  • This paper suggests facility planning ideas for recreational fishing complexes suitable for family anglers. Existing recreational fishing parks are only equipped with facilities for angling. There are many needs for recreational fishing complexes in coastal fishing villages that include not only angling facilities but also various marine leisure and sports facilities. In this paper we suggest concepts for recreational fishing complexes and define four types of complexes in terms of facilities planning. These four types of complexes are: 1) suburban leisure sports, 2) suburban healing and relaxation, 3) penturban experience and activities, and 4) penturban culture and recreation. Then we propose facility composition in detail for each type. Also we suggest site selection criteria for the village complex, facility infrastructure planning ideas, and leisure facilities (elementary and specialized) for recreational fishing complexes.

  • The purpose of this plan was to introduce the imaginary environment concept to modem environment design which was drawn by comparison of historic and cultural landscape. An area of $19,056m^2$ in I1-ja mountain water reservoir, located in 94 Dun-Chon-Dong, Gangdong-Gu, Seoul was selected for this planning. The concepts of Barrier-Free Design and Universal Design were introduced in order to accept the demands of various social classes. Based on the results of natural and cultural environment, Animism, Heaven, Earth and Man Theory and Yin-Yang and the Five Elements Theory these concepts were introduced for the philosophical background. Concept planning, topic selection, space planning and axis establishment were conducted during the framework step of the plan. Circulation planning, planting planning, facility and pavement planning, and light planning were conducted during the initial planning step. Lastly, detailed designing was performed for the major spaces. In addition, the imaginary environment concept was applied, ranging from the structural aspect of the space to designing factors of the facility in order to achieve placeness and practicality. In conclusion, this may be the first case design applying the imaginary environment concept to the environmental design with natural environment factors such as animals, plants, terrains and climate, and cultural such as cities, places, time, thoughts and symbols which are all factors to be considered in the existing environment design.

Methods: The results obtained through on-site and interview surveys with hospital officials and medical staffs at four infectious diseases hospitals under construction were summarized based on those original business plans and facility guidelines. Results: First, the operational methods to secure safety and operational efficiency were summarized for each department which are major hospital functions of infectious disease hospitals. Second, as the architectural planning, the characteristics of space and circulation of each department are summarized. For safety of medical staff, negative pressure and non-negative pressure zone have to completely separated. In addition medical staff wears PPE and enters the negative pressure zone and returns in the order of admiral, shower, and gowning in the PPE undressing room after patient treatment. In case of operational efficiency, flexible operation is required in normal and crisis situations. For example, it is important for The Ward to gradually switch to negative pressure beds in times of crisis from normal situation and the outpatient department considers the composition of negative pressure and non-negative pressure outpatient spaces that can operate in parallel even in crisis situations. Implications: Infectious disease hospitals require flexible operation and appropriate facilities for normal and crisis situations.

  • This research was for the investigation and analysis of the illustration of modular construction application which is different use by each school facility since modular construction related examples are rare in domestic situation, and it has a limitation because of its being basic research material for generating the basic form of modular construction. The research results are as followings. First, in case of school facility from illustration investigation results, module measurement of class modulation is as similar as $3m{\times}10m$, but in resident facility the planning of more flexible plane shape can be possible since modules of 6 cases are free and various, and facade form of various types can be appeared by combination of module unit. Second, as a result of the generated characteristics in compared analysis of representative examples, school facilities were highly indicated for movability and duration reduction areas, and the flexibility, economic efficiency, and environment-friendliness was indicated low relatively. Third, the basic planning types of modular construction can be largely divided into layered type, horizontal (straightway) type, and compound type. The layered type has a short traffic line and facility system and is appropriate for the low-rise form unless separate construction method is used since it is susceptible to load. The horizontal type is advantageous for securing an opening since it has wide extent in light but has a long traffic line and facility system. Finally, the compound type can be possible for planning of various forms but needs the combination of various unit modules and traffic line and facility plan for it can be difficult.
