Automatic Extraction and Measurement of Visual Features of Mushroom (Lentinus edodes L.) (표고 외관 특징점의 자동 추출 및 측정)

  • Quantizing and extracting visual features of mushroom(Lentinus edodes L.) are crucial to the sorting and grading automation, the growth state measurement, and the dried performance indexing. A computer image processing system was utilized for the extraction and measurement of visual features of front and back sides of the mushroom. The image processing system is composed of the IBM PC compatible 386DK, ITEX PCVISION Plus frame grabber, B/W CCD camera, VGA color graphic monitor, and image output RGB monitor. In this paper, an automatic thresholding algorithm was developed to yield the segmented binary image representing skin states of the front and back sides. An eight directional Freeman's chain coding was modified to solve the edge disconnectivity by gradually expanding the mask size of 3$\times$3 to 9$\times$9. A real scaled geometric quantity of the object was directly extracted from the 8-directional chain element. The external shape of the mushroom was analyzed and converted to the quantitative feature patterns. Efficient algorithms for the extraction of the selected feature patterns and the recognition of the front and back side were developed. The developed algorithms were coded in a menu driven way using MS_C language Ver.6.0, PC VISION PLUS library fuctions, and VGA graphic functions.

  • 1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to objectify the diagnosis of Sasang Constitution. Using the methods of this study, it will improve to classificate Sasang Constitution. 2. Methods 1) Automatic feature extraction of human frontal faces for Sasang Constitution classification. 2) Color feature extraction of human frontal faces (1)Erosion filtering (skin-white, the other-black) (2) Median median 3. Results and Conclusions Observing a person's shape has been the major method for Sasang Constitution classification, which usually has been dependent upon doctor's intuition as of these days. We are developing an automatic system which provides objective basic data for Sasang Constitution classification. For this, in this paper, firstly, the signal processing techniques are applied to automatic feature extraction of human frontal faces for Sasang Constitution classification. The experiment is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • Solvent extraction equilibria of alkali metal cation with crown ether (DC18C6, DC24C8) and HDEHP have been studied. The extraction equilibrium constants increase in the order of, in the DC18C6 system, $Na^+, and in the DC24C8 system, $Rb^+. The species extracted to organic phase are $M_1(crown ether)_1\;(HDEHP)_1$. The magnitude of extraction equilibrium constant is determined by the distribution ratio of crown ether between organic and aqueous phase, and stability constant of crown ether-alkali metal complex.

  • The near future smart ubiquitous computing oriented system will have to provide the optimal (right) service through interactions between users and the system. To provide the right services what the user needs, we should choose the user-centered development for reflecting the user needs, but not the developer-centered development. To do this, we proposed User Behavior Analysis Based Needs Extraction Method [1]. In this paper, we propose Object Extraction and Modeling Method from the user requirements with Fillmore's Case Grammar.

  • It was studied on the reductive extraction between the eutectic salt and Bi metal phases. The solutes were zirconium and the rare earth elements, where zirconium was used as the surrogate for the transuranic(TRU) elements. All the experiments were performed in a glove box filled with argon gas. Two types of experimental conditions were used -high and low initial solute concentrations in salt. Li-Bi alloy was used as a reducing agent to reduce the high chemical activity of Li. The reductive extraction characteristics were examined using ICP, XRD and EPMA analysis. Zirconium was successfully separated from the rare earth elements by the reductive extraction method. The LiF-NaF-KF system was favorable among the fluoride salt systems, whereas the LiCl-KCl system was favorable among the chloride salt systems. When the solute concentrations were high, intermetallic compounds were found near the salt-metal interface.

  • Recently, Hashtag is widely used in SNS like Facebook, Twitter and personal blogs. However, the efficiency of tag search system is poor due to the indiscriminate use of hashtags. To enhance the accuracy of tag search system, we proposed a tag search system using the keyword extraction and similarity evaluation. The experimental results show that the proposed system provides the higher accuracy on tag search results.

  • We have designed and implemented an optoelectronic hardware of binary phase extraction joint transform correlator (BPEJTC) which provides higher peak-to-sidelobe ratio than many other versions of JTC that has been published so far and does not produce correlation peaks due to intra-class association, to construct a multi-target tracking system. The digital processing unit controlling the entire system plays the part of modifying and binarizing the joint transform power spectrum (JTPS) and the optical processing unit is mainly used to take fourier transform operations. Some experimental results conducted by designed system along with its architecture showed the processing rate of 6 frames per second, thereby the potential applicability of the proposed system to real-time multitarget tracking system is given.

  • Purpose of the 765kV trial operation conducted for the first time in our country are performance verification of domestic developed equipment(765kV M.Tr, GIS,etc) and extraction of problem in advance to commercial operation and cultivation of operation ability.   • In urban area, since multipath and signal attenuations frequently occur due to street trees, street lights and buildings, it is difficult to obtain accurate navigation solution using GPS. As these problems also impact negatively on the INS/GPS coupled system, implementing advanced transportation systems such as autonomous navigation system and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) become quite hard. For this reason, to alleviate deterioration of navigation system performance in urban area, direction information extraction algorithm using vision system is proposed in this paper. 2D Finite Rate of Innovation (FRI) technique is applied to extract lane edges. The proposed technique is simulated using road images and feasibility of proposed technique is analyzed through the simulation results.

  • A Robot Performance Evaluation System(RPES) Program with auto extraction algorism was developed according to the ISO 9283 robot performance criteria. The developed program looks for order point automatically in data that get laser measurement Instrument and estimate performance of robot using this order point. In addition, this program estimates Each Joint Motion of robot. Robot Performance Evaluation System(RPES) Software was developed with Visual Basic satisfying the need of Hyundai Motor Company. The developed system was implemented on NACHI 8608 AM 11 robot. The resulted output shows the effectiveness of the developed system.
