Generally, antitumor drugs have strong toxicity and result in damage in normal cells. Previously, lectin has been reported as a tumor cell specific binding protein and tannin as an antitumor substance. In this study, we investigated antitumor activity of lectin-conjugated ellagitannin and used praecoxin A as an ellagitannin source. We injected mouse melanoma cell, B16-F10, on right the femoral region of C57BL/6 mouse. After 10 hours later, first treatment with praecoxin A, lectin-praecoxin A mixiture and lectin-conjugated praecoxin A was carried and followed by injection i.m. every 48 hours. Praecoxin A extended the life of mice up to 14.8% in comparison with the negative control group at 5 mg/kg dose. The life extending ratio of Lectin-praecoxin A mixture was 26.1% at 5 mg/kg dose, and the life extending ratio of lectin-conjugated praecoxin A was 28.7% at 5 mg/kg dose. On the basis of these findings, we suggest that antitumor activities of lectin-praecoxin A mixiture and lectin-conjugated praecoxin A on survival are better than that of praecoxin A.

The slow of 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyarzine(bpp) with Ag(CF₃CO₂) produces crystalline product suitable for X-ray crystallography. Crystallographic characterization of the crystal (C/sub 32/H/sub 20/-F/sub 6/N/sub 8/O₄Ag₂: triclinic P1, a=8.518(5)Å, b=9.546(2)Å, c=10.632(1)Å, α=81.11(1)°, β=87.61(3)°, γ=75.66(3)°, V=827.5(5)ų, Z=1, R=0.0431) has provided that the complex is a cyclic dimer [Ag(bpp)(CF₃CO₂)]₂. Each bpp ligand connects two tetrahedral silver(I) ions in a tridentate mode (Ag-N, 2.26()-2.43(2)Å), and the trifluoroacetato anion is bonded to each silver(I) atom in a monodentate fashion (Ag-O, 2.38(1); 2.39(2) Å). The skeletal cyclic dimer is stable up to 212℃, and drastically decomposes around this temperature.

This study was performed to aid for the case analysis and diagnosis of the maxillofacial deformities. A cephalometric analysis was made from 101 subjects over 18 years old, that consisted of 46 males and 55 females with normal occlusion, acceptable profile. The results o f this study were obtained as follows: 1. The tables of normals in adult male and female were made. 2. The angles of SNO were $65.5^{\circ}$ in male and $65.3^{\circ}$ in female and the horizontal linear measurements from 0 to NA(O-NA) were 9.0 mm in male and 8.9 mm in female. 3. The cranial base angles (SN-FH) were $8.2^{\circ}$in male and $10.3^{\circ}$ in female and the mandibular plane angles (OP-HP) were $28.1^{\circ}$ in male and $26.2^{\circ}$ in female. 4. The correlation of (O-NA) to S-O/S-A and S-O/S-N were higher than SNO, and the correlation of (N-A) to SNA and (N-B) were high.

Purpose: This paper has attempted to investigate the association between the subclinical thyroid function disorder caused by natural change in thyroid hormones or thyroid remedies and the incidence of CHD. Methods: Data was analyzed of 7,675 women who had undergone health examinations in a hospital in Gyeonggi-do between January 2007 and December 2008. The covariation of the coronary risk factors such as age, BMI, HbA1C, systolic blood pressure, LDL:HDL-cholesterol ratio, CRP, smoking and exercise were analyzed by using logistic regression analysis. Results: A significant increase in serum TSH was observed with higher age (F=26.91, p=.00). In terms of age, the risk of CHD started to gradually increase since the 40s and sharply since the 60s (${\chi}^2$=113.29, p=.00). The serum TSH was the most significant parameter influencing CHD (B=.12, p=.00). The risk of coronary heart disease was 3.12 times higher in the subclinical hypothyroidism group (OR=3.12) while no significant difference was observed in the subclinical hyperthyroidism group. Conclusion: Subclinical hypothyroidism may be an independent risk factors for CHD. A nurse nursing patients with thyroid disorder should be well informed of their state of subclinical thyroid function disorder and make efforts to extend their health expectancy.

Sixty-one 5-11 month-old California, Chinchilla and New Zealand White rabbit were employed in this investigation. Thirty-three does were superovulated by injecting FSH/HCG subcutaneously or intravenously and then sacrificed at different hours after mating. The ova were collected from the fallopian tubes with Ham's F-10 medium supplemented with 0.4% bovine serum albumin (BSA) and 1% pregnant rabbit serum (PRS). Embryos were examined under an inverted DIC microscopy for observing the stage of development. We have found that the fertilized ova formed pronuclei at 19 - 20 hr postcoitus. Approximately at 26, 64 - 78 and 84 - 88 hr after mating, the fertilized ova cleaved further to 2-cell, morulae and blastocyst stage respectively. Another 28 does were allocated to the gene transfer study. Fourteen of the 28 does were sacrificed at 19 - 20 hr to donate the pronuclear stage ova for gene injection. The other 14 does were induced to pseudopreganacy by injection of 100 IU HCG intravenous as recipients. Four hundreds and seventeen ova were injected totally and 212 gene injected zygotes were transferred into the recipient oviducts. Five recipients became pregnant and 10 fetuses were obtained. Eight of the 10 fetuses were analysed for gene incorporation, but none of them were transgenic.

An investigation made of the variations of angle of bias on the top of the sleeve cap curve line and calculated easing contraction ratio by capheights(A ; a,h$\times$5,/6) B: A, H/4 +4cm C:A.H/3 D: A.H/ 4+3cm E:AH/4+2cm, F: A,H/4+1cm, G: A,H/4, H:A,H/6, I:A,H/8) and the efects of easing contraction on the cap curve lines of sleeve A, D, G by easing stitch density with the gathering foot: sewing condition-lockstitch industrial machine stitch density(N1.0 ; 38stitches/3cm N1.5: 26stitches/3cm, N2.0 ; 19stitches/3cm, N2.5 ; 14stitches/ 3cm) The results obtained were as follows; 1) The variations of the angle of bias on the top of the sleeve cap curve line by cap heights can be done according to the angle balance (front; $\alpha$-$\beta$ back ; $\alpha$'- $\beta$') between the angle (front ;$\alpha$, $\beta$, back ; $\alpha$'- $\beta$') of bias of the two base-lines. 2) The higher cap height the more higher the calculated easing contraction ratio. 3) The lower the stitch density the higher easing contraction ratio. 4) The effects of easing contraction was that sleeve G was more than sleeve A, D.

The crystal structure of diflunisal, 2',4'-difluoro-4-hydroxy-3-biphenyl-carboxylic acid, was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The compound was recrystallized from a mixture of acetone and water in monoclinic, space group C2/c, with $a\;=\;34.666(6),\;b\;=\;3.743(1),\;c\;=\;20.737(4)\;{\AA},\;{\beta}=\;110.57(2)^{\circ}$, and Z = 8. The calculated density is $1.324\;g/cm^3$. The structure was solved by the direct method and refined by full matrix least-squares procedure to the final R value of 0.045 for 1299 observed reflections. It was found that the molecules in the crystal are partially disordered, that is, the two equivalent conformers $(180^{\circ}$ rotated ones through C(1)-C(7)) are packed alternatively without regular symmetry or sequence. The two phenyl rings of the biphenyl group is tilted to each other by the dihedral angle of $43.3^{\circ}$. The carboxyl group at the salicylic moiety is just coplanar to the phenyl ring, and the planarity of this salicylic moiety is stabilized by an intramolecular hydrogen bond of O(3)-H(O3) O(2). The molecules are dimerized through the intermolecular hydrogen bonds at the carboxyl group in the crystal.

Five-port reflectometer which consists of a ring with 5 arms (two inputs, three outputs) and three RF power detectors has been used as a vector network analyser, a demodulator in the homodyne receiver as well as in Phase Looked Loop (PLL) and so on. Calibration of five-port reflectometer is an important task. In this paper, we present a calibration method of five-port for a propagation channel sounder. The method is based on measurement of the phase differences between the three voltages at the five-port's outputs in order to determine the ratio of two input incident waves. The frequency channel sounder based on five-port is calibrated for each frequency from 2.2 GHz to 2.6 GHz with 1 MHz step. This method can also determine the absolute delays of each propagation path in the propagation channel. The calibration method is validated using measurement data.

This paper presents a wideband and low-noise direct conversion front-end receiver supporting VHF and UHFbands simultaneously. The receiver iscomposed of a low-noise amplifier (LNA), a down conversion quadrature mixer, and a frequency divider by 2. The cascode configuration with the resistor feedback is exploited in the LNA to achieve a wide operating bandwidth. Four gainstep modesare employed using a switched resistor bank and a capacitor bank in the signal path to cope with wide dynamic input power range. The verticalbipolar junction transistors are used as the switching elements in the mixer to reduce 1/f noise corner frequency. The proposed front-end receiver fabricated in 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS technology shows very low minimum noise figureof 1.8 dB and third order input intercept pointof -12dBm inthe high-gain mode of 26.5 dBmeasured at 500 MHz.The proposed receiverconsumeslow current of 20 mA from a 1.8 V power supply.

Ornidazole, C7H10ClN3O3, crystallizes in the triclinic, space group P1^, with a=13.605(2), b=14.054(1), c=8.913(5) Å, α=71.59(2), β=78.73(2), γ=64.86(1)°, μ=3.26 cm-1, Dc=1.499 g/cm3, Dm=1.497g/cm3, F(000)=684, and z=6. Intensities for 2693 unique reflections were measured on a CAD4 diffractometer with graphite-monochromated Mo-Kα radiation. The structure was solved by direct method and refined by block-diagonal least squares to a final R of 0.081 (Rw=0.047) for 1952 reflections with Fo>3σ (Fo). The asymmetric unit contains three independent molecules of the title compound. The bond lengths and bond angles are comparable with the values found in the other nitro-substituted compounds. The nitro groups are rotated (6.9°, 6.6°, 2.6° for the three independent molecule, respectively) about the C-N axes from the imidazole planes. The crystal structures are linked by two intermolecular hydrogen bonds of O-H---N type and one intermolecular hydrogen bond of O-H---O type.
