that mobile robot in nuclear facilities should be able to turn in narrow space, go over obstacles, and climb stairs for the inspection and maintenance, a robot, named as KAEROT, is developed. It adopts 2DWIS (2-Driving Wheels, 1-Steering) and has three planetary wheels that are composed of two star-like arms and three small wheels. The experiments were carried out in two locomotion methods; (1) by controlling the rear wheel speed as a function of steering angle, and (2) by using inclination and stair-detection sensor to control the position of planetary and small wheel. The developed robot moved on the floor with stability. Results from the experiment on the rectangular obstacle as well as the computer simulation showed a feasibility on the stairs.

  • Voltage and current signals during impulse tests on transformer are treated as non-stationary signals. A new method incorporating signal-processing method such as Wavelets and courier transform is proposed for failure identification. It is now possible to distinguish failure during impulse tests. The method is experimentally validated on a transformer winding. The wavelet transforms enables the detection of the time of occurrence of switching or failure events. After establishing the time of occurrence, the original waveform is split into two or more sections. The wavelet transform has ability to analysis the failure signal on time domain as well as frequency domain. Therefore, the wavelet transform is superior than courier transform to analysis the failure signal. In this paper, the fact was proved by real data which was achieved.

  • We introduce a scheme with a maximized efficiency of detecting atoms passing through an optical standing-wave mode cavity. Consider a standing-wave optical cavity illuminated by a weak probe beam through one of its mirrors where the transmission through the other mirror is monitored by a photodetector. If an atom is put in the cavity, the atom-cavity coupling shifts the resonance frequency of the system via the so-called normal mode splitting, and thereby the transmission power will drop. In fact, this type of atom detection scheme has been used in recent single atom trap experiments In practice, however, the field in a standing-wave mode will have a geometrical structure having nodes and antinodes that when the atom traverses the cavity through one of the nodes, there will be no such effect of atom-field interaction.   • In recent digital communication systems, the performance of Turbo Code used as the error correction coding method depends on the interleaver size influencing the free distance determination and iterative decoding algorithms of the turbo decoder. However, some iterations are needed to get a better performance, but these processes require large time delay. Recently, methods of reducing the number of iteration have been studied without degrading original performance. In this paper, the new method combining ME (Mean Estimate) stopping criterion with SDR (sign difference ratio) stopping criterion of previous stopping criteria is proposed, and the fact of compensating each method's missed detection is verified Faster decoding realizes that reducing the number of iterative decoding about 1~2 times by adopting our proposed method into serially concatenation of both decoder. System Environments were assumed DS-CDMA forward link system with intense MAI (multiple access interference).

In this paper, people who smoke in elevators is submitted to forensic evidence.   • An algorithm detecting abrupt and gradual shot boundaries is proposed in this Paper. The conventional methods detect abrupt shot boundaries well, but do not show good performance on gradual shot boundaries. The proposed method Is based on the fact that the difference of the characteristic between frames is large when the shot conversion occurs. And the Proposed method detects abrupt and gradual shot boundaries with one algorithm. Moreover, it detects not only position where gradual shot conversion occurs, but also the exact duration where gradual shot conversion occurs.
