In strengthening structure, the external post-tensioning method which secure clearness in the structure analysis process is adopted to bridges as well as architecture structure. In this study, to investigate the behavior of composite beam in the process of post-tensioning, the amount of prestress force loss, the amount of prestressed compression stress at the lower flange and the behavior of lower flange connected with anchorage are analyzed by comparing the results of finite element analysis with the measured results of installed strain gauges. After finishing the post-tensioning, the strengthening effect of external post-tensioning method is analyzed by static loading test. It is also investigated that the strengthening effect of shear section in the harped external post-tensioning specimens.
This study deals with literature review, developing a predicting equation for the ultimate stress of prestressing steel, and experimental test with the parameters affecting the ultimate stress of prestressing steel in reinforced concrete beams strengthened by external prestressing. The ACI predicting equation for the ultimate stress of unbonded prestressing steel is analyzed to develop a new integrated predicting equation. The proposed predicting equation takes rationally the effect of internal reinforcing bars into consideration as a function of prestressing steel depth to neutral depth ratio. In the experimental study, steel reinforced concrete beams strengthened using external prestressing steel are tested with the test parameters having a large effect on the ultimate stress of prestressing steel. The test parameters includes reinforcing bar and external prestressing steel reinforcement ratios, and span to depth ratio. The test results are analyzed to confirm the rationality and applicability of the proposed equation for predicting the ultimate stress of external prestressing steel.

This study entailed an investigation of a tensile stress measurement method for prestressed concrete (PSC) tendons by utilizing external magnetization. The target of this study are PS structures that have been constructed and in use. An optimal external magnetization based elasto-magnetic (EM) sensor was designed using finite element analysis considering various factors, such as coil arrangement and size, that could influence the PS tendons inside the PSC girder. The residual tensile stress resulting from the external magnetization of the girder was then determined. Further, theoretical verification was performed using the numerical and material data used in the finite element analysis for sensor design. The calculated values of strength of magnetization at the target location were matched with the finite element analysis results. Thus, the designed sensor and the feasibility of magnetizing the tendons inside the PSC I-girder using an EM sensor were validated.
Purpose: The purpose of this study were to evaluate the results of arthroscopic PCL reconstruction and posterolateral structure reconstruction. Materials and Methods: We performed 10 cases of arthrocopic PCL and posterolateral structure reconstruction using allo-achilles tendon. The average follow-up period was 25 months. We performed KT-2000 testing and posterior drawer test for posterior instability and tibial external rotation test for posterolateral rotatory instability, and measure Tegner and Lysholm score preoperatively and compared these with the results of a final evaluation in each cases. Results: The Preoperative average KT-2000 tests was 7.1 mm, posterior drawer test was Grade III and tibial external rotation test was positive at both 30 and 90 degrees of knee flexion in all cases. Preoperative average Lysholm score was 65.9 and Tegner score was 3.1. At the final evaluation, an average KT-2000 test was 2.2 mm, posteior drawer test, Grade 0 was 2 cases, Grade 1.4 cases, Grade II, 3 cases, Grade III, 1 cases. The tibial external rotation test at both 30 and 90 degrees of knee flexion was positive in 1 cases and positive at only 90 degrees in 2 cases. Lysholm score was 87.6 and Tegner score was 5.7. The objective and subjective score of final evaluation is increased in compare with preoperative one. Conclusion: Arthrocopic PCL and posterolateral structure reconstruction using allo-achilles tendon is one of the good surgical treatment method in patients having posterior and posterolateral rotatory instability.
Glenohumeral internal and external rotation with shoulder abducted in the frontal plane often causes impingement of the supraspinatus tendon. whereas similar activity in scapular plane does not cause impingement. The Purpose of this study was to determine if assessment among the three positions as 30 degrees, 60 degrees, 90 degrees abduction in the sitting position of the scapular plane could be affected the comparison between intemal and external peak torque, total work, average power. In this study, Isokinetic shoulder rotational strength was evaluated in twenty healthy male university students, using the Cybex NORMTM System (CYBEX Division of LUMEX, Inc., Ronkonkoma, New York). Test data was gathered in the plane of the scapular, 30 degrees of horizontal flexion anterior to coronal plane, and the subjects performed the test with the arm 30, 60, and 90degrees abducted in the sitting position. also, test speed was set at deg/sec. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 7.5 for Windows software and mean and standard deviations were calculated. ANOVA was used to analyze the difference of the values in the three test positions. A paired t-test was used of examining the difference in the means peak torque between external and internal rotation. Not any significant difference was found among three abduction positions in scapular plane, even though there was a consistent pattern of greater strength in the abducted position of 60 degrees. Internal relation strength peak torque and total work were greater than those of external rotation in every test positions.

In this study, the optimal strengthening by micro genetic algorithm(${\mu}$-GA) method is proposed for improvement of load-carrying capacity of RC hollow slab bridges using external prestressing. The Qeen-post type and King-post type are considered for the optimal strengthening. The type for optimal strengthening, deviator, areas of tendons and the number of anchor are calculated by ${\mu}$-GA. The objective function is constituted with dimensionless cost of tendon and steel for optimal strengthening. The constraints are formulated by design specification for bridges and anchors. The validity of this study is presented by analysis of the results after the optimal strengthening of the RC hollow slab bridge.

This paper is to investigate about a new technique (Bow system) which is to develop the disadvantages of the external post-tensioned method. The purpose of this paper is to analyze about the prestress loss when the loads apply along the long term and to improve the capacity of the members strengthened by Bow system. The variables in the test program are the span/depth ratio, the amount of tendon area. And the test was carried out to confirm the long term behaviour. It is shown that can apply the current code in the design, and have no the structural problems about the prestress loss.

This study proposes a novel method for in-service evaluation of force in an external prestressing 7-wire tendon which is employed for retrofitting bridge superstructure. For this propose, a smart strand 7.0m long whose king wire is replaced by a steel tube and the FBG sensor, is developed. Performance of the strand is demonstrated through loading-unloading tests for a RC T-shaped beam 6.4m long. Finally, a couple of test results are presented to discuss effect of temperature change in the FBG sensor.

The Sang-Jin bridge constructed by the Free Cantilever Method in 1985 is 4-span concrete rahmen bridge with a hinge at midspan. Due to the effect of creep, shrinkage of concrete and relaxation of tendon, the Sang-Jin bridge exposed the excessive displacement at midspan with the passage of time. In order to improve the load-carrying-capacity and durability of the bridge, needs to repair and rehabilitate the structure emerged. New rehabilitation methods were applied such as external prestressing of concrete box, application of pier pre-camber and steel truss jacking. Structural analysis and several tests including static load test, dynamic load test and ambient vibration test were executed to verify the improvement. The test result showed that the displacement of the midspan was improved by 10mm and it was verified that the stiffness of the bridge was increased. Totally, the load-carrying-capacity of Sang-Jin bridge was increased at least 1.56times which was attributed to the new rehabilitation method.

This paper reviews the mechanical effects produced by reinforcement corrosion of prestressed concrete beams. Specifically, modifications in the bonding of the tendon to the concrete that reduce service life and load bearing capacity are studied. Experimental information gathered from previous works has been used for the theoretical analysis. Relationships between bond stress loss and reinforcement penetration in the concrete, and concrete external cracking were established. Also, it was analysed the influence that has the location of the area affected by corrosion on the loss magnitude of the initial prestress.
