  • This study aimed to elucidate any differences in fashion consumption tendencies among fashion consumers according to their MBTI personality types and fashion brand sensibility (Chanel vs. Off-White). Differences in fashion consumption tendencies (fashion sensitivity, fashion innovativeness, and fashion ostentation) were determined based on two of MBTI's four bipolar indicators: extroversion-introversion, sensing-intuition, thinking-feeling, and judging-perceiving. It was found that intuitive consumers showed higher fashion innovativeness than sensory consumers. In addition, feeling-type consumers showed more fashion-sensitive and ostentatious fashion consumption tendencies than thinking-type consumers. Fashion brand sensibility acted as a moderator in the relationship between personality type and fashion consumption tendency. Especially, moderating effects of fashion brand sensibility and fashion consumption tendencies were evident in sensing-intuition and judging-perceiving types. Among intuitive consumers, those who preferred Chanel brand sensibility exhibited higher tendencies for fashion ostentation than those who preferred Off-White brand sensibility. However, sensory type consumers showed no difference in fashion ostentation based on their preferred fashion brand sensibility. Interaction effects regarding fashion sensitivity and fashion innovativeness were not found. Among perceiving-type consumers who preferred Chanel brand sensibility, high fashion sensitivity was evident. Conversely, judgment-type consumers who preferred Off-White brand sensibility showed high fashion sensitivity. Interaction effects concerning fashion innovativeness and fashion ostentation were not found.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Small-Scale Chemistry (below SSC) Lab Program with respect to students' extroversions and introversions. For this study, an SSC Lab Program was developed on the basis of analyzing the chemistry part of the high school science textbook in the 7th curriculum. The experimental group received SSC experiment lessons, and the comparison group received traditional experiment lessons based on textbook for 5 class periods. Afterwards, students were grouped into extrovert and introvert according to their personality test scores, the differences between the two groups were investigated using 2-way ANCOVA. Prior to the instructions, three test regarding the scientific attitude and academic self-efficacy were administered. After the instructions, the scientific attitude, academic self-efficacy, and students' perceptions on SSC Lab Program were examined. The scores in mid-term and end-of-term science exams were used as pre-test and post-test science achievement scores, respectively. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that there were effects in the score of the academic achievement score, but there was no interactive effect between extroversion/introversion and treatment. In addition, a significant interactive effect was found in the scientific attitude, but there was no significant main effect. It was interpreted that extrovert students had many opportunities in SSC experiment classes and were able to experiment with initiative, but introverts would feel the responsibility and the pressure owing to the small group experiment. There were no main and interactive effects in the score of the academic self-efficacy test. Survey of students' perceptions on SSC Lab Program revealed that both over 90% extrovert and introvert students showed very positive perceptions in 'three-membered small group composition,' 'understanding,' and 'convenience' items. It was found to be a very different perception between extrovert and introvert students in 'comparing result with other students' item.

  • The aim of this study was to provide fundamental information on the validity and credibility of the Korean geometric psychological assessment (GEOPIA) by investigating the degree of relation between the GEOPIA and the MBTI. Data was collected from 331 subjects aged 19 to 70, residing in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Jeolla Province, or Gyeongsang Province. Participants completed the GEOPIA and the MBTI during the period of May to September 2017. The study calculated Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ to verify the tests' validity and reliability through SPSS. For the relational analysis between the results of the tests, we conducted a one-way analysis of variance on the first group of the GEOPIA's personality types, and the Scheffe Test if significant relationship was found. The study found that the circle type was predisposed to ESFJ, the triangle type to ESTJ, the rectangle type to ISTJ, and S type to INFP. Higher scores of feeling (F) and perceiving (P) corresponded to circle and S types, thinking (T) and judging (J) for triangle and rectangle types, extroversion (E) for circle and triangle types, and introversion (I) for rectangle and S types. These confirmed the substantial relations between the GEOPIA and the MBTI.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the relationships of brain laterality, active EEG over all brain regions and personality traits by measuring EEG signals on the basis of the counseling psychology personality theories. For this study, the EEG of ninety-six college students as measured by an eight channel EEG device and analyzed through the computer and the data of their Big Five Personality Test were analyzed by statistical analysis. The result was that when theta's laterality at the prefrontal lobe is bigger, neuroticism is higher in the personality factors. On each of the brain regions, theta's activity on the left of the prefrontal lobe makes higher neuroticism but lower conscientiousness, and beta's activity on the left of the frontal lobe makes lower extroversion and openness to experience. These results showed that there are statistically meaningful relationships between the brain region activated specific EEG and individual personality or psychological traits. This study branched out into theta band while most previous studies measured in alpha and beta band. Also from these results it suggested the counseling strategy with the brain and follow-up studies.

  • This study aimed to compare the effects of two emotion regulation strategies, namely, cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression in female college students. Specifically, the effects of these two emotion regulation strategies were tested and the intrapersonal factors related to the effects of these strategies were explored. The participants included 60 female college students. In Study 1, 40 participants were randomly assigned to each of the two different strategy groups, i.e., a between-subject design was employed. In Study 2, 20 participants were asked to use both strategies to regulate their emotion, i.e., a within-subject design was employed. The results revealed that both emotion regulation strategies effectively reduced negative emotion of emotional stimuli. However, the use of emotion regulation assessed with a questionnaire was not matched to the actual usage of regulation strategies examined with a task. Finally, the use of a suppression strategy was related to the extroversion psychological adaptive variable. Our findings suggest that the subjective assessment of the use of an emotion regulation strategy may not be the same as the actual use of an emotion regulation strategy. Furthermore, we demonstrated that when participants have an option to use both strategies, the cognitive reappraisal is more functional than expression suppression. This concurs with the previous findings on the effects of emotion regulation strategies.

  • Objectives: To examine the medical effectiveness of meditation programs ($\alpha$ version) by psychological types. Methods: MBTI, which was created by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers, was used as the Psychological Type test and to investigate psychological temperament and functions and psychological preferences. Heart rate variability was used to test the effectiveness of meditation by investigating time domains (mean HR, SDNN, PSI) and frequence domain parameters (TP, LF, HF, LF or HF norm, Ln (TP or VLF or LF or HF). Results: 1. The autonomic nervous system became active, and both time domains and frequency domains showed positive responses to meditation in heart rate variability tests, without distinction of Psychological Types. 2. In Psychological Types using sensing over intuition for perception, there were positive responses as well as an increase of the parasympathetic nervous system's activeness to meditation for heart rate variability tests, depending on psychological temperaments and psychological functions. 3. In heart rate variability tests by preferences, there was no difference. Extroversion and Introversion types, Sensing over Intuition Types, Thinking over Feeling Types, Judging over Perception Types had an increase of activeness of the parasympathetic nervous system. Therefore, meditation has a positive physical and psychological relaxing effect. Conclusions: A complex meditation program has a positive effect on overall meditation. Especially in the MBTI test, sensing was superior to intuition when people recognized objects. The Sensing, Thinking and Judging type was more advantageous than Intuition, Feeling and Perception, respectively. In the future, a well-designed control study is needed, to develop a suitable meditation for each personality type.

  • The personality structure of animation characters is revealed as the characters' roles and behavioral patterns in the drama work as elements of sympathy with the audience. Therefore, character creation is not simply limited to the invention of outward appearance. It must start from understanding the importance of personality structure that leads the plot. Thus the present study examined various personality structures retained in characters, centering on The Spiriting Away Of Sen And Chihiro by director Hayao Miyazaki, who has created unique characters. As parts of this research, first, the general characteristics of animation characters were defined. Second, personality types were examined from Carl G. Jung's psychological viewpoint. Analysis was made by connecting the method of classifying personality types based on the multiplicity of personality, namely, 'extroversion and introversion, intuition and sense, thinking and feeling, and judgment and understanding' to the method of classification based on the organic relations among roles in the drama, namely,'victim, persecutor and savior'. Lastly, the research viewpoint derived from the analysis of characters in The Spiriting Away Of Sen And Chihiro was applied. The present study defined the general characteristic revealed by the personality types of characters and their organic relations as 'the personality structure of characters' and documented data. In addition, this study is regarded as meaning in that it suggested an example of the effective creation of animation characters that win the sympathy of the audience.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the differences of argumentation discourses for Socio-Scientific Issues in the types of decision-making and personality traits of pre-service biology teachers. For this study, SSI discussion topics were selected according to four types of decision making: logical reasoning, suggestion of complement, emotional base, and internal conflict. Three groups were constructed based on personality traits such as extroversion, acceptability, and integrity. Each three group used the workbook specially developed and freely used the smart device for discussion. A recorder and a camcorder were used to record each group, their behavior was recorded and the written materials during the discussion were collected for the results. Using Walton's analysis framework, the collected data analyzed in terms of the source of utterance, the process of dialogue shift, and the critical movements that can judge the reasoning of utterance. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the decision-making type of SSI topics and learners' personalities were influential in the decision-making process of SSI small group discussions. This research shows that there is a need to develop instructional materials considering decision-making types and learners' personality types of students as well as pre-service teachers for SSI discussion.
