As the rate of foreign workers increasing, the rates of their children are rising, as well. The children's native countries vary from Japan, China to Indonesia, and difficulty of learning is expected in their entering the regular education due to the differences in the contents and curriculum they had learnt. This study analyzed the science textbooks of five Asian elementary schools including Korea, China, Indonesia, Thailand, and Iran-in diversified sides focusing on the content of earth science, for the children of foreign workers. The characteristics of the elementary science textbooks of the subject countries were compared in seven criteria-the rate of earth science in the textbooks, how units are arranged, whether the earth science contents are included, the contents highly related to their socio-cultural traits, photographs, scientific inquiries, and test items. The textbooks showed numerous differences with their own characteristics, and it is expected that the children of foreign workers would face difficulties in studies taking parts in the Korean formal education. Hereupon, this study proposes the needs of development of sub-materials for the children of foreign workers adapting to schools, and reinforcement of educating teachers for understanding children, with a national plan for the children excluded from education due to problems such as an illegal residence.

Environmental impact assessment (EIA) is a tool used in planning development strategies and projects, and its use has been adopted into planning regulations in a number of countries. EIA has progressed from the consideration of pollution assessment, through the wider range of ecological assessment. Now EIA is required to consider the textbook of university students. Students taking lesson on EIA textbook are generally majoring in a variety of subjects, including environmental engineering, environmental health, environmental science, city planning, civil engineering, public policy, economics, and applied earth sciences. However, substantiality program of teaching material on EIA textbook has not been studied at expert society in the meantime, though a number of EIA textbook have been published every year in Korea. In current study, we presented the point at issue and improvement method of teaching material of EIA for student using domestic and foreign teaching materials and papers.

Because of world financial crisis, The Korea domestic construction industry has been damaged hugely on material supplying work. A current domestic material supply system can't react properly on a great rise of foreign exchange rate and raw material price, so the system has a problem which is not properly supplying material. To solve this problem, a more innovative material supply work system is seriously needed than ever. So this study wants to improve material supply system for supplying material right time, right place through applying a web-based system. Applying this, overall process of material-supply-work can be done on a web-based system for immediately understanding change of ordering and warehousing by material-supply-schedule to a domestic construction field.

This study is for achievement of the expected aim on establish principle colour scheme of exterior and interior school facilities. Also this study aims to utilization of the data which is need for educational colour scheme of school facilities basically. The result of this study is as follows; 1) Domestic case study in primary school colour value distributed middle and high level between 5R and 6Y, the case study of foreign colour scheme distributed low and middle level. 2) Domestic case study in middle school facilities colour scheme distributed same colour of R, YR and the chroma distributed between 1 to 4. 3) The case study of domestic and foreign high school colour scheme distributed that in cases of domestic the colour scheme distributed very loose style and foreign cases distributed same colour of RP to YR with middle and high level of value and low chroma. 4) Exterior school facilities colour scheme distributed in Busan is that N~5GY(value 8~9 and chroma 0~8) in main school building skin material colour, 0~4 value and 7.5~9 chroma in assistant skin material colour. 5) Interior school facilities colour scheme distributed same colour of B, BF, PB, RP, N, YR in class room and open classroom in school mainly.

Anisakis is a parasite with life cycles involving fish and marine mammals. Human infection, anisakiasis, occurs with the ingestion of raw infected seafood and usually presents with acute or chronic gastrointestinal symptoms from esophageal or gastric invasion. We report a rare caseinvolving the oral cavity. A 39-year-old male presented with oral and sub-sternal pain of one day duration after eating raw cuttlefish. Physical examination revealed areas of erythema and edema with a central white foreign particle on the labial and buccal mucosa. With microscopic field we could remove the foreign material from the lesions. The foreign material was confirmed to be Anisakis. Anisakis was also removed from the esophagus by esophagogastroduodenoscopy. The patient was discharged the following day without complication. Anisakiasis is frequently reported in Korea and Japan, countries where raw seafood ingestion is popular. The symptoms of acute anisakiasis include pain, nausea, and vomiting and usually begin 2-12 hours after ingestion. The differential diagnosis includes food poisoning, acute gastritis, and acute pancreatitis. A history of raw seafood ingestion is important to the diagnosis of anisakiasis. Treatment is complete removal of the Anisakis to relieve acute symptoms and prevent chronic granulomatous inflammation.

This study investigated secondary materials of children and young adults materials produced by domestic and foreign countries. In order to do that, characteristics and present states of bibliographies, indexes, union catalogs, major journals were examined while bibliography, index and catalog were defined. This study results showed that there were no bibliography and index for children and young adults materials but only recommended book catalogs and award book catalogs were produced in Korea. There were however many various second materials in foreign countries.

A 6-month-old intact female Bichon Frise dog weighing 0.9 kg presented with vomiting, anorexia, and lethargy persisting for 3 days. No remarkable abnormalities were detected on the history or physical examination. Laboratory findings were mostly normal, except for elevated levels of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN). Abdominal radiography revealed a fluid-dilated stomach and gas-dilated intestinal loops in the regional areas. Abdominal ultrasonography was performed to investigate the cause of gastrointestinal dilation, which revealed a rectangular, homogeneous, echogenic foreign material with no shadowing in the small intestine, causing mechanical obstruction. Upon further inquiry involving detailed re-take of history with the owner, a history of ingesting dog gum 4 days prior was identified. On surgical enterotomy, the hard pet food was identified and removed from the distal duodenum. Postoperatively, the patient's clinical signs showed complete improvement, with a return to normal appetite. The present case demonstrates that less-digestible, hard pet food, despite showing no shadowing on ultrasonography, can act as a foreign material, causing mechanical intestinal obstruction in a small-breed puppy. Furthermore, surgical removal of these materials is necessary in cases of intestinal obstruction.

Among lesions in the larynx, laryngeal contact granuloma due to persistent tissue irritation can typically be attributed to endotracheal intubation, vocal abuse, or gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Treatment typically includes voice therapy, lifestyle changes and use of anti-reflux medication. Microsurgical removal is only indicated in cases of severe dyspnea due to mass size. Foreign body granuloma is a response of to any foreign material in the tissue. Foreign body granulomas are sometimes misdiagnosed as soft tissue tumors when the causative foreign body is not initially found. Delayed treatment of these foreign bodies may cause complications. We present a case of larynx granuloma due to impacted foreign body, probably fish bone, in the larynx that mimicked contact granuloma. We initially used anti-reflux medication, but to no avail. The laryngeal mass, observed through laryngoscopy, showed no improvement and therefore necessitated a proper pathologic diagnosis. We were able to successfully treat it via trans-oral laser CO2 microsurgery before any complications developed.

Piezoelectric elements, backing and shoe material are the important components of the ultrasonic transducer. In this study, characteristic constants in the domestic and the foreign PZT ceramic elements are investigated, The acoustic properties of the domestic and the foreign backing and shoes are characterized. The effects of components characteristics, the kinds of the piezoelectric elements and the thickness of the wear plates are investigated for the manufactured normal beam ultrasonic transducers.

For the purpose of domestic production of ultrasonic transducer, experiments on material selection for backing and matching layer, and electrical impedance matching between transducer and equipment were performed. The characteristics of manufactured transducers with experimental results were analyzed and compared with foreign products. Through the evaluation of the transducers manufactured and the comparision with foreign products, it is confirmed that the transducers manufactured show the good performance characteristics and efficiency.
