Analysis of New Media Fashion Image Types in Fashion Films (패션필름에 나타난 뉴미디어 패션 이미지 유형분석)

  • In the era of new media, images hold an important position as episteme to express and convey ideas. Fashion films provide dynamic and unique fashion images, differentiated from prior fashion media as a representational tool for showing a realistic fashion image only; consequently, their production and spread are increasing rapidly as a new fashion media. This study identifies the meaning and type of fashion images in fashion films based on the concept of Deleuze's image that help discover distinctive characteristics of fashion films as a new fashion media of an expressive tool. Literature research was conducted on new media, concepts and types of images by Deleuze to analyze types of new media images. According to research, fashion image in fashion film is defined as a fashion event; consequently, three types of new media images are derived. As the result of the empirical study, fashion images in fashion films are classified by images of realistic movement, variable time, and virtual experience. The results of the consideration show that fashion films expressed fashion through temporality and narrative, senses, and diegesis. Fashion images of new media in fashion films portray fashion as a process that transcends reality and imagination.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the power images in the style of a leader: through the focus on the portrait of Henry VIII. Study methods on the literature concerning viewpoints of power and image in the early modern age and the subjects of power are being used for theoretical backgrounds; and the visual data from National Portrait Gallery, British Library and the internet are used for exploratory studies. The results of this study are as follows. First, from the style of Henry VIII who represented the image of political power, the modern political phenomenon can be defined. Such phenomenon which displays images of political leaders from the study indicate an effective strategy. Second, the religious, a diplomatic representation for the style of Henry VIII powers, such as costume style and somatic visual images, represents the dignity and power by delivering visible internal attributes. Thus, the role model recognized by the society and the public's perception of leadership style affects the acknowledgement and belief by the people.

A Study on the Development of the School Readiness Inventory for Preschoolers (취학 전 유아의 학교준비도 검사 개발 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to conceptualize the definition of school readiness specific to the context of the Republic of Korea. The school readiness test can be used as basic data to enable early childhood educational institutes to determine the general readiness of preschoolers and provide support to fit individual characteristics. For this purpose, six stages of the school readiness development process were considered, that is, draft development, primary preliminary survey, primary expert verification, secondary expert verification, secondary preliminary survey, and main survey. In the main survey, tests were conducted using the school readiness final draft targeting 344 preschoolers living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The item discrimination power analysis and factor analysis for the examination area and question area were also conducted. Consequently, a test tool was developed on the basic of the results obtained, consisting of 129 items in the five areas of knowledge, function, adaptation, tendency, and attitude. The knowledge area was divided into general, linguistic, and mathematical knowledge, and the function area into fine motor function, basic living ability, expressive function, and gross motor function. The adaptation area was classified into adaptation activity, separation anxiety, maladaptive behavior, and environment adaptation; the tendency area into learning tendency; others understanding, and individual tendency, and the attitude area into rule compliance and life habits.

  • The purpose of this study is to interpret Korean traditional space as text on the basis of Structuralism. The process of this study is illustrated as follows: At first, this research contains basic concepts and theories of Structuralism and discusses the possibilities of typological approaches in Korean traditional space interpretation. Secondly, As typological structure of traditional space, spacial and visual expressive characteristics in traditional residential space based on traditional thoughts of Koreans formed with inherent consciousness are considered with Hjelmslev's Structuralism and Wonhyo's Whajaeng theory. Finally, This study tries conceptual analysis based on Lacan's Metaphor and Metonymy emerged from unconscious mechanisms about interpretation and induction of the traditional spacial structure for contemporary Application. Structure is a group of elements forming a covariant ensemble. From this point of view, this study validates that texts are understood when methods that bring back to the creative processes and intentions are found by Text Hermeneutics.

  • The purpose of this study is to review the concept and thinking structure of deconstruction theoretically and thereupon, analyze the visual beauty and wearable comfort of the clothing and further, discuss the aesthetic characteristics and values of the decentering phenomenon in the 21st century fashion. Deconstruction provides for an cognitive framework whereby we could comprehensively review the difficult-to-understand and imprudent creativity unravelling in the name of the post-modernism as well as the ambiguous visual beauty and wearable comfort of our contemporary fashion. In particular, deconstruction refuses such concepts involving the relationship between the conventional clothing and its components as order, symmetry, balance, harmony, perfection and simplicity and instead, attaches some sense of value to such relatively inferior concepts as disorder, asymmetry, unbalance, disharmony, imperfection and complexity, and thus, reflects them in the modes of aesthetic representations to create new aesthetics and expand the expressive potential.

  • In this study, the basic information and study design characteristics of the Building Outer Wall Vertical Greening were analyzed. Recorded according to the type of research and analysis, through numerical statistics. Building Outer Wall Vertical Greening design the most appropriate and effective ways to present and try to guidelines. The scope of the research of Building Outer Wall Vertical Greening(2001-2013) was selected the most representative examples. Theory and statistical data analysis and case study research was conducted. The main academic monographs, Library Literature, specializing in design magazines and excerpts from the 28 cases analyzed specifically. Building Outer Wall Vertical Greening should be designed synthetically geographical features of the project, existing material, to consider the value of the building. Architect must be designed depending on accident and comprehensive expertise for architectural design of Building Outer Wall Vertical Greening. Building Outer Wall Vertical Greening requires the professional and comprehensive design approach depending on support of the government and people. However, purpose of use, plant, color, Formative expression, culture, locality, maintenance is properly applied in the design process is not easy.

  • This study collects 112 webtoon advertisements by Google extended search to reveal the narratives of webtoon in persuasive communication context. The results of content analysis are as follows. First, product categories are found relatively more in number such as content and game, cosmetics, public service announcement than other products. Second, the number of webtoon advertisements has increased these seven years; rather drastic increase is found in 2013. Third, as for the origin, brand webtoon is the largest number of all types. Fourth, there is a significant difference between public interest products and commercial products in absurdity advertising number. Commercial products use a variety of genres such as romance, drama, everyday life, including absurdity, while public interest products focus mainly on everyday life.

  • This study considers the fashion as an expressive object of mental value system in order to understand muitivocal value groups. Because the external behavior aspects and internal values of muitivocal value groups are getting more ambiguous in these days. This purposes of this study are as follows; first, this paper examines diversely how these groups affect modern fashion through analysis multivocal value groups after 1990s, and makes clear that various social, cultural, and economical values are important factors for changing symbolic standard connected with fashion. Second, it aims at expanding the positive recognition of the conflicts that exist among various values, and aesthetical recognition that overcome the discrepancy and such conflicts. For this aim, this paper analyzes the social and cultural aspects, aesthetic taste, life style of such groups focusing on Dink, Yiffie, Yettie, Bobos. We examine these groups' characteristics and their effect on modern fashion by categorizing them into Snob Look, Vintage Fashion, Unbalance Fashion, and Caports Look. This paper conducts the previous literature review and the practical analysis on periodical publications and Internet websites concerning fashion. Consequently, this kind of study is useful for providing a theoretical background that would explain the multilateralism in fashion, with uncertain in useful and culture, and changing the obvious confusion to another dimension of order.

  • Nowadays living space has been small-sized due to a rise in the standard of living, change of recognition on the increase of housing for the singles, and frequent movements of duty place, etc. and the furnitures naturally evolved assembly and multi-functionality. However, it retuned with an economic charge in the consumers and lost the uniformity in a small-sized living space as well since the furniture depended on the each miscellaneous household goods or products and came to be used. Hereupon it was demanded the system where the various furnitures are to fit to here. This study aimed at this point firstly examined a new environment change which it follows till a small living space is demanded through lots of literature, after understanding the concept of the system furniture, I classified expressive types of system furniture in modern environment and analyzed the design quality and characteristics in it by selecting well-known furniture magazines inside and outside of the country and extracting and analyzing system furniture images which are recorded in advertisements or articles. The objective of this study is to present MMC(Multi Modular Coordination, a system furniture design based on this analysis that inquiring the problems with function, structure, assembly which other existing system furnitures are facing enabled to apply a basic data in unit-module planning and by sampling embodiment modeling by uses.

  • The idea of shopping is changed from a purchase of merchandise to an experience of pleasure. This study is a space composition analysis for the introduction of theme in multi-plex shopping center design to reflect variable consumer trend and company marketing strategy. The study progressed through theoretical consideration and substance analysis about the shopping centers which had been designed by Jerd Partnership from 2000 in Japan. The following is result. The path is a sole main street that is made of curve form, parallel and vertical circulating rout and movement of human being. It leads continuity. The node and landmarks have a circular court with typifier as powerful center, character of transition space and event for experience. It makes locational quality. The districts are composed of retail shops, restaurants and culture facilities and the edge is represented by closed vertical wall and parapet. It induces a domain. The characteristic of Jerde shopping center is an experience of theme environment through the path as betweenness space with a story based on a main theme.
