엔진오일의 혼합첨가제에 따른 윤활특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Lubricational Characteristics with Compound Additives of Engine Oil)

  • When engine oil is used under severe running condition, the Lubricational characteristics is very important. I have studied the Lubricational characteristics with Compound Additives of engine oil for the Falex wear test machine. Adding detergent (Ca-phenate) to engine oil, the seizure is more improved than in case of non-adding, and adding Zn-DTP (Zinc dialkyl dithio phosphate), the extreme pressure property is excellent at the high load. But when the PTFE (Polytetra Fluoro Ethylene) and MoS$_{2}$ (Molybdenum disulfide) are added, the temperature characteristics and the anti-wear property become excellent because the stability can be maintained in a high temperature. The result are as follows, it can be improved that when the compound of the Ca-phenate and Zn-DTP, MoS$_{2}$, PTFE, etc. was added to engine oil, the lubrication characteristics become better. It is argued that it is improved because of excellence of the anti-wear, the extreame pressure properties and the heat stability.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the subjective opinions related to the weight control by using Q-methodology. Forty four adults were selected for P-sample from July to August, 1998. The collected data were analyzed by PC Quanl program. The results were as follows : There were 5 types of the adult's opinions about the weight control. Type I(Concern about weight control) : This type believes that there is a problem with general social attitudes, but the weight control it self is necessary. Type II(Health conscious) : This type believes that good health is very important and weight control is way of maintaining and improving good health. Type III(Obsessive) : This type believes that weight control is absolutely necessary no matter what it takes including extreme dietary change. Type IV(Influence by social pressure) : This type believes that the external stimulation and help is needed to motivate weight control. Type V(Self control) : This type believes that self determination is necessary regardless of social pressure.

  • Many research works for improving a boundary lubrication performance have been executed by using solid lubricants, and been tried to apply an engine lubrication. However those general lubricants like MoS$_2$ or PTFE have not been applied on engines due to the extreme conditions such as very high temperature and pressure by combustion process in a cylinder. A copper nickel alloy fine particle has been introduced and studied. In this Paper the lubricant using the alloy Particles is applied on a marine diesel engine and assessed by the engine performance test The results showed the increase of cylinder pressure related strongly to the engine efficiency as well as the improving the engine lubrication performance.

  • The study is actively being performed to increase fuel injection pressure of common rail system among countermeasures to meet the emission regulation strengthen of the Diesel engine. The common rail fuel injection tube in such ultra high pressure common rail system has the weakest structural characteristics against vibration that is generated by fuel injection pressure and pulsation during engine operation and driving. Thus the extreme durability is required for common rail fuel injection tube, and the drawing process is being magnified as the most important technical fact for strength of seamless pipe that is the raw material of common rail tube. In this respect, we analyzed the characteristic of dimension and stress variation of the ultra high pressure common rail fuel injection tube by variation of Die and Plug angle in drawing process. Based on the analysis, we tried to obtain the raw material strength of common rail fuel injection tube for applying to the ultra high pressure common rail system. As a result, Plug angle is more important than entry angle of Die and we could obtain the target dimension and strength of the ultra high pressure common rail fuel injection tube through optimization of Plug angle.

과거 60년 간 한반도에 영향을 미친 태풍의 강도 및 지속기간의 경향 분석 (Trend Analyses of Intensity and Duration of Typhoons That Influenced the Korean Peninsula during Past 60 Years)

  • 본 연구에서는 과거 60년 간 한반도에 영향을 미친 태풍의 강도(중심기압)와 지속기간에 대한 경향 분석을 실시하였다. 경향 성분 추출을 위해 Singular Spectrum Analysis(SSA)를 사용하였고 경향 성분에 대한 선형회귀분석 결과 태풍의 강도가 약간 증가하는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 또한 약 30년의 장주기 변화를 발견하였고, 이에 따라 전체 시계열을 30년 기간의 두 개의 하위 기간으로 나눠서 태풍의 중심기압 및 지속기간에 대한 정규분포 및 Gumbel 분포를 추정하였다. 그 결과 두 번째 기간에 평균적인 태풍의 중심기압은 감소하지만 수퍼 태풍에 해당하는 매우 큰 태풍의 비율은 거의 변화가 없음을 발견하였다. 지속기간에 대해서도 두 번째 기간에 뚜렷한 증가가 있음을 발견하였다.

북극 온난화에 따른 겨울철 대기 변동성 분석 연구 (Analysis on Winter Atmosphereic Variability Related to Arctic Warming)

  • The "Barents Oscillation (BO)", first designated by Paul Skeie (2000), is an anomalous recurring atmospheric circulation pattern of high relevance for the climate of the Nordic Seas and Siberia, which is defined as the second Emperical Orthogonal Function (EOF) of monthly winter sea level pressure (SLP) anomalies, where the leading EOF is the Arctic Oscillation (AO). BO, however, did not attracted much interest. In recent two decades, variability of BO tends to increase. In this study, we analyzed the spatio-temporal structures of Atmospheric internal modes such as Arctic Oscillation (AO) and Barents Oscillation (BO) and examined how these are related with Arctic warming in recent decade. We identified various aspects of BO, not dealt in Skeie (2000), such as upper-level circulation and surface characteristics for extended period including recent decade and examined link with other surface variables such as sea-ice and sea surface temperature. From the results, it was shown that the BO showed more regionally confined spatial pattern compared to AO and has intensified during recent decade. The regional dipolelar structure centered at Barents sea and Siberia was revealed in both sea-level pressure and 500 hPa geopotential height. Also, BO showed a stronger link (correlation) with sea-ice and sea surface temperature especially over Barents-Kara seas suggesting it is playing an important role for recent Arctic amplification. BO also showed high correlation with Ural Blocking Index (UBI), which measures seasonal activity of Ural blocking. Since Ural blocking is known as a major component of Eurasian winter monsoon and can be linked to extreme weathers, we suggest deeper understanding of BO can provide a missing link between recent Arctic amplification and increase in extreme weathers in midlatitude in recent decades.

절점기준에 따른 강우빈도 변화 및 종관기후학적 분석 (Analysis of Changes in Rainfall Frequency Under Different Thresholds and Its Synoptic Pattern)

  • 최근 기상변동성이 증가함에 따라 지난 30년 동안 극한강우의 발생 빈도는 점차 증가하고 있다. 우리나라는 지리적으로 단시간에 매우 높은 강우강도를 유발하는 강우사상이 빈번하게 발생하여 홍수사상이 유발되기 쉽다. 본 연구에서는 장기간의 강우자료를 활용하여 극치강우사상의 발생을 고려한 강우빈도해석을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 극치강우사상을 분석하는데 있어 서로 다른 절점기준을 사용하여 극치강우의 발생횟수를 반영한 포아송-GPD 강우빈도해석 기법을 개발하였다. 빈도해석을 수행함에 있어서 확률분포 매개변수의 불확실성을 보다 정량적으로 산정할 수 있는 Bayesian 기법을 적용하였으며, 또한 각각의 절점기준에 따라서 분류된 강우사상의 종관기후학적 분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과 우리나라의 극치강우 발생이 증가하는 지점에서 기존의 Gumbel 분포를 통한 확률강우량보다 상향된 결과를 도출하였다. 이는 포아송-GPD 모형이 치수안정성 측면에서 유리한 모형으로 판단된다. 또한 동중국해 지역의 저기압 특성과 북태평양 고기압 특성이 우리나라 극치강우현상에 주로 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다.

Influence of Ne-Xe Gas Mixture Ratio on the Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) Emission Measurement from the Coaxially Focused Plasma

  • The Ne-Xe plasmas in dense plasma-focus device with coaxial electrodes were generated for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography. The influence of gas mixture ratio, Ne-Xe (1, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 50%) mixture gas, on EUV emission measurement, EUV intensity and electron temperature in the coaxially focused plasma were investigated. An input voltage of 4.5 kV was applied to the capacitor bank of 1.53mF and the diode chamber was filled with Ne-Xe mixture gas at a prescribed pressure. The inner surface of the cylindrical cathode was lined by an acetal insulator. The anode was made of tin metal. The EUV emission signal of the wavelength in the range of 6~16 nm has been detected by a photo-detector (AXUV-100 Zr/C, IRD). The visible emission line was also detected by the composite-grating spectrometer of the working wavelength range of 200~1100 nm (HR 4000CG). The electron temperature is obtained by the optical emission spectroscopy (OES) and measured by the Boltzmann plot with the assumption of local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE).

풍속 재현빈도와 일치하는 해일모의용 표준태풍 생성 (Generation of a Standard Typhoon using for Surge Simulation Consistent with Wind in Terms of Return Period)

  • 서해안에 영향을 미친 태풍자료를 사용하여 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션을 통해 목포를 비롯하여 군산, 인천 및 제주 등 서해안 4곳의 빈도별 풍속을 산정하였다. 민감도분석 결과 최근접거리와 최대풍속반경의 차이가 풍속에 가장 영향을 크게 미치는 요소이고 위치각과 기압강하량 역시 민감한 반면 이동속도는 가장 둔감한 매개변수로 나타나고 있다. 이를 토대로 빈도별 최대풍속을 발생시키는 평균적인 해당빈도의 표준태풍을 설정할 수 있으며, 각 지점에서의 태풍 매개변수 설정을 통해 표준태풍을 확립할 수 있다. 이러한 표준태풍을 통해 빈도별 풍속과 일맥상통하는 빈도별 해일고 역시 산정할 수 있게 된다. 또한 가항반원에 해당하는 자료만 포함시켜 해석함으로써 음해일을 유발하는 표준태풍 역시 생성할 수 있다.

연강(Mild Steel)의 극저온 파괴 거동에 대한 실험적 연구 (Study on Fracture Behavior of Mild Steel Under Cryogenic Condition)

  • LNG선이나 해양플랜트 같은 설비나 구조물은 작동 조건을 고려할 때, 특히 부재마다 가지는 고유한 연성 취성천이온도(Ductile to Brittle Transition Temperature, DBTT)를 고려하여 설계되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 해양플랜트 및 LNG선에 hull plate로 쓰이는 A-grade 연강(mild steel)에 대해 DBTT를 샤르피 V-노치(CVN) 실험을 통해 알아보았고 파괴형상을 통한 파괴거동을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 온도가 감소함에 따라 충격 흡수에너지는 감소함을 보였다. Upper shelf energy region과 lower shelf energy region이 나타나고 그 사이 구간의 천이점을 통해 DBTT가 결정되었다. 파괴형상에서는 upper shelf energy region에서 수많은 딤플이 연성파괴 형상으로 관찰되고 lower shelf energy region에서는 전형적인 취성파단형상이 관찰되었다. 이를 통해 BCC 구조를 가지는 A-grade 연강은 upper shelf energy 구역과 lower shelf energy구역을 보이고 그 사이 구간의 천이점에서 급격하게 온도가 떨어지는 DBTT구간을 뚜렷하게 보이는 특성을 알 수 있었다.
