The abnormal male Newhampshire of five months age with three hindlimbs was examined macroscopically and radiographically The external feature included two normal wings, two normal hindlimbs and an underdeveloped extra hindlimb, which was attached to the pelvic region. The extra hindlimb consisted of an underdeveloped femur like bone, tibiotarsus likebone, tarsometatarsus like bone and three rows of digits with claw. The femur like bone was fused with pelvic girdle like bone. The bones of extra hindlimb were fused into one except one row of digit, which was attached to the tibiotarsus like bone. Three ceca and one cloaca with two vents were also observed.

We discuss various aspects of anisotropic gravity in (d+D)-dimensional spacetime, where D dimensions are treated as extra dimensions. It is based on the foliation preserving diffeomorphism invariance and anisotropic conformal invariance. The anisotropy is embodied by introducing a factor z which discriminates the scaling degree of the extra D dimensions against the d-dimensional base spacetime and Weyl scalar field which mediates the anisotropic scaling symmetry. There is no intrinsic scale but a physical scale M_* emerges as a consequence of spontaneous conformal symmetry breaking. We discuss interesting lower dimensional gravity theories obtained from our model. In a (d, D) = (2, 2) case, we suggest a UV-complete unitary quantum gravity which might become Einstein gravity in IR. In a certain (2,1) case, we obtain CGHS model. Some vacuum solutions are also obtained and we discuss an issue of 'size separation' between the base spacetime and the extra dimensions. The size separation means large distinction between the scales (e.g. cosmological constant) appearing in the base spacetime and the extra dimensions respectively.

This study explored the effect of increased feed intake during the late gestation on the reproductive performance of sows, and fecal score in sows and piglets. A total of 21 crossbred [Landrace × Yorkshire] multiparous sows were randomly distributed into three treatments with seven replicates per treatment. Treatments: CON, 2.4 kg/day; TRT1, 3.2 kg/day; TRT2 , 3.6 kg/day. Body weight and body condition score of sow in different stages were not altered (p > 0.05) due to extra feed in late gestation. A linearly higher (p < 0.05) difference in backfat thickness during farrowing was found in this study. Average daily feed intake was increased (p < 0.05) linearly with extra feed in this experiment. The weaning body weight of piglets was increased (p < 0.05) with extra feed in the sow. The fecal score of sows and their piglets was similar (p > 0.05) in different levels of feed intake. In conclusion, extra feed to gestation sow showed a beneficial effect on improving the weaning piglet's body weight. Although there is a small improvement in the body weight of weaning pigs of sow fed 3.6 kg feed/day in the late gestation period, it is unlikely to be profitable enough to justify the additional waste of feed.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the accuracy of the scan data acquired by the extra-oral and intra-oral scanner. Methods: The maxillary right first molar was made of polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) specimen. This PMMA specimen was scanned with a engineering scanner and intra-oral scanner. Meanwhile, extra-oral scanner scanned stone die duplicated from PMMA master die. Trueness and precision of scan datas was measured by 3-dimensinal inspection. Independent t-test was conduct to analysis the significant difference(a=0.05). Results: In the trueness analysis, mean of discrepancies were 13.82um for intra oral scanner and 16.84 um for extra-oral scanner. In the precision analysis, mean of discrepancies were 11.72 for inta-oral scanner and 9.2 for extra-oral scanner. Both trueness and precision showed a statistically significant difference (Table 1, p<0.05). Conclusion: Intra-oral scanner can show higher trueness than extra-oral scanner, it has lower precision.

Purpose: We investigate the characteristic morphologic features and suggest proper treatment of postaxial polydactyly of the foot Materials and Methods: We analysed 37 cases of postaxial polydactyly. Mean post operative follow up period was 2 years 10 months. We analysed them according to morphological, radiological and operative findings. Patients were classified into extra 5th toe polydactyly and extra 6th toe polydactyly based on the abnormal extradigit, and subdivided into joint origin type, bone origin type and floating type based on duplication pattern. Results: 23 cases were extra 5th toe polydactyly and 14 cases were extra 6th toe polydactyly. Most common types were metatarsophalangeal joint origin type of extra 6th toe polydactyly. Compared with extra 5th toe polydactyly, extra 6th toe polydactyly originated from more proximal part and had not syndactylism. Conclusion: As the duplication level was more distal, degree of syndactylism and nail union was more severe. In case of syndactyly between 5th and 6th toe, abnormal extradigit was 5th toe.

This study aimed to identify the contributors of extra-curricular activities of preschool children focusing on home environmental factors(financial capital, human capital, and social capital) and maternal belief about factors on academic achievement(child's effort, child's ability, teacher's instruction, and maternal teaching). One hundred and seventy three mothers whose preschool children were attending child-care centers in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do participated in the survey. Kinlaw et al.(2001)'s Importance of Effort/Ability Scale was used to assess the mother's belief about the factors on academic achievement. Stipek et al.(1992)'s Activities Sub-scales was revised to measure a social capital, that is the mother's formal and informal activities providing to their preschool child. Educational level was utilized as human capital and monthly income was considered as financial capital. Also, using open ended questions, the subjects were asked to respond to the numbers of extra-curricula activities their child was presently attending, and when he or she began to attend the extra-curricular activity. The main results are as follows. In general, the mothers provided informal activities to their preschool child more than formal activities. Also, they believed the teacher's instruction is the most important and the child's ability the least important in their child's academic achievement. The number of extra-curricular activities was predicted by mothers' formal activities and their belief on their child's ability. The age of starting extra-curricular activities were explained by mothers' formal activities and their educational level.

LH has been using ultra high strength reinforcing bars (SD500 and SD600), since 2011. Such a change requires an adjustment of the old extra rates of bar splice to reflect use of ultra high strength reinforcing bars, as these rates had been set based on SD400 bars. It is particularly difficult to calculate precisely rebar lap-splice locations for large areas, such as those in apartment buildings. This research aims to adjust the extra rates of bar splice to reflect a reasonable rate; the rebar lap-splice length is not an exact estimation, but instead, an extra rates of bar splice is set and the rebar lap-splice length is increased by 2% (D 10) - 7% (025) depending on the bar size. The subjects of this study are LH apartments undergoing frame construction. We studied the quantity estimations from the design drawings, and analyzed the settlement quantities of construction field. The results of the study revealed that, when each of the quantities are analyzed, consider adjusting the extra rates of bar splice of some rebar to 1% - 3.5%. This was caused by an overuse of reinforcing bars in onsite construction and the use of supporting bars that have not been reflected in the documents, among other reasons. Based on the results of our study, an improvement plan for the current extra rates of bar splice seems to be necessary, cutting or raising the rate depending on the analysis of the data. Through this study, we expect to contribute to the calculation of reasonable construction costs, improvements in the quality of rebar work, and improvements in the capacity of design techniques for apartment buildings.

The Air and Correspondence High School (ACHS) has played a key role as an organization of lifelong learning since 1974. However, extra-curriculum in ACHS has not been operated successfully due to lacks of educational supports and on-line contents. So we surveyed demands of the ACHS teachers and students for successful operation of extra-curriculum, found four subjects that students preferred in the developing activity area which is one of extra-curricular activities, and experimentally developed four on-line contents for extra-curriculum. And we also applied the developed on-line contents to the students of Chongju H.S. After the application, another survey and interview were carried out to measure learner's satisfaction, find out problems of learning with on-line contents and suggest the ways of improving extra-curriculum learning system.

This study aimed to analyze the conception of an extra-solar planet perceived by university students. To conduct this, we developed an extra-solar planet education program and questionnaires which help to figure out changes between before and after the program, and then applied them to the targeted students. The results of the study are as follows. First, as to the conception of an extra-solar planet, participants understood it merely as a planet outside the solar system before they got training. However, they expanded it to the one revolving around a star that appears outside the solar system based on keywords after the training. Second, they gave brief responses regarding exploration strategies (e.g., observing the extra-solar planet by using the Doppler effect, dietary phenomenon, and gravitational lens) based on indirect experiences they encountered in the media. The responses indicated their lack of concept of the extra-solar planet exploration methods. However, their recognition of the extra-solar planet observation became concrete while students learned about the exploration of the extra-solar planet. Third, they were expanding the importance of the exoplanet observation simply beyond the discovery of extraterrestrial life to the creative process and research methods, including the solar system and the development of humanity. Fourth, they recognized that exoplanet education is necessary for curriculum as it will be able to bring about students' interest and curiosity as well as scientific knowledge if contents related to the extra-solar planet appear in the earth science curriculum.

This paper is about the Extra-High voltage distribution system in the customer's area. The power loss in the distribution system in the customer's area is disregarded and rarely managed so far. But, economically, this loss is not small quality to ignore. So, in this paper, we calculate the power loss of the Extra-High voltage distribution system in the customer's area by changing the locations of power transformer and other power facilities to decrease power loss in decreased secondary line length. And we also show the payback time of the proposed Extra-High voltage distribution system in the customer's area by simplified calculations.
