경사 전극 배열을 이용한 각도방향 마이크로 구동부 제작 (Skewed Electrode Array(SEA) and Its Application as an Angular Microactuator)

  • The angular electrostatic microactuator using skewed electrode array (SEA) scheme was proposed. The moving and fixed electrodes are arranged to make the driving force perpendicular to the rotating moment of arm. By changing the electrode overlap length, the magnitude of electrostatic force and stable displacement will be changed. In order to optimize the design, electrostatic FE analysis were carried out and the empirical force model was established for SEA. Simulation was performed to make the comparison between conventional actuators and SEA. The proposed SEA generates actuating torque 2 times greater than a comb-drive and stable actuator displacement 40% greater than a parallel plate type actuator. The angular electrostatic microactuator using skewed SEA scheme was designed and fabricated using SoG process.

동중국해 외대륙붕해역 니질퇴적물의 지화학적 특성 (Geochemical Characteristics of the Outer-Shelf Muddy Sediments in the East China Sea)

  • 동중국해 외대륙붕 지역에 분포하는 니질퇴적상의 기원지를 밝히기 위해 이곳 니질퇴적물의 지화학적 조성을 분석하였으며, 그 결과를 황하 및 양자강 퇴적물의 자료와 비교 검토해 보았다. 연구지역 표층퇴적상은 니토 퇴적상이 분포하는 중앙부지역과 사질니토 퇴적상이 전역에 넓은 분포를 보인다. 퇴적물내 Fe, Mg, K, Ti 및 Mn과 같은 주성분 원소와 미량원소 함량은 Al과 높은 정의 상관관계를 보여 퇴적물내 점토광물이 이들 원소 농도에 영향을 주고 있음을 의미한다. 주성분원소들의 공간분포에서 Fe, Ti 및 Mn원소는 양자강하구역과 가까운 중앙부 서쪽지역에서 높은 함량을 보여 양자기원 물질이 유입되고 있음을 추론케 한다. 연구지역 니질퇴적물의 Sc/Al, Ti/Nb, Th/Sc, Cr/Th, Nb/Co 및 Th/U 비는 황하와 양자강 기원의 퇴적물을 구분해주는 유용한 지화학적 지시자로 제시될 수 있었다. 이들 원소의 상관도에서 연구지역의 북쪽에 분포하는 니질퇴적물은 황하기원 퇴적물과 유사한 특징을 보이나, 양자강 하구역과 가까운 남서쪽의 퇴적물은 양자강 퇴적물과 유사성을 보여 동중국해 외대륙붕의 니토 퇴적상은 복합기원 퇴적물의 집적되고 있음을 의미한다.

  • 소위 강릉 탄전 지대의 중앙부에 위치한 강원도 강릉시 강동면 지역에는 많은 하천들이 폐탄광으로부터의 산성 광산 배수에 의해 심하게 오염되고 있으며, 그 중 임곡천은 그 오염 정도가 가장 심각하다. 임곡천 오염의 주범은 영동 탄광 배수인데, 이로부터 임곡천에 유입되는 오염 성분은 Mg, Fe, Al, Si, Ca, Mn 및 SO$_4$, 등의 용존 주성분들과 Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Cd, Pb 및 U 등의 용존 부성분들이다 이들은 임곡천에 유입된 후 부유 고형물 보다는 주로 용존 고형물의 형태로 이동한다. 부유 고형물은 Fe와 Al 성분이 우세하며, 주로 하천으로부터 침전되고 있는 또는 그 이전에 침전한 화합물들로 구성되어 있다. 용존 오염 성분은 유로를 따라 이동하면서 가장 하류에 도달하기까지 많은 양이 침전 및 희석에 의하여 하천수로부터 제거되어, 임곡천 수는 동해로 유입되기 직전에 오염되지 않은 일반 하천수의 수질과 크게 다르지 않은 수질을 갖게 된다. 이는 임곡천 자체는 탄광 배수에 의해 심하게 오염되고 있으나, 동해는 탄광 배수에 의한 오염이 거의 진행되고 있지 않음을 나타내는 것이다. 동해가 탄광 배수에 의해 거의 오염되지 않고 있음은 해수 및 해저 퇴적물의화학 분석을 통하여 확인할 수 있다. 임곡천 하구수 및 해수의 화학조성은 세계 평균 해수의 함량과 별다른 차이를 보이지 않으며, 해저 퇴적물 내의 오염 성분의 함량도 어떠한 분포 및 경향성도 나타내지 않는다. 따라서 현재 탄광 배수로부터 공급된 오염 물질들이 임곡천을 통해 동해로 유입되는 양은 미미하며 또한, 해수의 막대한 양에 쉽게 희석되어 동해에 심각한 오염을 야기 시키지는 못할 것으로 생각된다. 그러나, 시간이 흐르면서 임곡천으로 유입되는 지류들이 탄광 배수에 의해 오염되고, 그 결과 오염 물질이 좀 더 하류쪽으로 다량 이동된다면, 동해도 가까운 장래에 탄광 배수에 의한 심각한 오염 가능성이 있다. 그러므로, 현재 심각한 오염이 진행중인 임곡천의 수질 개선 및 환경 개선에 대한 구체적인 방안 마련은 물론이고, 아직 동해의 오염이 심각하지 않은 지금 탄광 배수에 의한 동해의 오염 발생에 대한 대책과 예방책을 마련하는 것이 필요할 것이다.

Effects of Functional Extracts Made from Fermented Plants on Serum Glucose and Lipids Level in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats

  • This study was performed to explore the effects of the fermented functional extracts (FE) on blood glucose and lipid levels in diabetes. FE were created by mixing 9 kinds of plants with sea water and then allowing the mixture to ferment for 1 year. FE were supplemented in the feed of streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats at 1%, 3% and 5%. The 1% feeding group showed the lowest weight loss of the three experimental groups. The blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin level were significantly decreased in the FE fed rats compared to the diabetic control (DMC) group. The lipid levels in serum were decreased in 1% and 3% FE fed rats in comparison to the DMC group, and there was no significant difference in triglyceride levels due to the FE concentration. The HDL-C level was significantly increased in rats with FE supplemented diets, compared to the DMC group. The levels of lipid peroxides in liver tissue were significantly decreased in FE fed diabetic rats, and the hepatic glycogen content was increased in rats receiving supplements. As a result of these studies, we believe 1% FE may be the optimum level for controlling blood glucose and alleviating hyperlipidemia in STZ-induced diabetic rats.

아크 이온 증착된 Ti-Al-Cr-N 도포층의 표면 물성 연구 (Study on the Surface Properties of Arc Ion Plated Ti-Al-Cr-N Thin Layers)

  • Ti-Al-Cr-N thin layer was prepared on Fe-Si thin sheet by arc ion plating to improve corrosion and mechanical properties. The compositions ratios of Fe : Cr : Al : Ti : Si : N of the thin layers at $500^{\circ}C$ was 1.24 : 0.56 : 36.82 : 32.72 : 0.59 : 28.07 [wt.%], respectively. The higher arc ion plating temperature was, the higher corrosion resistance and nano-hardness were observed due to chromium content. Corrosion potential and corrosion rate in artificial sea water of the coating layer were in the range of $-39mV_{SHE}$ and $2mA/cm^2$, respectively. Passivity was not observed in the artificial sea water. Nano-hardnesses of the thin layers was increased by adding Cr from 23.6 to 25.8 [GPa]. The friction coefficients and fatigue limits of the layers were 0.388, 0.031, respectively.

초대형 컨테이너선 구조 설계를 위한 비선형 파랑하중 생성 및 적용 (Generation & Application of Nonlinear Wave Loads for Structural Design of Very Large Containerships)

  • In this paper, the procedure of generation and application of nonlinear wave loads for structural design of large container carrier was described. Ship motion and wave load was calculated by modified strip method. Pressure acting on wetted hull surface was calculated taking into account of relative hull motion to the wave. Design wave height was determined based on the most sensitive wave length considering rule vertical wave bending moment at head sea or fellowing sea condition. And the enforced heeling angie concept which was introduced by Germanischer Lloyd (GL) classification had been used to simulate high torsional moment in way of fore hold parts similar to actual sea going condition. Using wave load generated from this dynamic load calculation, FE analyses were performed. With this result, yielding, buckling, hatch diagonal deflection and fatigue strength of hatch corners were reviewed based on the requirement of GL classification. The results of FE analysis show good compatibility with GL classification.

Effects of Stocking Density on the Blind-side Hypermelanosis of Cultured Olive Flounder Paralichthys olivaceus

  • To determine whether rearing density affects the hypermelanosis on the blind side (ambicoloration) of olive flounders Paralichthys olivaceus, we reared fry with an unpigmented non-eyed (blind) side in duplicate at densities of 150 individuals/$m^2$ (commercial production density: control) and 450 individuals/$m^2$ (high density group) for 90 days in 1-t dark-green fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP) tank. We recorded feed intake, feed conversion efficiency (FE), growth and survival, and measured the ratios of staining blind-side area (staining area) and ambicolored fish every 30 days. Daily feed intake (DFI), feed conversion efficiency (FE), growth rate, condition factors, and survival rate were calculated at the end of the experiment. Although the FE was higher in the high-density compared to the control, the two density groups showed similar feed intakes, growth, and survival. The ratio of staining area as well as the ratio of ambicolored fish significantly were significantly higher in the high-density group than in the control from days 30 to 60, but significantly increased and evened out by the end of the experiment (P<0.05). In conclusion, we determined that rearing density is not the main cause of the blind-side hypermelanosis, but found that increasing the rearing density can accelerate the ambicoloration in olive flounders.

FE-BEM 및 SEA 해석 기법을 활용한 샌드위치 복합재 구조물의 전 주파수 대역 음향 해석 (Full-Frequency Band Acoustic Analysis of Sandwich Composite Structure Using FE-BEM and SEA Method)

  • Increase in use of lightweight structures, coupled with the increased acoustic loads resulting from larger and longer range guided missiles, has made missile more susceptible to failures caused by acoustic loads. Thus, accurate prediction of acoustic environment and the response is becoming ever more important for mission success. In this paper, the acoustic response of a sandwich composite skin structure to diffuse acoustic excitation is predicted over a broad frequency range. For the low frequency acoustic analysis, coupled FE-BEM method is used where the structure is modeled using FEM and the interior and exterior fluid is modeled using BEM. For the high frequency region, statistical energy analysis is applied. The predicted acoustic level inside the structure is compared with the result from acoustic test conducted in reverberation chamber, which shows very good agreement.

동절기 배합사료 공급 횟수가 황복(Takifugu obscurus) 치어의 성장과 체조성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Feeding Frequency on Growth and Body Composition of Juvenile River Puffer, Takifugu obscurus in Winter season)

  • To survey the most feeding frequence of formulated diet as food for cultured puffer in winter season, we performed a rearing test using juveniles of river puffer, Takifugu obscurus (body weight 15.0 g) for 120 days. The feeding frequencies were set up as 2times/1day, 2times/2days, 2times/3days and 2times/4days. We tested triplicately the experiment and investigated survival rate, daily food intake (DFI), feed efficiency (FE), condition factor (CF), daily growth rate (DGR). Consequently, growth was increased following to an increasing of feeding frequency, was the fast in 2times/1day of feeding frequency, and was the slowest in 2times/4days (p<0.05). DFI and CF were increased following to an decreasing of feeding frequency and was the highest in 2times/4days of feeding frequency. FE was decreased following to an decreasing of feeding frequency, and was the highest in 2times/1day of feeding frequency. In a proximate carcass composition at the final day, moisture and crude lipid contents were the lowest in 2times/4days, and in survival, there was not any significant difference among experimental groups. Therefore, we concluded that the 2times/2days are the best of feeding frequency for economical benefit of river puffer culture in winter season.
