A Study on the Markup Scheme for Building the Corpora of Korean Culinary Manuscripts (한글 필사본 음식조리서 말뭉치 구축을 위한 마크업 방안 연구)

  • This study aims at establishing a markup system for 17-19th century culinary manuscripts. To achieve this aim, we, in section 2, look into various theoretical considerations regarding encoding large-scale historical corpora. In section 3, we identify and analyze the characteristics of textual theme and structure of our source text. Section 4 proposes a markup scheme based on the XML standard for bibliographical and structural markups for the corpus as well as the grammatical annotations. We show that it is highly desirable to use XML-based markup system since it is extremely powerful and flexible in its expressiveness and scalable. The markup scheme we suggest is a modified and extended version of the TEI-P5 to accommodate the textual and linguistic characteristics of premodern Korean culinary manuscripts.

  • The EtherCAT protocol has become a very promising alternative for real-time industrial application due to its ability to eliminate uncertainties in the Ethernet. However, the extended markup language (XML) for the EtherCAT network system, which is required in the design, lacks systematic development to take advantage of model transformation techniques. This paper focuses on the system development procedure of the EtherCAT-based encoder system using the CANopen over EtherCAT (CoE) protocol. UML modeling is being adapted to design for XML of EtherCAT-based encoder system. To this purpose, this paper analyzes the object dictionary (OD) of a commercial encoder and CANopen over EtherCAT. A UML diagram is then designed based on the analysis, and XML is generated through the designed UML diagram. Finally, an experimental test_bed for the EtherCAT-based encoder system is implemented and its performance is compared with a commercial encoder.

A Design and Implementation of WML Compiler for WAP Gateway for Wireless Internet Services (무선 인터넷 서비스를 위한 WAP 게이트웨이용 WML 컴파일러의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we describe a design and implementation of the Wireless Markup Language(WML) compiler to deploy wireless Internet services effectively. The WML compiler translates textual WML decks into binary ones in order to reduce the traffic on wireless links that have relatively low bandwidth to wireline links and mitigate the processing overhead of WML decks on, wireless terminals that have relatively low processing power to fixed workstations. In addition, it takes over the overhead of eXtensible Markup Language(XML) well-formedness and validation processes. The WML compiler consists of the lexical analyzer and parser modules. The granunar for the WML parser module is LALR(1) context-free grammar that is designed based on XML 1.0 and WML 1.2 DTD(Document Type Definition) with the consideration of the Wireless Application Protocol Binary XML grammar. The grammar description is converted into a C program to parse that grammar by using parser generator. Even though the tags in WML will be extended or WML DTD will be upgraded, this approach has the advantage of flexibility because the program is generated by modifying just the changed parts. We have verified the functionality of the WML compiler by using a WML decompiler in the public domain and by using the Nokia WAP Toolkit as a WAP client. To measurethe compressibility gain of the WML compiler, we have tested a large number of textual WML decks and obtained a maximum 85 %. As the effect of compression is reduced when the portion of general textual strings increases relative to one of the tags and attributes in a WML deck, an extended encoding method might be needed for specific applications such as compiling of the WML decks to which the Hyper Text Markup Language document is translated dynamically.

  • As computing paradigm of the next generation, Ubiquitous Computing has emerged owing to growing of the Internet and computer networking technologies, and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) which is the core technology to achieve(realize,actualize) the Ubiquitous Computing environment, is being noticed. MIT's Auto-ID Center has proposed PML(Physical Markup Language) which is based on XML (Extensible Markup Language), is a standard language for describing physical objects, in order to interchange of data between each of these RFID application systems. The PML defines only core parts to describe physical objects, but on the other hand the other parts to be needed in practical application have to be defined with extended definitions separately. In this paper, therefore, the object information data model was designed, which defines the type of the object in order. to process electronic tag information in the RFID application service based on PML Core of Auto-ID Center and is applicable to the distribution service parts.

  • In this paper, I discuss the problems of developing web based adaptive hypermedia for education using extensible Markup Language(XML). Adaptive hypermedia systems are capable of altering the Presentation of the contents of the hypermedia on the basis of a dynamic understanding of the individual student. The student profile is contained in a student model, while the knowledge about the domain can be represented in the form of a concept based domain model. Accordingly, I define two different markup languages using XML. The one structures the domain model and the another describes the student model. These language can be easily extended and authored, with the result of obtaining a simple methodology for data structuring in the field of web based educational adaptive hypermedia.

  • OGC(Open GIS Consortium)에서는 GIS 분야에서 표준포맷을 이용한 공간데이터의 저장 및 상호운용성을 활성화하기 위하여 공간데이터를 XML(eXtensible Markup Language)로 인코팅하는 GML(Geographic Markup Language) 표준 메커니즘을 제안하였다. GML의 공간데이터를 이용하여 공간연산을 하기 위해서는 GML 문서에 접근하여 문서 내에 있는 공간객체를 다룰 수 있는 기능이 필요하다. GML의 기반인 GML에는 이러한 기능을 가진 표준인터페이스인 DOM(Document Obejct Model)이 있으나, GML문서 내의 공간객체에 대한 공간연산을 위한 인터페이스는 지원하지 않는다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 GML 문서의 공간데이터에 대한 공간연산을 위해 XML의 DOM 인터페이스를 확장하는 방안을 제안한다.

Access Control for XML Documents Using Extended RBAC (확장된 RBAC를 이용한 XML문서에 대한 접근제어)

  • XML(eXtensible Markup Language) has emerged as a prevalent standard for document representation and exchange on the Internet. XML documents contain information of different sensitivity degrees, so that XML Document must selectively shared by user communities. There is thus the need for models and mechanisms enabling the specification and enforcement of access control policies for XML documents. Mechanisms are also required enabling a secure and selective dissemination of documents to users, according to the authorizations which the users have. In this paper, we give an account of access control model and mechanisms, which XML documents can be securely protected in web environments. We make RBAC Based access Control polices to the problem of secure and selective access of XML documents. The proposed model and mechanism guarantee that the secure use for XML documents through definition of authority for element, attribute, link within XML document as well as XML document.

  • As major industries become information-centered, business transactions and information-sharing processes are being computerized and automated, which ultimately re-defines electronic commercial transactions in a broader context. Business documents are the basic tools for corporate transactions. The use of business documents in electronic commercial transactions has increased markedly and this sphere is rapidly being extended to include information sharing between companies. XML(extensible Markup Language) was selected as the focus for this thesis. XML ran help to make a complicated and data-rich document easy to share. The thesis proposes a business XML document editing system, comprised of a style document editor for business XML document structure, business documentation, and business document presentation, along with a business document transformation system which makes a transformation possible regardless of platform or using various corporate document standards.

  • XML(eXtensible Markup language) 사용의 급속한 증가는 웹에 존재하는 많은 양의 정보들을 XML기반 데이터로 생성하게 했으며 저장과 교환에 있어서 표준이 되도록 했다. 이는 사용자에 의한 임의의 태그정의를 가능하게 하는 XML 사용의 용이성에 기반한다. 그러나 이러한 장점은 비슷한 내용을 갖는 XML 문서에 대해서 사람들마다 개개의 태그이름과 구조를 사용한다는 문제점을 만든다. 따라서 유사한 의미를 가지고 있지만 서로 다른 문서로 분류된다. 이러한 점을 개선하기 위해 XML 문서 태그들 간의 벡터 스페이스 모델과 XML 데이터를 이용하여 시소러스를 구축하는 방법 등이 연구되고 제안되어 왔지만 아직 초보적인 단계이다. 본 논문에서는 XML 문서를 구성하는 태그들을 동의어로 확장하여 벡터를 생성하고 생성된 벡터를 가지고 태그들 간의 유사성을 체크하여 서로 다른 XML 문서들의 유사성을 수치적으로 계산한다.
